Great store for all of your HIC needs. They have way more at the store than you see online. Check them out.

Relative just took me to this store and so glad he did. They carry an extensive collection of HIC products. I know where I’m going for my tees and tanks from now on. The staff was like family and I miss that kind of interaction living out in the Inland Empire. The clothes prices are average, some tees a little on the high side, but the fabric is quality so I know it’ll last a long time with lots of washing. It’s those type of shirts that become your old, comfortable go-to in your closet. Bonus, they have a web site: Go shop folks.

This cute little store popped up in the middle of Nijiya plaza several months ago and I was pretty excited to go and see what was inside. When I finally went in a few months ago, I found out to my surprise they sold Hawaiian Island Creations clothings! I haven’t seen that brand in forever! It takes me back to the days when I was a kid and I would wear rad Hawaiian shirts like Maui and Sons, T&C, OP, and other cool shirts. I remember that the cool kids would wear the HIC shirts and shorts… wait, my sister wore them but she wasn’t cool… Anyways… Now these HIC shirts and shorts aren’t retro or anything, they’re actually quite contemporary with their design and quality. That may be why HIC is still around after all these years… One day, a few months ago, I finally bought a shirt and when I put it on I instantly felt cool(figuratively). It was my favorite shirt for a few months, but then one day, I noticed a tiny whole around the back sleeve area and I suddenly became a sad panda. It was still one of my favorite shirts but now with a defect. I’m sure this defect is an isolated case so I wouldn’t expect defects to be a common phenomenon for HIC products. I wasn’t sure what the store’s return policy was but I took it in today to see what they would do for me. The owner’s son was at the register(cool kid) and was really helpful. He got his mom out to help me out. The owner was really cool about it. She took my word that I bought the shirt at this store. The design was a few months old so they didn’t have the charcoal gray colored shirt that I was returning but they had a lighter shade of gray with the same design and I happily took that. So I went in there hoping for good things and I definitely got it. I went home feeling cool again with a new shirt, happy, and a very pleased feeling about this store. There was no hassle at all! Amazing. Period. I’m definitely coming back here to shop for myself and others. I like the shirts but they also have hoodies, boardshorts, and other attire, all pretty rad with the Hawaiian theme. I totally recommend this place.

A+ for service and friendliness. It has the feel of a family-run store, that ohana feeling. It is a small shop so the selection is a bit limited, but for local-style t-shirts, hoodies, slippahs, and backpacks/bags, and surf-logo stickers for your car, this place has got the goods. They have other assorted treasures here, too, always great choices for gifts or a treat for yourself with that aloha flair. Quality of the products they carry is also top notch. Not cheapy trinkets, this stuff will last.

They recently moved to this new location from the old one on Artesia and Western that was in the plaza near Baskin Robbins and At&t. Store size is about the same as the old store this new store is in the Nijiya plaza so parking could be tough on the busy days. Still a great selection of HIC clothing, slippers, bags etc. The staff very friendly and always have the Aloha spirit. If you are looking for HIC(Hawaiian Island Creations) shirts this is the place to come.

New location! Same HIC goodness! Get your HIC tees without having to fly to Hawaii!(Yes, I admit I’d rather get them in Hawaii too, but that can get expensive fast. This is a good alternative.) SELECTION/PRICE: HIC stands for Hawaiian Island Creations, a surfwear brand popular in Hawaii and spreading worldwide. Turtle Beach specializes in HIC and HIC-affiliated apparel brands(like Go Barefoot). Comments here will focus on the selection of clothing available for men since I shop here mainly for myself. The store does also carry clothing for women, as well as accessories(slippahs, wallets, bags, backpacks, license plate frames, stickers, etc…). Looking for any of these? * HIC tanks or tees? Check. Price: $ 18-$ 29 for tanks/tees(short sleeve) depending on style, $ 29+ for long sleeve tees. * HIC cargo or board shorts? Check. Price: $ 40 – 55 for cargo shorts, $ 40-$ 65 for board shorts. * HIC flannel or woven shirts? Check. Price: $ 40-$ 46. * Go Barefoot aloha shirts? Check. Price: $ 50-$ 55. * HIC crewneck fleece tops and hoodies? Check. Price: $ 44 for fleece tops, $ 49-$ 75 for hoodies depending on style. * HIC hats(Flexfits, Snapbacks, and truckers)? Check. Price: $ 20-$ 30 depending on style. Need larger sizes? Turtle Beach carries a limited quantity of tees, tanks, and hoodies in larger sizes like 2X, 3X, and possibly larger. Larger sizes usually cost a little more(a few dollars) than the regular size prices. Need to shop online? A good thing to do is keep up-to-date via the store’s Facebook page( ) since they post weekly sales/deals there. If you’re looking to shop online, they now have an online store at . STAFF: I’ve been a regular customer here for 2 ½ years now, so everyone who works here pretty much recognizes me already. The various staff have always been welcoming, friendly, and helpful, even if they didn’t yet know me as a regular. Tami the manager is extremely helpful. She has tracked down particular tee designs for me that she didn’t yet have in stock, and put items on hold for me until I can stop by. Simply put, she’s the best when it comes to customer service. LOCATION: The store has just recently moved next to Nijiya Market in the Nijiya Plaza in Torrance, on the corner of 182nd Street and Van Ness Avenue. The new address is: 2137 W. 182nd Street Torrance, CA90504 This store used to be located on Artesia Boulevard in the Gardena Marketplace(across from Marukai).
