VS Athletics

This company has the worst customer service ever. We placed an order with them for their april fools sale the day it started (which was actually a day or so before april 1) for over $ 600 in merchandise. One item we purchased among these was a 16lb cantabrian hammer that my husband and I were giving as a high school graduation gift for a thrower of ours to take to college with him. He graduated just this past weekend so we figured we were ordering plenty early enough. Boy did we think WRONG! we made arrangements to pick all our items up the day after we ordered them at their office in Torrance, CA since we live in Las Vegas, NV but were going to a meet in Pomona, CA so we went out of our way to pick up the items. Well we were talked to very rudely by on of their employees when we called to make sure they were open on Saturday for us to grab our stuff and we were told NO they weren’t even though we were told the day before they were going to be open on Saturday. She didn’t care at all that another employee told us they would be open and didn’t even apologize. She blamed us for everything. Finally she agreed to meet us and gave us her number to call when we were 15 minutes away. Well we were early and called with no answer. We left a message with no return call to us. Then we sent multiple text messages and call a couple more times. We waited almost an hour for someone to get a hold of us and no one did. then I left a message with customer service about this problem and no one ever called us back. so I let a few days go by and they never returned my call. then my husband called and was told they would do nothing about it, it wasn’t their fault and if we wanted our stuff he was told he had to pay the shipping. SCREW THAT! not happening. I called back and told them it was their fault they never showed up and asked how far the owner and this employee lived and they each lived less than 1 mile away in each direction. Really its too hard to drive a mile for customer to give them over $ 600 in merchandise the just purchased from you. WOW. so finally the owner was told we lived out of state, which was told to the employee as well and he had the stuff shipped the next day. BUT our cantabrian hammer was being shipped separately. We were not told why, but that it was. Well a month and a half go by and no hammer. So I call the company and am put on hold quite a few times and then finally someone answers me and tells me they are on hold with cantabrian themselves trying to find out where our hammer was and would call me back as soon as he figured It out. Guess WHAT? no call back. 2 ½ weeks go by and I call them back to see what is up. I am put on hold I don’t remember how many times and most of the time they would pick up the line and immediately put me back on hold without even talking to me so I pretty much knew they were doing it on purpose because they had no answers. finally I hang up. they called me right back and gave me the crap story that they had the wrong address and it was shipped to the wrong place even though we only have one address on file with them and our 2 other shipments from them made it correctly. FUNNY. SO they say we are shipping that out and It should be to you by Wednesday, 5 days when we I talked to them. well Wednesday came and went and no hammer so I call and ask to talk directly with the owner who is in a meeting and calls me about 20min later. he says im sorry for the mix up and we will get this sent out to you tomorrow. well he was right, they sent it to us the next day. but instead of it being the black 16lb cantabrain hammer that I reminded them of numerous times that we ordered and paid for, they sent us an ATE 16lb hammer that was cheaper than what we paid for and THEY DONT EVEN CARRY ATE HAMMERS!!! so where the hell did they get this hammer. so I call and left a message on sunday and guess what NO RESPONSE! Big friggin surprise. WORST COMPANY EVER! and they are liars. NEVER will we shop with them again. And no one we know (which is many) will ever deal with them again. so when looking around for equipment or shoes or anything else track and field related go to first to the finish or east bay or everything track and field and pay a little less for a LOT less STRESS and HEADACHE!!! heck even walmart sells shot puts. I would go there first before vs athletics again. GO POUND SAND!
The hammer we ordered was the black 16lb cantabrian hammer that was on your website, not the stack house yellow ate hammer you sent us that isn’t on your website. You don’t even sell the ate on your website so why would you send it to us. Plus you owe us a black 16 lb cantabrian hammer or you owe us $ 20 since that was the difference in what we paid and the merchandise we actually received. You sent us something we didn’t order. Why don’t you try looking at our invoice because it clearly states we bought almost 2 months ago the black cantabrian 16lb men’s hammer! You are seriously the worst company ever.

It was time for a new pair of throwing shoes, so off to scour the Internet I went!
Ordered a pair of Nike Zoom Rotational 5 throwing shoes from VS Athletics.
Two weeks pass by, the shoes still hadn’t shown up.
Called to inquire what was going on, where they were or if they had even shipped.
Guy on the phone tells me, «Oh, we never even charged your credit card! We were out of stock in your size.»
Seriously? Not a call or an e-​mail to tell me this? How difficult could that possibly be?!
It’s hard enough to find throwing shoes as it is, so when they’re found online in your size and at a great price (PST! Not all elite athletes are sponsored by Nike, Asics.) it’s a big deal.
Currently looking to buy the new Nike Zoom Rotational 5s elsewhere. Meanwhile, a bottle of Gorilla Glue is holding the sole of my right shoe on so I can continue training. And thank goodness.
I’ve bought shoes from VS for about as long as I’ve been throwing (decade +), and never will again.
Go play in traffic, VS Athletics. When the Track and Field community is the most profitable source and even LOYAL to your business, this type of customer service is unacceptable.

I was in need of weightlifting shoes. Shoes are one of those things that I would feel much better about buying and trying on in person. This store is super tiny and initially kind of hard to find. They don’ have a HUGE variety of shoes, just white and black. But the shoes do fit differently, so I’m glad I was able to try them on. They are only open during the weekday and only business hours so I had to make time to go there. The sales guy was pretty helpful. I guess that VS is primarily an online company so they have a lot of sizes just not a huge style selection.
A few tips when trying on weightlifting shoes. Do some air squats in them first to get the feel.
