Back when I worked at Lexus this was the place to go for lunch and or breakfast. Tucked away in a corporate building it is definitely a hidden gem. My favorites here have to be their jumbo bacon burritos, spicy chicken plates, and her bibimbap. The burritos are amongst the best I’ve ever had. Comes with cream cheese bacon eggs hash browns and her special salsa. The spicy chicken is just to die for and can easily be two meals. The bibimbap I believe is only available on Wednesdays but it is a nice change of pace. Very good food at a reasonable price. Definitely recommended.

My favorite food here is spicy chicken. That is what I get about 90% of the times. I have been eating here since 2007. They give A LOT of chicken and rice every time I come. The price is very reasonable — definitely cheaper than most resturants near by. Julio, the cook, is nice and does a good job with cooking. The owner is very nice and friendly. She speaks English decent but you may need to speak slow and clear. If you visit few times and talk to her, she will remember you. Most customers are regulars that work in the same building. The place is clean and neat. The outside patio is nice to have some coffee with coworkers on cool or warm days.

I love their breakfast burrito(bacon). It’s so yummy like the name of the restaurant. I also love their spicy chicken combo. It comes with rice salad and a drink. The owner is super nice and sweet. You can also call in your order if you don’t want to wait.

Most unacceptable restaurant ever. No respect for customer. No apology for forgetting order. Don’t know how to treat customer. They served me Friday left over rice on Monday!!! I do not recommend this restaurant at all. No choice for who’s eating at restaurant, because of area. Should better to bring your own meal.

I always get the jumbo burrito. If ordering multiple orders over the phone, make sure to preface your call with the number of orders being placed, cuz you may get hung up on. The lady that works there is a sweetheart, but very down to business when on the phone… it’s funny actually. My coworkers and I tease each other every time we call, hilariousness! They do have lunch specials including korean dishes which, from what I hear, really good. I’ve only had the breakfast burritos and they are awesome! Not like other places where they stuff potatoes like crazy, they breakfast burritos here mean business! Don’t forget to tip!

Pretty good for what it is. Sonia is seriously entertaining when yelling at the cook. Lunch time is super busy so expect to wait. The spicy chicken is a great lunch staple.

I eat here for lunch at least once or twice a week. The lunches are quick, easy, tasty, and inexpensive. Once in a while I will get breakfast here and the burritos are awesome. I am super thankful that the Yummie Tree is walking distance to my office.

Nothing better than a Yummie Tree breakfast burrito to start off the day! If your looking for a cheap and delicious breakfast burrito, this is the place!

Thanks Toshi for the review! Now all I can say is $ 6 bi bim bap on Wednesdays!(see picture) it comes with the usual vegetables, but well flavored, the meat is ‘yummie’ and plentiful… and the egg! crispy and oh-so runny at the same time I should have know by the way ‘yummie’ is spelled that this place would serve some sort of Asian food. the owner knows most of her customers by name and she is very friendly. think I will bring coworkers here, as there are a variety of sandwiches/salads/burgers/soups etc offered here as well also: another Wednesday special is kbbq beef with rice… may have to check that out sometime

Rediscovered this place after a 13 year lapse in memory! I remember coming here once for a sandwich or burger and then totally forgetting about it. A coworker who’s a regular there suggested the bibimbap and I was sold. I’m surprised that K food is served here. What really surprised me was that the bibimbap is a popular Wednesday special as evidenced by the number of patrons ordering it. The lady behind the counter is good at pushing the specials. It’s kinda like hinting that the specials are better than anything else offered that day. Loved the bibimbap. Just the right amount. While it’s not the dolsot(hot stone bowl) bibimbap, it’s still tasty and well done. Lots of veggies with beef over rice. Since that first visit, I’ve been back 3 more times. It’s my standby when I don’t want to drive or have to be waited on. I also heard the teri beef sandwiches are good too so I’ll be back for that. At my last visit, I got to talking with the lady behind the counter. She may appear a bit brusque and businesslike, but she’s friendly. Service is quick and there’s seating indoor and out. I’ve never seen it packed but there’s a steady stream of customers. After reading some of the other reviews, I need to check out the noodles on Thursdays.

Most of the other reviews pretty much nailed it. Great place for a quick bite for breakfast or lunch. Anthony’s description of the breakfast burrito is spot on. I love them and they are always satisfying. I usually will split one with a co-worker since they are quite large. One thing I would recommend are their smoothies as well. U never would have guessed, but, they have really good smoothies at a really great price. Also, Sonya is great. If you go there just a few times, she will remember you. Very nice and engergetic.

I’ve been here for lunch once or twice a month for years. It’s a no frills diner/café in an office building. There is a large menu for breakfast and lunch, ranging from salads to sandwiches to teriyaki chicken to burgers to smoothies. I usually come on Thurs. to get their Korean noodles. Lots of vegetables, noodles are cooked just right, some beef(wish there was more)…all in all pretty yummy. This is a great place for a quick bit at reasonable prices.

I think I am always a fair judge but I was just surprised to see the reviews of this place. I am compelled to write. Here is the truth(at least for me). I am not truly happy with this place at all. First, they will try to trick you in the way by overcharging little stuff(foam cup for 50cent???) and screwing up or forgetting your order. It is not a pleasant feeling when you called in advance and show up just on time to pick up my order and found it is not ready(I highly suspect they gave to someone else instead). No apology or crack of smile from this lady. I had just enough of the poor customer service and hate to see price of food gets higher and higher with less and less quantity. Yuck!

It had been a long time since I was last at Yummie Tree Café. Located in an office building, Yummie Tree is open to the public and features a short order counter, various knickknack gifts, and snacks/candies. I have never had lunch here. But today, I revisited a past favorite of mine – their breakfast burrito. It is quite good. They put the salsa and sour cream right into the burrito, which makes it tasty. The salsa has a little bit of burn to it as well. I wish the bacon was crispier. The burritos are made to order, which makes the food taste better, but you have to wait. You can call in orders if you like. The burritos are quite big and run $ 4 a piece. I browsed the candy rack, and they had two candy bars that you don’t see very often – Oh Henry! and Whatchamacallit. I wanted to buy some; however, after picking them up, they were quite hard like they’ve been sitting there for a while. Yummie Tree though definitely isn’t a bad choice if you are looking for a good breakfast burrito. The other stuff there though didn’t really appeal to me. The woman who runs the place is also pretty nice as well.

This is my default place to go to for lunch at work when I’m not in the driving mood or not wanting something from my work«pantry.» Definitely a work, location, this place is convenient if you’re in the Torrance area. You can park in the lot or on the street near Alpine… and come in. Because it’s located on the first floor of an office building, you might raise an eyebrow, but non-Toyota employees are more than welcome there. This place serves it all… from their breakfast burritos, to sandwiches, to special plates. Thursdays are Chicken Curry day… and that’s usually the day I go; otherwise, I’m usually getting the burritos or the Tuna Melt. The prices are VERY good for what you get. And the food is good enough to keep you coming back. They also have various things available like candy bars, cereal bars, fruit, etc… so really, it’s your one-stop shop if you don’t necessarily know what you want and you’re near the area. Service — I said it’s a company/office building type café, so service wouldn’t be what you were looking for in the first place. But Sonya, the lady who runs the joint is extremely friendly. When you call in an order, she might be short and hang up w/o saying goodbye, but that’s because she’s always moving around.
