Disorganized and dismissive. What’s the point of having an appointment if you’re going to be see over 20 minutes late. No apology, nothing. Very rude. Had to sit and listen to coworkers gossip while waiting. I’ll be visiting a different salon and make sure my friends and colleagues know about this disappointing experience.

Casey is the absolute best hair dresser hands down! She has been doing my hair forever and recently I’ve decided to go from a very dark brown to blonde. She has gradually made me lighter and lighter so my hair stays healthy. It’s absolutely beautiful. Carol Ann does my nails, I get shellac so my nails stay strong and beautiful for a long time, she gets so close to my cuticles with the polish it doesn’t even look grown out for about two weeks. I just got my first massage yesterday by Jib and I felt like I was in a cloud for the rest of the day! It was amazing!

Just had the best facial in a very long time! Saw Maggie for a belated b-​day classic European facial & she was amazing! Very attentive & professional. Facial as well as neck & shoulder massage were great! I highly recommend her & have already booked another appt.

I’ve always had a great experience at About Faces, and typically went for massages and facials when my husband surprised me for special occasions. I decided to try the hair services b/​c they have fabulous hours (open at 8 am!) and it is convenient to my house. I have seen Sara twice now and she is fabulous. The two cut/​color services that I have had with her are the best I have ever had! She listens to what I asked for and I always leave with fabulous looking hair. Not to mention, she is sweet, funny and very easy to be around. I will continue to go to Sara and I’m so glad that I finally found a stylist who does such a great job!

I regularly see Joseph; I actually followed him from his previous salon. He is a magician with hair!!! Look him up on Instgram (@hairbyjosephtrace) to see for yourself. My favorite quality about him is his perfectionism. His attention to detail really makes his work stand out. He is a truly passionate stylist who consistently progresses his professional knowledge and skills.
This salon is perfect! Its spacious, clean, modern, and they offer almost every kind of beauty service; hair, nails, brow tinting, lash extentions, facials, specialty facials (collagen treatments, hydrolifting facials, peels, etc), waxing, massages, and body masks!!! They even have a small retail area at the front. They also have a complimentary refreshment bar so you can really feel pampered.

HAIR TRENDS I’VE HAD DONE: ombré, balayage, «granny chic”/ smokey gray balayage.

Had a great massage, but the pedicure was awful: (1) the person doing the pedicure asked for some of the snacks that had been brought to me and crammed a couple of pretzels in her mouth while she was working on my feet. The pretzels didn’t fit in her mouth, so were hanging out of her mouth until she chewed them enough to pull the rest into her mouth; (2) she trimmed my toenails so short that several times it hurt and I had to tell her to stop; (3) as she was finishing up, she smudged one of my nails and had to start over on that nail; (4) at times, I thought maybe the technician was under the influence of some substance — she was moving at an excruciatingly slow pace — like I have never experienced with a pedicure before– and having to concentrate hard on things as simple as putting the nail brush/​top back into the nail polish bottle; (5) the pedicure took an hour and a half; (6) when I complained about how long it took, one of the other employees said «she is very thorough» — the better response would have been to apologize and ask follow-​up questions so that they could have gotten the feedback needed to improve their business. They did give me a few tubs of some creams out of the bulk stuff they use in an attempt to smooth things over, but this fell short of how a business should handle this sort of situation. And I was in such a rush to get to my next appointment that I was late for that I had no idea what those creams were for — So go for the massage, but you can get better nail services for less money at your local strip mall nail salon.

Let me just start by saying how amazing the staff here is. This was my first experience at About Faces. The girls at the front desk are so welcoming and kind. Sean is an amazing stylist. His coloring skills are amazing. He is a true artist in his trade, the Picasso of hair coloring. I had tried to dye my own hair at home platinum blonde… definitely far from platinum (it turned out yellow). I had contacted Sean and he got me right in first thing the next morning. He made sure my hair wasn’t damaged from the bleaching process the night before. After coloring and adding some toner to my hair, it came out an amazing platinum blonde. I also would like to add this was all taken care of with no problem the day before my brothers wedding. Sean and the entire staff here are amazing and truly know what they are doing. Definitely will be my new place to go for any hair coloring/​styling services.

This was my first experience at About Faces and I absolutely loved it ! I went in to have my hair done by the super talented Joseph! He’s absolutely a blast to work with and does beautiful work every time (I followed him here from his old job) I’m a definitely a life long client of his and for good reason. He is always learning and expanding himself, he loves what he does and it shows, I really can’t say enough about how awesome he is ! I can honestly say I fully trust him with my hair !
I also needed my brows done badly (we won’t go there lol) and I was honesty nervous but Joseph told me to go to the woman who does his, her name is Galina and she’s absolutely great!!! I finally have good brows again! I can’t wait to stick with her for all my waxing needs, and she’s so nice !
With both of them working on me, I feel confident that I’ll look my best. I really like the atmosphere of About Faces and that it’s in a nice location with great parking, I also really like the product line they use, the products Joseph used on my hair made such a difference. I bought two of them that I would really use the most and although the bumble and bumble line isn’t cheap, it’s worth it when you’re trying to keep your hair in great condition. Why not protect your investment? This is a one stop shop and although some services are a bit pricy (nails and some others) it’s worth it for when you really just want to do it all in one location.

Good location and parking. However, the person who did my eyebrows went way overboard, and made them too thin! I did receive a great pedicure though but it was $ 40+ which I thought was way too much.

Had a 60-​minute massage from Chuck, and it was phenomenal! Before the massage he asked for my problem areas and I could tell he paid extra attention to those spots. He was diligent and made sure to work on all the knots in my back and shoulders. If you are sore, have knots, or like deep tissue massages, Chuck is your guy!

I come to about faces for many services such as waxing and hair but this past week I got extensions done for the first time here and they turned out wonderful! It was a great experience and affordable. I would highly recommend this salon!

Services are generally pretty good. Wish their massage therapists were better trained. Front desk not super friendly. Loved the hydrotherapy bath!!!

I really enjoyed my visit at About Faces. My friends and I received the custom massage along with a mani/​pedi. The whole experience was so relaxing that I just wanted to go to sleep after leaving the place. All of the employees were very professional and friendly. When we first arrived, we were seated in a relaxation room where they had light snacks, tea and lemon water. The massage rooms were very clean and organized. My masseuse was a little rough with my fragile body. LOL. I don’t know if I was long over due and had that many «knots» to work out or if she was too rough but it was kind of painful. However, when it wasn’t painful, it was very relaxing.
The mani/​pedis I really enjoyed. I received a manicure with my regular nails that usually lasts a few days but it has been 2 weeks and the nail polish is still holding up! That is freaking amazing. When I move to Baltimore, I will be coming to this place for my mani/​pedis.
Oh I gave About Faces 4 stars because my masseuse had man hands and we were not offered wine when we first arrived. We had to ask for a glass of wine after we received our massages and mani/​pedis.

Woke up this morning in need of a facial and my husband in need of a hair cut, so did my research and called to see if they had availability to get us in this afternoon. We were both so happy they did! I went with an express peel (lunchtime peel) which used a brand called skincuentials. The aestheticians name was Lauren, and I highly recommend booking with her. She did a fantastic job! She was knowledgable and nice.
The ambiance to the spa side was pleasant. Typical spa music and dim lighting. The room was perfect; they had a heater on and the bed was heated as well which added extra comfort and was very relaxing.
Jess cut my husband hair and he was very happy with his experience! He was also happy that she wasn’t to pushy with buying products.
We are looking forward to coming back again next month!

location was totally booked.
I walked in + given the «hairy eyeball» +
walked me to the nail technician + spoke
rudely to me during my appointment + asked
if I paying or was this just a Gift Card + «told»
don’t forget my tip when you pay.

So I booked a massage and facial the day before I went to have the services done. They were able to accommodate my needs for time and date which I really appreciated on such short notice. I am a cosmetologist so I know what you are usually getting when booking and appointment the day before… the new girl, the girl who is trying to build a book, or someone who just happened I have an opening usually it’s the latter, so I didn’t have high hopes. I had Oh Soon for my massage, she was very professional and my massage was very good I was really relaxed and she was very nice. Onto my facial, I had Galina. She wasn’t very friendly at all. She asked me if I had regular facials which I don’t, my skin doesn’t have very many issues but tends to be sensitive. When I told her my skin was sensitive to some lotions and face washes she got an attitude when I couldn’t pin point exactly what it was the irritated my skin. Whether it irritated me during my facial or not I am usually not one to complain, I just want to relax and enjoy. She wore gloves the ENTIRE time which doesn’t feel good when someone’s rubbing your face and then massaging your arms. When I say massage I mean maybe 30 seconds on each arm. She didn’t go above or beyond for anything, basically she rubber cream on and wiped it off with smelly sponges. She rushed through the whole service maybe bc she thought that bc I said I didn’t get regular facials i wouldn’t be back, but if I would have loved my facial I would have pre booked another. Not only was my facial awful it was right next to the break room so I could hear ppl talking and laughing the entire time. I hated my facial, if I hadn’t had one before and knew what it should be like I would NEVER have one again.

I’ve had a massage and a brazilian. My massage was great and on par for what you expect at a quality spa. My wax was exceptional. I had Chrissy and she went above and beyond to tweeze and remove ingrowns and blackheads. She made me feel super comfortable. I don’t know what everyone is referring to with the bad service, you cannot beat the service here. Maybe bring a patient, up beat attitude people! A little bit goes a long way…

I haven’t been here in years but, I thought I would test them out and just like the Pikesville location they are snobbish and rude. I’m happy I only had an eyebrow wax done. Will never spend another penny with this chain. And my eyebrows are uneven because although I asked Galina if she needed to come to the other side for my brow she refused. I told her I was pregnant and she saw I had a hard time getting into her chair. She didn’t ask me if I was comfortable or try to adjust the chair … I think the chain seeks out rude staff. This is the second one I’ve been to. I also have a review for the Pikesville location

I went with my BFF and her mom to get manicures before a wedding. It was a Friday afternoon, but I wanted to upgrade from the standard to the shellac manicure. My nail tech quickly dismissed me and instead of saying «oh I’m sorry I won’t have enough time» just said «no. No time.» And the shellac takes what, 5 extra minutes? As a stylist at a competing salon, I was immediately turned off and found the girl to be very unprofessional. My overpriced standard manicure chipped within 24 hours. Didn’t even last until the wedding I was attending the following day. No thanks, I won’t go back.

Awesome. It doesn’t get better than spending your birthday morning getting a hydrotherapy bath and 90 minute (!!!) massage.
Everybody on staff was really friendly here. I got confused going back to the lounge after my hydrotherapy bath and a worker who was putting away towels immediately stopped and showed me where I needed to go.
Ok so back to the beginning. I had no idea what I was here for, my boyfriend wouldn’t tell me– he just dropped me off and said enjoy! So when they asked what I was in for I felt silly saying I had no idea but they looked it right up and got me changed into a robe and ready for my hydrotherapy bath. (The only thing I didn’t like was the robe. It was so thin! And when you were sitting in the lounge, there were sometimes other people there. Give me something more substantial!)
Imagine you’re in a nice warm bath when suddenly there’s an earth quake! The earthquake sends vibrations and currents through the water that feel like a dozen people giving you a light karate-​chop massage. That’s what the hydro bath feels like! It is not a hot tub, there are no jets so no annoying single points of contact. It was awesome.
I’ve had massages before but never a 90 minute. Oh my gosh. Those extra 30 minutes do wonders! I think my lady was named Alice and she was wonderful. She paid attention to what I asked and worked extra in areas that needed it. Fantastic and so relaxing!
I wasn’t paying but this place is pricey. I didn’t experience any of the issues others seemed to have here and was very happy with my birthday gift!
