I’m not from Baltimore but no matter what city you live in finding a good beauty supply store can be a task. I really like this one though because they have a wide variety of products and brands. They also have a good selection of cosmetic products. The staff is always very friendly and helpful whenever I come in.

You know how you walk into a beauty supply, and the staff simply ignores you or gives you a mean mug? Yeah, that doesn’t happen at Hair Town. The few times I’ve been, I’m always greeted, and the employees are always extremely helpful and willing to answer any questions and make suggestions. Plus, it’s a large space that is organized well. They sell some of everything, so if you need a wig, weave, perms, hair tools, etc., they’re likely to have it. In particular, I come for their reasonably priced 100% Shea Butter. The only reasons they don’t get 5 stars are because they don’t provide refunds(you get store credit instead), and some of the items are a bit overpriced(for example, I can get some of my natural hair care items for a few bucks cheaper at Target). All in all, the good definitely outweighs the bad. It’s the only Beauty Supply that I will continue patronizing since many others act like they’re doing me a favor. Check them out!

Found this place completely by accident. I was actually really hungry and had already passed two Subways when I figured I should go ahead and get my veggie sub grub to go. Busted a u-turn and saw this place hiding in the corner… Plenty of parking, shares a private lot with the shoe store next door and other stores in the shopping center. It’s extremely spacious so they have a wide variety of products from cosmetics to extensions. What had me salivating at the door was the sign mentioning an extra 10% off of items THATWEREALREADYMARKDOWNS! The beauty supply addicts know how amazing that is. When it comes to hair, you get you pay for so to have great quality hair items that are $ 20 cheaper than what you would usually pay, grab it! And finally, the only reason it didn’t make 5 stars is the staff. The seemed to be a great deal of confusion of the extent of the sale. The employee helping me would quote varies prices for items I wanted, while the cashier gave different prices. The manager heard the discussion and offered an apology for her employee, basically saying her math was wrong and she would be told so. The whole thing came off very unprofessional and got to the point where I just wanted to pay and leave. I’m sure that will be an isolated incident so I will return again.
