Harry and David

Do not place gift order through Harry and David central system. A business ordered me a gift basket for the holidays that probably cost over $ 150. When it came the pears obviously had been frozen. When I called on 12÷23÷15 to customer service they could not find the order even though I gave them my name and address as well as name and address of the sender. They said they would call me back that day with a resolution. No call and no resolution. I called back today, 12÷29÷15 and went thru the same drill. Not only do they have poor quality product that they sell at ridiculous prices, but they don’t have systems that can find orders. Their customer service is non-​responsive.
I won’t do business with their mail order again and suggest others don’t take the risk of sending expensive gifts that are really poor quality.
1÷7÷16 update. Finally did connect with a very good customer service person at their mail order operation. With much effort she did find my order and I received a replacement shipment yesterday. Still not happy with issues with their systems, but they did try to make issue right finally.

While I don’t consider myself to be a perfect gift giver, I’d like to think I’m more thoughtful than to succumb to getting some pre-​packaged crap in bulk to give out at Christmas. Think old ladies and fruit cakes.
My boyfriend Edward L. is on the other end of the spectrum and has an affinity for Harry & David. We were in Baltimore for the holidays and he was thrilled to see a physical store while we were browsing Towson Town Center. Admittedly, I hadn’t picked up anything for my grandmother or my favorite aunts and we were doing our best to shop for them.
The caveat to my approval: last minute discounts on holiday items. Two for one. Three for $ 12. Oh, and they had «gourmet» soup mix. We picked up 4 of them and my grandmother was thrilled.
So, maybe he’s on to something. I was just glad to have been able to get several gifts checked off our list in one stop. Plus, they grouped and plastic wrapped items. At that point the only effort I had to put into the process was choosing a bow color.

Everyone is always friendly. The samples are plentiful. I’m a fan of their relishes and their Moose Munch. I’ll pop in if I’m having a get together and just need some quick fixes for fun dips.
