So unfriendly and rude. Gone in for car repair and a few questions. Had the old fat dude talking over me the whole time and didn’t care to listen to concerns or opinions. That’s of course after he assumed I was a girl who knew nothing about cars and tried to completely rip me off. Walked right out and took it to an honest shop. Idc if ur good with cars or not, which now I won’t find out cause their attitude sucks, but customer service and treatment is v important as well. Don’t waste ur time here and don’t let them steal ur hard earned cash.

So happy I found this place. Wish I had found it before my last few trips to the dealer. So relieved to know there is still honest and straight-​forward car repair. And FAST. Thanks again!!!

I believe the work was done well and they are trustworthy as their reputation states. The price was not as good as expected. Called dealership while I was there to get an estimate to do the same job and they quoted me, $ 50 less! Surprised.

Took vehicle for tire rotation. Asked how long ½ hour. Came back ½ not done. ½ is usual for tire rotation. Saw hood up. Inquired. They were checking fluids. Took 1 hour to complete. They should have asked if I needed my fluids check or any other inspection other than what I asked to be worked on! Time is money to them well same here! I understand their point but they sound like they need child-​like instructions. Just do A and nothing else or do A and anything else you want to for FREE! Guys at desk sound intelligent so I guess when I need real work I’ll give them a second chance. Lost mechanic so trying to weed them out!

These guys are great, i came in with a pesky task I didn’t have the proper tools to perform and they acknowledging gave me a hand. When I asked what I owed them they said nothing! Most auto shops wouldn’t go out of there way like that.

This is the best place for auto repair. Staffs are so honest and surely coming back here.

Hollenshades has been serving our family for 40+ years. We would highly recommend them. Most recently, the son, took good care of my Mom. Quick response when she reached out to see if they could help. They told her to come right in and fixed the problem. Great service and integrity have us calling Hollenshades for our auto needs.

Only Auto Service location I trust sending my wife to by herself. Really great honest people run this local family business. Do not use over rated dealerships.

I’m relatively new to Hollenshade’s, but my extended family has used them for years. In the few times I’ve been there, I find them to be the most honest, high integrity shop you’ll find. They won’t make a repair that you don’t need and will admit if they don’t have the ability to properly fix something. They get you in and out on schedule and the prices are reasonable. What more could you ask for?

First time coming here… Great place! As I sat here in the waiting area, I hear them turn down chances to make hundreds of dollars. They are customer first auto service place!

So my alternator decided it was a perfect time to go bad but nonetheless I found this place from people’s reviews.
Firstly, I used their online scheduling service and got a response within 24 hrs to bring it in first thing Monday morning.
Once I got there, I was greeted by Tom and John and I explained my issue. John immediately got someone to check it out and in less than 30 mins I had my suspicions confirmed. He assured me that the job could be done in about 2 hrs so I waited. The job costed me about 400 bucks which I thought was a bit steep but I needed that done. With being new to the area, I wouldn’t have known anywhere else to go either. So I won’t complain.
They were welcoming and hospitable.
Service was done in the timeframe they said.
My only issue (and the reason I gave 4 stars) was they took at least 30 mins to process my paperwork after my car was brought out front and ready to go.
It is my opinion that customers who are waiting should have preference, not those who you have to call and update. I was upset by this. Although John apologized I think it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

The rear brake pads on my car were worn on one side but not the other. So based on the reviews, I called to make an appt to have my car looked at. The guy who spoke to me said it may take a few hours and they may keep it overnight to diagnose and fix the problem. He also said it may involve extra costs depending in the condition. Which is understandable. I said I just wanted them to find out whats wrong with the car first and then go from there. He said they can not just take some parts apart and then put it back without fixing it! Well, why would you charge fees for diagnostics? And when I asked what if I could not afford the cost of fixing the car since I am a student and it may take me a while to come up with the money. He said «Then you should not be driving» WTF!!! SERIOUSLY!!! I just laughed, hung up and looked for a REAL and PROFESSIONAL mechanic.

I am naturally fussy when it comes to purchasing a vehicle and my list of mandatory vehicle requirements (as well as added vanity features).
Moreover, I am extremely picky about where I service my car.
As a long standing loyal customer, there’s never a question in my mind where my vehicle gets quality auto repair service — Hollenshades.
I grew up knowing the value and integrity of the Hollenshades name. My family has always received honest recommendations and vehicle service from this family operation.
For oil changes, preventative maintenance, or major auto repair, the lifetime of my vehicle depends on Hollenshades.

I am young and know squat about cars. I have been going here for about 6 months, on the recommendation of a friend. They are honest and don’t upsell. They also take the time to explain things to you, and in short, are what a business should be.

The service of Hollenshade’s is remarkable! They are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and realistic about the situation with my car. With that said, I have been in there several times to have something checked out to see if it was a problem or not and they don’t charge for the diagnostic issues I’ve had and only charged when I’ve needed actual maintenance performed on my car.

I didn’t think honest mechanics existed. This place proved me wrong. In my experience, they have never recommended any unecessary work (which has saved me a lot of money and aggravation) and are very thorough in explaining any underlying issues with my vehicle. The mechanics and staff are friendly and appear to really enjoy what they do which is refreshing. I highly recommend this place.

5 stars for their HONESTY! I noticed my 2011 Hyundai Accent acting strange and the check engine light came on, and I immediately took it in to them. I also needed an oil change. They did an oil change ($ 30, a good price), and looked at my car, while I waited (didn’t take them long at all). They said that one of my cylinders was misfiring (still no idea what that means!) and I should take it to the dealership because a repair would probably be covered under warranty. Now that is an honest mechanic! I know a lot of places would never try and help me save money like that, and instead write me up a hefty quote. I will definitely go there if/​when my car has any more trouble. I highly recommend them.

If you’re looking for honest, reliable mechanics take your car to Hollenshades. I was recommended to them several years ago from a friend, and even after moving I continue to bring my car to Hollenshades (and only them). They’re the best!

Hollenshades is nice is costumer service and quality assurance.
The reason why I’m rating them pretty low is because THEY ARE A RIP OFF!
I can honestly say this because my father is a mechanic and doesn’t charge people the prices that this place does.
They tried to charge me almost 1k for replacing my break pads, rooters, and possibly putting back on parking break feet (because they tend to fall off when you take apart the rooters to replace them).
My boyfriend also took his car here to get it checked out because he was experiencing «squeaking breaks». He specifically told them to just check the breaks and fix them and that was all.
Unfortunately they did more than that and charged him wayy more than was need to be charged. This was BEYOND not needed.
Hollenshades Wanted to replace rotors, shoes, overhaul the whole braking system at the front wheels for like $ 600. They had already had everything apart when they called my boyfriend and told him what they wanted to do. Overall, it wound up costing $ 250 for resurfacing the rotors and lubing the system.
WE WILL NEVER GO HERE EVER AGAIN!
