Great local business! My husband and I were visiting friends in the Baltimore area who were thrilled to take us to this bar and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. Such a nice local vibe, staff was so friendly — truly felt like somewhere where everyone would know your name! You must try the orange crush, so delicious!

RJ brought me here for dinner on Sept. 9, and we sat at an outside table. Our waiter was friendly and talked football with RJ. We ordered curry chicken skewers, and I had a Greek salad with olives and feta, and RJ had a chicken Caesar salad. The service was fast, and the food was great. I don’t like yellow curry, but the chicken was juicy and full of spice and flavor. Our salads were huge and delicious.

An out-​of-​town friend and I visited for before-​dinner drinks on a Friday. I had just moved to Towson and was unaware of the remodel. I was pleasantly surprised by the aesthetic.
We managed to get seats at the bar just before it was slammed with folks older than we. The male bartender working that evening seemed to be ignoring us while serving the rest of the crowd.
When he finally accommodated us, he gave what we interpreted as a snide remark after my friend asked for a whisky cocktail recommendation.
We quickly paid and left because of the loud atmosphere and the service.

I went there for lunch on a Wednesday. Had the Maryland crab soup and house salad. The soup was served room temperature, it was tasteless. The salad was from a bag, the ranch dressing was from a bottle. With a Diet Pepsi and tip it was 17 bucks. Expensive and terrible.

Food doesn’t match the online the menu. Service is non-​caring and nondescript. Have been there twice and been disappointed.

This was the most underwhelming order of wings and sweet potato fries that I’ve had in a long, long time. And I’m 98% sure that their «house wing sauce» is just hot sauce and ketchup combined.
I’m by no means a food snob… Quite the opposite as I really enjoy some good ‘ol bar food, but I’m telling you to venture elsewhere if you’re looking for food in the area — plenty of other options nearby.
Note: bar staff was nice though.

Back in the day this was one of my waterholes when I was in graduate school at TU. This was the first time I had brunch or any solid food meal here. In the past I am aways on a liquid diet when here. It was a rough morning, since the day before I was at the Foo Fighter 4^th of July Concert and overindulged in adult liquid refreshments. Because of this I had to start with a water, Coke, and beer, so I could start feeling better (if wondering, there three beverages did the trick). For food I went with St. Mary’s Benedict and it was very tasty. Dined outside, so we could people watch. Out server was great and took real good care of us.

the beef chili is incredible.

Went on a Friday night after «Feet On The Street». They recently remodeled. It definitely looks nicer. Kinda retro. It was incredibly loud. I suppose thats to somewhat be expected.
Kitchen closed at 9:50 for main food. Wings weren’t listed as a late night item menu option… But the waitress managed to get some… A late night portion size (2 less). So there’s a portion size for late night but it’s not listed on the menu?
The orange crush was pretty terrible. Mint mojito was too sweet.
Crowd demographic is 30+ which is neither here nor there.

I love the remodeling at Souris’ Saloon. I just left there at just had to write a review. First of all, they offer oyster shooters with either a beer or vodka base. They are excellent! We had the wings, served with celery and blue cheese, that were also great. There was a nice, friendly happy hour crowd. What was also impressive was live music provided by Amanda Lynne. When she sang «At Last» I tried to get my partner to dance, but he refused. She has the voice of an angel. Finally, a place in Towson for the rest of us. I will return, probably tomorrow.

Marginal food at best. Waitress got my order wrong. The wifi did not work and no one really cared. Three strikes for me. I won’t return here again.

This place has a large space to work with, but it seems cramped inside. They use Fantastic on the tables & you can smell it when you’re seated. Also, there are very noticeable dusty spiderwebs on the light up beer signs.
I came in for their great draft selection, but it wasn’t so great that I will come back. The gravy fries & onion rings were a little greasy (and made my tummy hurt a little later), but they were hot & delicious. Street parking is free after 6 pm, but is tricky in such a busy area. There are pay parking garages nearby.

I love playing Trivia, and they are starting Team Trivia here on Wed nights so I’m giving it a try. Go O’s!

Great local pub. Good pub fare with great service — Cassie is awesome! Lots of beer choices.

I broke my previous recommendation and tried the food. What a mistake.
Food review/​Dining Experience Review– just got back from Souris Saloon 20 minutes ago.
We went there because we had a livings social deal. I bought it for $ 15 for $ 30 worth of food+drink. When you show up at a place at 7pm on a Saturday night and you are the only ones in the place that should raise the red warning flags. I ignored them and we proceeded to sit down in an empty booth. Immediately we smelled a strange smell. I recognized the smell, it was very familiar. It smelled exactly like my old fraternity house basement the morning after a party… awful.
My date and I figured, what the hell, it is a dive bar, lets get drinks. She ordered a Guinness and I ordered a jack and coke. The Guinness came with some extra protein. There was a fly that rose to the top of the glass, disgusting. The Jack and coke was alright, however I would of preferred it in a small glass. It was in tall pint glass with a lot of soda. The way I usually drink them is more Jack and less coke in a small rox glass. I believe most people drink Jack and cokes that way.
On to the food… oh man. The crab dip had zero crab in it. They must have bought crab flavoring instead. It is a recession after all. I ordered the fish and chips and expected fried flounder or white fish equivalent and fries. I got 3 fish sticks that may have been frozen Gordon’s brand. It was unreal. My date got a chicken cheese steak. How can you mess that up you ask? Apparently it is not as impossible as one would think. They never broke up the frozen chicken meat they threw on the grill and it was under cooked. It had no melted cheese on it and the bread was awful. Top that with loose tomatoes and lettuce and you have the worst dried out cheese steak on the planet.
I did not complain b/​c the waitress was nice. However when asked what is good here, she should tell the customers truthfully and say NOTHING. The only redeeming quality of this bar is too pregame before you go out in to other spots in Towson, as their drinks are decent, at least they are if there are no flies wandering around. But after today I am not even sure I would order anything off tap ever again. If they are promoting the place with living social deals, they should improve the food quality. Has the owner ever eaten here?

This place is a GREAT townie college bar. It has an awesome brunch, grilled cheese and burger… Oh yeah and great booze selection. Decent prices and awesome staff! It is my go-​to.

ok so I didnt stay long at this bar, mainly because I was done with my night and wanted to go home, but the rest of the group wanted to do something else so we ended up here.
Watched a bit of baseball on the tv’s and had the crew had a bunch of beers and i had 2 shots of tequila. No huge distinction between this place and a bunch of other bars, perhaps since we werent eating food– i didnt get the full ambience of the place? Who knows. It was pretty quiet inside, just a couple of people till my friends and i showed up. The wait staff was pretty attentive and helpful.

Sorry that this is going to be a lengthy review! I just want to back up why I had such a bad experience with the burger, so future clients can know to order something else.
Unfortunately, because the atmosphere is cozy and the servers are helpful and nice, the food is an abomination.
I understand that this is a bar, and many go to bars just for the alcohol, but there is a minimum level of food quality any place should achieve.
The diet coke was stale, but that can be overlooked. The fried clams, though clearly not breaded to order, were decent. The fries were decent as well.
But the burger! I ordered a Blue Burger, which I’m assuming due to the blue cheese was pricey, a little over 8 dollars. What I got on my plate was this:
_​White, cold, incredibly dry, and slightly sour tasting bun. This type of bun, dry and sour tasting, is a terrible choice for a burger because you end up chewing it long after the meat was been chewed so its the main thing you taste. If you can’t get a good white bun, go for a challah or potato bun as their slight sweeteness and softness compliments the meat without getting in the way of it. It wasn’t toasted either, which takes a second on a flat top grill and which every other restaurant I’ve been to does.
_​The burger itself had the condensed texture of meatloaf. It was cold, which suggests it was precooked and I can’t imagine why anyone would do that. It had no juiciness and was overly ground. I ordered it medium, it came well done. But never mind that, well done burgers can be good, not this one! I suspect three things: that the patty has salt mixed into it (which creates the meatloaf texture) instead of sprinkled on top, that it was smooshed a lot with a spatula while on the grill (removes any juices inside), and that this «freshly ground» burger was ground for too long, and then overly handled and remixed.
_​The mushrooms on this burger, I kid you not, were taken straight out of a can. There was not even any heating in a skillet of it done to mask the fact that they’re canned. They were cold, tasteless, and carelessly sprinkled in.
_​And now, for the insulting part of the burger. The «Blue Cheese» part. I know blue cheese, I eat it regularly as is with a grape or some bread. Blue cheese burgers either have actual blue cheese bits in it, or are incorporated in a sauce where the blue cheese flavor is the main flavor. Here, it was a lemony white cream sauce, none of the dark blue flecks and none of the blue cheese flavor, which means this had no blue cheese in it at all. And thats what makes the burger expensive! The brown gravy that came with it tasted store bought and bland, and both sauces were as cold as if they were taken out of the fridge and squirted on.
_​The ratios: There was a lot of bun, very little burger. The burger had clearly shrunk a lot while cooking. The way you avoid this small patty problem, is you either make the patty wider than the bun, or you make a small indent in the middle of it in with your thumb (this keeps it from shrinking at all). You are essentially eating cold dry bread, soaked in gravy and cream sauce, with canned mushrooms thrown in and little bits of tasteless meatloaf hiding in the sauce.
In conclusion, come here for beer or drinks, but whatever you do stay far, far away from their burgers. They’re very cheaply made, and you’re paying good money for them. Not even an ounce of effort goes into it, and that’s a shame as the service, location and decoration are all great.
One thing Souris Saloon should know: If you can’t make a item, don’t offer it just for the sake of variety on the menu. Stick to what you know, or learn to make a half decent burger. And it’s dishonnest to call a burger a «blue cheese burger», thus making it expensive, and then not put in any blue cheese to save costs. You’re losing clients.
Also, everything that could be cold and stale on this burger was, from the bun to the meat to the sauce to the toppings. Was I given a old burger that someone didn’t want? If a business has such lack of respect for its customer that it would do that to save money, then who knows what else they’re doing to your food.

Great place for a Friday night with friends… its close to everything in Towson and the drinks are good! The Kind Tea (sp?) shot is great… only place you can get this…

epicentre of towson. Hence this is where i drink whenever in towson. Great staff and great environment. many a fun nights blacking out hear and getting kicked out. Now that im older and have a very close relationship with the bartenders they allow me to stay and kick out whoever is egging me on.
