Trader Joe’s

I just left there after buying six items. I used my credit card with a chip. The cashier was all kinds of rude when the transaction didn’t go through properly. She raised her voice, grabbed my hand away from the keypad, rolled her eyes, and made me feel like a kid who spilled her milk on important papers. Show some respect miss! How would you like someone to treat your grandma that way. Shame on you.

Need a snack, food staple, greeting card and/​or toothpaste? TJ’s is your spot. [Almost] all the ease of a ‘Quick Stop’ without the frustration of a lotto machine, extortionate prices or Randal.
Each Trader Joe’s [tries] to reflect the surrounding neighborhood and the Towson location succeeds by incorporating B’more charm in its décor; my favorite being a hand-​painted homage to local film director John Waters.
I want to briefly address the most common gripe: parking. Yes, with the recent completion of the Cinemark theater and bevy of chain restaurants that followed, parking is at a premium. During peak hours one will likely find it difficult to get a great parking spot — that statement applies to many businesses. Keep in mind that the Towson location is servicing 600−800% more customers than it was originally designed to handle. No doubt current volume is a major reason why the store will be moving to Kenilworth in 2017.
The staff do a wonderful job keeping up with the demand and given the absurdly fast turnover the produce selection is often very fresh. Speaking of, all produce/​fruit is priced per piece, not by the pound. Larger items tend to sell first so if you see someone re-​stocking an item you want, make that a priority so you can snag the choice ingredients.
Free coffee and samples can be found in the back of a store if you want a caffeine boost or an idea for a fast meal — an amenity some ‘shoppers’ flagrantly abuse… people doing shots of coffee like it’s last call at an open bar.

I love Trader Joe’s and its products but came up Joppa Rd. And saw signs for TJ’s on both sides of the road (before the traffic circle) and multiple signs about parking. I couldn’t see the store so didn’t know where was the best place to park, and circled around in Christmas shopping traffic until I gave up. I have no idea where this store is.

I have nothing to complain about this place. I’m very happy that they have one in MD. Reasonably priced products. This is the only place where I would buy and actually eat frozen food, but it’s because they haven’t disappointed me.
Love, love this place so I’m definitely a regular.

We love Trader Joes. We travel 50 miles to the nearest one. Please come to York Pa. We will buy all our needs there.

I laughed when I saw that several reviewers complained about the parking at this Trader Joe’s. I’d like to cordially invite anyone that thinks that this is a parking nightmare to come to the Trader Joe’s in Tampa, FL. We’ve got the smallest parking lot imaginable that is beyond painful to navigate during busy times. Having a multi-​story parking garage for a mall next to a Trader Joe’s is like a dream come true for me. After we went to the mall we walked to TJ’s, which is really close to the parking garage. One thing that is strange is that the store is located *under* the main road you would think that it would be on. Super confusing and I’m glad I had someone with me who knew what they were doing. I didn’t have any complaints about the store itself. They had all of my favorites in stock, especially my sea salt and turbinado sugar dark chocolate covered almonds. I’ll put up with any parking situation to get those.

Usually well stocked, clean, and staff super helpful. Vegan friendly. Has all the favorites. Great option/​alternative to WFM if you can’t get there/​afford it. Parking lot can be tricky; be prepared to circle on weekends/​evenings. Preferred grocery store. Long time favorite.

They were either sold out or don’t stock at least three items I regularly get at the Pikesville store. Cheese and cured meats are really cheap here, so there’s my holiday cheese and charcuterie plate. Their smoked salmon is really good, too. I personally don’t see what the parking issues are here. I’ve never had a problem. The crowd in Pikesville would rather run you over than lose a parking space, and I’ve never had that issue here. Both locations are convenient to me, but I’d rather not gamble that my staples will be here.

I live trader Joe’s especially the produce it is much fresher than the regular grocery stores so it doesn’t spoil as quick. The only negative is the parking lot Ave depending on what day you go they tend to be out of stock. I suggest going in the middle of the week before everyone gets off if you have that option of course.

I love Trader Joe’s, and despite the poor parking situation, I love this location. And, if I’m honest, I usually go here when I’m already at the mall anyway! It’s a bit of a hike from Harford County otherwise… If you’ve got a sweet tooth, do yourself a favor and go try out the cookie butter, for dieters, the guilt-​free mac and cheese is solid, and they have tons of salad and produce selections.

Small, not a ton of selections, but clean and the employees were all friendly and very polite.

Great Trader Joe’s — you will see the usual mix of well-​heeled folks debating organic vs. all natural, and though the produce is cheaper at a chain supermarket, the prepackaged meals and ingredients are far cheaper that «upscale» markets like Whole Foods.
Also, parking here is a nightmare. If you park in the garage to go here, they can tow you — I recommend doing a circle through the mall then hitting up the TJ’s. You won’t get towed AND you feel like a spy.

Yes, yes, the parking here is a nightmare. Yes, you can’t buy wine or beer here (Damn you Maryland liquor laws). Yes, on the weekend, it’s crowded and your favorite item might not be available. BUT, in all fairness, what do you expect from a place with a cult following that is inexpensive and delicious?
I will be honest, I avoid this location on the weekends, if at all possible, and only go after 7pm if I have to go. I am not a big fan of the crowds, and it’s so much more manageable during the week. I love the variety of food, my favorite snack for the teenager is the bag of Chicken Potstickers, priced under $ 3– it’s a tasty and fairly healthy snack.
The staff here is amazing, generally Trader’s Joe’s employees are, but I have never ran into an employee here who is annoyed or not willing to go out of their way to help you.

Who doesn’t love Trader’s? Well, I do but not this location, unfortunately, and it breaks my heart. The parking is not customer friendly at all. Also, I love to come to any TJ and pick up some great finds, wine and cheese. But no 2 Buck Chuck here *record scratch*. Not Trader’s fault but Maryland liquor laws, but I’m so used to going in and buying my flowers, dog treats, cheese, but no wine! Guess when I’m in Virginia…

I have recently become a Trader Joe’s junkie. I had been to one TJ location before, out in Pittsburgh, PA and liked it. So a friend and I decided to stop at this store a few days ago to check it out. You can find so many unique items that aren’t found at most places and the prices are very affordable. I love the fresh salads found in the produce section. I got a Chinese Chicken salad with a sesame soy dressing that was fantastic, and a Mexicali salad that was tasty as well. I love that I can get almond meal here for about half the price that I pay in my home area. It’s about an hour drive for me, but I know that I will definitely be heading back here whenever I’m in the area.

Since I live in Pennsylvania Trader Joes isn’t exactly close. A friend and I decide to stop in the other day and take a look around. They had a lot of things you cant find at most grocery stores. I wish we had one near by cause I would definitely start shopping there. I picked up a few things but I could’ve easily spent more money. If you like chocolate and macadam nuts I recommend Lacey’s cookies, YUM!!!

It is a tiny Joe’s, tucked under the road (literally), and I had heard one existed in Towson but hadn’t seen it until I stumbled upon it by accident. It seems very, very small compared to others I have visited (compared to Bethesda, etc).
One of the main points of Joe’s is the inexpensive wine, and since this is Maryland, you can’t buy wine here, so…

The products at trader joe’s if you aren’t a health nut tend to be hit or miss. They are often products you wish you could find everywhere, or products you don’t know why they even bother making them for lack of creativity or taste. Many things are vegetarian, vegan, fat free salt free so if you are trying to watch your weight or you have a particular lifestyle or diet this is the place for you.
Prices are also very hit or miss. Things are either very expensive like their meat products or very affordable. M usual shopping bill is usually around $ 100 but only because i cant find everything im looking for. I still keep coming back for those few favorite items though.
As for customer service they are very flexible and work quickly in terms of the way they bag their groceries and will often make conversation. You can also grab a staff member and they will help you find something on the spot, since it can be difficult to locate an item at times.
Isles are very cluttered, its a very small store with a lot of customers and staff, boxes are constantly being unpacked or sitting in isles it’s definitely an obstacle course.
Overall not a great experience but not terrible either, it has its ups and downs.

Obviously, everything you will purchase at Trader Joe’s will be amazing. Five stars for the food. That is not the issue here. The issue is the store itself. The location is simply not able to appropriately accomodate the volume of people it serves. Now, I realize that visiting any Trader Joe’s can be a trying experience. (Special shout-​out to the nightmarish conditions of the Union Square/​NYC location, where you basically get in line as you enter the door, because it is so long it will snake through every aisle so you can shop while in line.) But from beginning to end, visiting this location can be anxiety-​inducing.
First, there is the parking lot, located below street level and attached to the Towson Town Center. It is extremely awkward and too small. It will take you awhile to find a space. Then, there is the crowded store itself. There are just too many people. I have had my feet maimed by more carts than I can count. After awkwardly shuffling through the aisles, you will most likely need to wait in a long line. You really want to try and go at an off-​peak time.
I have also had some issues with product availability at this location. They frequently sell out of popular things, and also stock things very variably. For example, one week around Thanksgiving they had canned pumpkin, the next week they didn’t. So I often find myself making a trip to a second grocery store to fill in the gaps. Their produce is also a weak point, since they don’t have much variety. Most of this is forgiveable, since their products are so consistently good. The staff is also excellent. Really, they just badly need a new location.

This is my go to place to shop for healthy, fresh, organic food. One thing to note is parking can be tricky. TJ’s has a tiny parking lot which can prove to be difficult to maneuver when there is a mad rush of shoppers, but after a while you get used to it once you get the hang of it. I have noticed some shoppers elect to park outside of the small parking lot and instead park closer to the mall and walk over, but I luckily have never had to do that.
The workers are quite friendly at this location. I have been pleased to show up about 10 minutes before closing one time and not one employee rushed the shoppers out. I made a point to get my shopping done in time for closing, but there were still about 10 other shoppers wandering about. When I thanked the guy working the register for not rushing us out even though it was past closing, he replied in a laid back manner that it was no problem at all. I loved that.
Moving around the store can sometimes be crowded and chaotic depending on how many other shoppers are there. I still am usually able to find a lot of what I am looking for and reserve this place as my first stop for groceries. Samples are provided if you want to partake of any featured products. The workers are very helpful and look to answer any questions you may have. I was also pleased upon checkout that some of the employees working the registry will organize your purchases in a way that it fits best in your paper bags. I appreciate this because the less bags to carry the better. They make a point though to not overfill the bags to their breaking point. I think that is such a thoughtful method that is much appreciated in my book versus just throwing your items all in your overflowing bag… wasting space and paper bags.
