This review is for the optical sales side only not for the doctors. Doctors are great. Sorry this is a long review.
I found a specific frame that I really wanted from another optical store but it would be take 4 weeks to get in. So I came here. Optician told me it should only take a week to order the frame. 3 ½ weeks later the frame finally comes in only after I kept calling week after week. I finally got a call that the frame came in. Great! I made an appointment to come in so I can get fitted etc. when I got in, they couldn’t find the frame! Wth? There happened to be a frame sale that day at the office so while they were hunting down frame order I was looking around. And there was my frame. On display. At this point I’m frustrated.
I picked the frame and held on to it. In the meantime the lovely lady comes back and says «here are you frames». She showed me 2 frames that weren’t even what I had ordered. Same company diff frame. I told her that’s not what I ordered. More frustration.
I handed her the frame that I DID want and that should have been ordered but wasn’t.
We went through the order process fine and I got the hell out. I’m not coming back here to order glasses ever again.
Don’t come here if you want to order glasses. Go somewhere else. Even Sears optical gives you better service. At least they won’t lose your Order and they will call you and keep you updated.

Both Dr. Moline and Dr. Yee are excellent. They take the time to answer questions you may have. The staff are great as well. Whenever I have to choose frames, I can take quite a while as they have so many to choose from. But I rely on them to help me make the right choice as to what looks good and what would better suit me based on my habits and needs. Excellent place to go to if you’re looking for eye care professionals. I highly recommend them.

So the experience was ok. Rushed through the process, they didn’t really take time to explain everything. I felt like I was on an assembly line. They said it would take two weeks to get my glasses, so far it’s been three and I still don’t have them. I am told it isn’t their fault, umm yes it is… Don’t tell someone something and not accept responsibility when it doesn’t happen… I will not return.

My parents brought me here as a kid. They left because they felt like they were at a used car sales lot at every appointment. That was a dozen years ago, so my husband and I ended up giving them another try due to the great Unilocal reviews. Bad decision on my part.
My husband only needed an annual eye exam. He wears glasses however they really tried to sell him on being fitted for contacts. He wasn’t interested but it didn’t stop them from harassing him about it during his entire visit. Then, he went to order new glasses from an online retailer he’s used in the past. He called Tracy optometry to get a copy of his prescription. They had him come back for a prescription and then tried to charge him extra because they didn’t get his pupillary distance the first time. After a ‘wonderful’ conversation about the fact that our insurance already paid them, they finally (but not happily) gave us his prescription. He got his glasses, used them for a few weeks, continually got dizzy from them and discovered that it was due to inaccurate pupillary distance on his prescription. We had the problem corrected (not here) and he has a great pair of glasses now.
For me: I went in for my annual eye exam. They had me fill out a dry eye survey (which I already knew I had.) I talked to Dr. Moline about this and he described this «amazing» procedure with a machine that «very few offices can afford.» He explained that I would have to come back for it and that it would cost $ 99. Awesome! Right? Nope. Wrong.
I came back a few days later for my magical dry eye fixer only to be told «this machine is going to test you for dry eyes. You’ll be charged $ 99 and then if your eyes are ‘dry enough’ you can schedule to have the procedure.»
Wait. This machine just tests to see whether I have dry eyes? I KNOW I have dry eyes. Dr Moline went over my symptoms and agreed that I have dry eyes. Why would I pay $ 99 to be told something we already know?
I was then sent to talk to Dr Moline about the confusion. I asked what other options there were? I asked if this machine is so rare and expensive then how do other offices handle dry eyes? I also asked about Restasis — to which he scoffed and told me that it’s expensive, my insurance won’t cover it and it doesn’t work. According to him, this machine was the miracle cure for dry eyes and that was my only option here.
Oh, he also suggested his «other business» of vision correction after I pay thousands to get my dry eyes corrected. Ya know, just a few more grand. Then, they tried to get me to go to a «seminar for dry eyes» which actually turned out to be nothing more than a timeshare-​like presentation on their fancy machine. No, thank you.
I left and never bothered to come back. However I did get a bill for $ 60. Called our insurance who told us that we didn’t owe Tracy optometry a dime. We called Tracy optometry and was rudely told that it was for my second appointment. «Oh, you mean the one where I sat and listened to a shady sales pitch from an eye doctor?!» By the way, the entire staff is friendly so long as you are throwing money their way. They continued to send a bill over a period of about six months. I called my insurance again and they handled the problem for me (thankfully). I did not give this shady place another penny.
Oh, I also got my contact prescription renewed at my appointment… for $ 50… I’ve used contacts for ten years and have never paid a «fitting fee» at any other optometrist office. It is not «standard» by any means.
I ended up going to Dr O’Neil on Eaton after this. He did my contact lens prescription (without charging me), he tested for dry eyes in his office (without charging me), and gladly put in a prescription for Restasis (which ended up being 100% covered by my insurance). Their selection of glasses is excellent and they really work with finding something for your budget!
If you want to listen to a bunch of sales people, then go to Tracy Optometry. They care very strongly about one thing: MONEY. You might notice the other negative reviews have also realized the same thing about this place.
Oh, and it’s been six months since using Restasis and I already notice a huge difference in my dry eye issue — without paying thousands of dollars to this corrupt business :)
Additional: I could reply to every excuse by Dr. Yee, but I won’t bother. I will, however, make note that the contact lens «evaluation» done at Tracy optometry went like this:
Technician (not optometrist): «here, put these in… How do they feel? Good? Okay!»
Dr. Moline comes in. Without even looking or examining any part of my eyes with contacts: «so how do those feel? Good? Okay, we will put in a prescription.»

I’ve been going to Tracy Optometry for about 3 years, give or take. This is my first review about Tracy Optometry. I started here when my insurance switched to VSP. It got great reviews and I loved the walls and walls of frames to choose from. They have frames in all price ranges. I love the many choices compared to Kaiser.
Recently, I thought about trying contacts. This time I inquired about going with contacts. I think they were good in answering my questions. There was a confusion about my insurance coverage, meaning I was a little confused. Here is my problem. I think with talk of contacts and Dr. Yee helping a patient while the staff fit me with sample contacts I realized days later, my exam wasn’t completed. I was never dilated. The doctor never viewed my eyes in the «thing» (whatever it’s called}. Anyway, I called their offices and the lady said she would put in the record. That not doing that part, didn’t affect my prescription as I feared.
Here is my «issue». When you get contacts, I guess, all or most charge a fitting fee. Okay. I just think the amount is expensive. First I was told it was $ 170. Then, it was $ 200 because this was my first time. I’ve seen prices for fitting fees at optometrists before, it never affected me. I decided to call Costco. I’m on a budget, like most people, and their fitting fee is $ 95 or a little less. That’s a big difference.
Hey, I guess I have a choice, that’s too pay $ 200 for the fitting or go somewhere else. I will probably do that. I’m not saying, I won’t continue with Tracy Optometry, because I’ve been happy, it’s just that paying that amount is huge. This is a straight forward honest review on the fitting fee. Maybe they have a recent to charge such a huge amount. Sometimes, you have to be a little more reasonable. Hey, it makes your customers happy.

My daughter received her first pair of glasses two years ago. I always strive to find providers that I hope will make my daughter’s experience pleasant. The staff was very polite and didn’t try to «upsell» me, even though I was paying out-​of-​pocket. Dr. Yee was very kind and patient with my daughter.

The staff is great. They are very professional and always pleasant. I had a lipi flow procedure last month. The doctors are very friendly and care about their patients. I was very happy with the outcome.

So for the past 3 years I have been coming here, but after this last visit on 12÷03÷15; this will be my last time. So I didn’t make an appointment, I show up in the middle of the day and the door is closed; I guess they are having a meeting but how about a sign on the door for your patients? This should have been my sign to go home and come back for some other day. So I decide to go run around and do some other stuff and come back later. I go back and they put me with a new employee, but forgot to tell me about it. And the minute I sit down «The Manager» walked by and then sat right across from us; not a I’m here to help, but way but a uncomfortable way. He finally came over to help this poor girl, which is what he should have done in the first place, no one has all day to sit here. Then I find out somethings has really changed. For example last time when you order your glasses, you put down half of what your your insurance doesn’t cover and pay the rest when you pick up. Well Nope not anymore you now have to pay it all up front. When asked «Mr Manager» told me we don’t do that anymore; so I said so you guys changed your that in the past year? Did you send out a letter to inform your Customers? Well I was told «No» because they didn’t have to do that anyways; so no letter was needed to sent out; they just did it just to help people out and after some people wasn’t paying their bill the doctors decided to stop doing it. I paid extra to have an anti scratch put onto my pair of glasses last year and guess what? I had a nice big scratch and when I asked about it; I was told well you will still get scratches; but it’s still within warranty so we will send it out and fix it. I thought that’s the point of paying not to get scratches??? After this visit, they have lost me as a customer. Costco has better service than this and their prices are better also.

I recently came here with my bf to his eye appointment and was really impressed with the Practice and I wasn’t even the patient. I was a patient here many years ago and since then they have redone the look of the office. It looks great! Everyone was professional and polite. I especially want to give a shout out to Desirae, the optician. She helped my bf with his glasses order and she was very helpful and informative.
I actually work at another eye care practice and I’m embarrassed to say that Tracy Optometry is way more impressive than the practice I work for. 5 stars for sure!

I’ve been going there for several years. They seem knowledgeable & have all the latest technology to do their eye assessments and a great variety of fashionable frames to choose from. Their prices are ok but the anti glare and scratch proof protection aren’t covered by my insurance which make the out of pocket expenses a lot higher. Their staff is friendly but sometimes I feel like they are a bit green out of school so they don’t have the personal professional skills needed to work with mature clients. Overall I have been satisfied with their office.

Had an appt at 815am Saturday morning. Convenient for me because i cant get appts like this during the week because of commuting. My daughter’s and I needed an exam. Nice office and location is ok. Too bad it was the Farmers market so we had to walk a little bit. The techs that did the first part of the exam were friendly. However one didn’t warn my 9 year old about the air that would be blown into her eyes. She was mad. Lol
The doctor was nice and friendly. She explained everything to me. I wasn’t pressured to buy anything. Cant wait to go back and get my frames.
It would of been 5 stars but since the tech didnt warn my daughter and i felt like the tech didnt want to be there i gave 4 stars. I’ll make sure someone else helps me.

I have been visiting this place since 2009, and pretty satisfied with their customer and health care services. Their frames are up to date with fashion and are affordable as well. Most of the frames were covered by my insurance, so I ended up paying very small co payment. Overall, pretty satisfied

Only 2 stars because Dr. Yee has terrible patient manners and is very aloof. Dr. Moline is better but can be put off if you don’t agree with everything he says or wants you to do… regardless of the cost. Plus $ 300+ to be fitted with progressive contacts seems high. Some of their staff, like the office folks are great, but some of the technicians can badger you if you aren’t buying the extras they want you to do.
My family gave them multiple tries after bad experiences, until enough is enough. Three strikes and your out.

I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes. I get handle great the entire time. Definitely would recommend for friends and family.

My husband and I have been going to Tracy Optometry for many years I have never ever had a problem with making or getting an appointment. I really love the modern technology that they have. No more of this guessing how your glasses are going to turn out The staff is very friendly and make you feel very comfortable, thanks Jared! The office is very clean as for I do cleaning for a living…

Dr. Yee and Dr. Moline are the best! I’ve been treated by both doctors and they are both very understanding! We’ve had been with Tracy Optometry for about 9 years and I absolutely loved every second of it. I wish we still had the same insurance so I could continue to go there. Both doctors took me in on the same day when I had an eye emergency. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. You do need an appointment but they always found a way to fit me when there is an emergency. The glasses selection is plentiful. The doctors make you feel so comfortable and they are very patient when you have questions and concerns. If you have the right insurance, I highly recommend Tracy Optometry!

Yesterday was my first time at Tracy Optometry. Everyone was very nice, courteous, and professional. Office staff assisted me with paperwork which took hardly anytime. I like the fact they emailed me a patient form to complete. The technician was very thorough and explained everything to me. Dr Clark was amazing she made me understand everything that was happening and results of each test. The eyeglass guy explained my insurance thoroughly and helped me make my final decision on glasses. They made me aware of the pricing of each test and asked me if I wanted one test. I was already aware of the pricing because I visited their website and it was all there so nothing came as a surprise.

Apparently you can’t even walk in and look at glasses here without an appointment. Or even ask a few questions about prices without an appointment. I have kaiser and my son had already seen an eye doctor and received an Rx that day. When I asked about pricing I was quoted a ridiculously high number and was told 4 times in a 2 minute conversation I have to make an appointment. So don’t go to this jacked up ridiculous place to shop because you need a freaking appointment.

My family (of 5) have been long time patients/​customers here. We could not be happier with the excellent level of service we all receive. Office staff and technicians alike are wonderful. Always extremely accommodating and really take care of their customers!
