This place is amazing. They always help me when I’m in need and are very knowledgeable

This Ace location is super clean & organized, and it’s full of stuff you actually need & want!
They have a cool little garden section with cute decorations for your yard, and the best part of all… is that THEY SELL BABY CHICKENS HERE!!! And they’re sooooo cute! They also sell all of the housing & feeding accessories you would need to care for the baby chickens as well!
Otherwise, the customer service is outstanding (the older gentleman answered the million questions I had about owning baby chickens & where eggs come from), and everyone else found what they were looking for too!
This is a really cool little store with all things awesome inside, you should definitely stop by & adopt some baby chickens! Oh yeah, and see all the other cool stuff they carry too.

Thank you so much Kyle for saving me a lot money. I came in to rent a uhaul truck and after talking to Kyle about the distance, mileage & the cost, we decided against it & he was very considerate & friendly about the whole thing. I wish there were more nice people/​workers like you. You truly are an asset to Van’s Ace Hardware.

I love this store. The staff knows their stuff and they are very helpful. They care about people and you get that welcome feeling when you go in the store. I trust them with all of my home improvement needs.

We go to Van’s often for random bits and bobs and every spring, for everything our garden needs. This year, we’re reclaiming at least part of the back patio from Dad’s outdoor man cave, for a nice summer retreat.
To do that, we needed dirt, and lots of it! Because of the current drought, we’re doing container gardening to better control water usage. We have the containers, we just needed potting soil… lots of it.
I went into Van’s this morning, knowing what I wanted and where to get it. Tim (pretty sure his name is Tim) who was working in gardening this morning, greeted me and asked if he could help me out. I told him what I was looking for and roughly how much of it I was going to need.
Tim leads me over to a pallet full of drastically reduced bags of potting soil, explaining that because the bags were slightly torn or damaged, they couldn’t sell them at regular price. I checked the bags and they were not leaking bad or anything. Tim and I proceeded to load up my cart.
I grabbed a couple of other things I needed and went in to pay for the lot… which thanks to Tim’s great customer service, was a fraction of what I was prepared and expecting to pay. Our summer retreat is going to be full of drought tolerant flowers. And we’re still going to enjoy harvesting our own tomatoes and herbs as well.
I have never been disappointed with the service and selection at Van’s, and today it felt like I hit the jackpot! Thanks Van’s and keep up the good work!

«Ace is the Place» for friendly knowledgeable staff and just about everything you need for your home, tool shed or garden. No, it’s not as big as Home Depot but unless you are a contractor, you probably don’t need 25lbs of nails or 2 tons of Sheetrock. Ace has what you need for your household… and easy to find. For example, Home Depot doesn’t carry the 22×17.5x4inch air cleaners that all new home on the south side of Valpico need (you’d think they’d figure that out by now).
Ace employees still wear the headsets so they don’t have to give you the, «I don’t know let me ask» only to never return because they get lost in the wear house or another lost costumer tracks down their orange vests. Ace employees simply radio in, get an answer and direct you to the right isle, part, tool, etc. I once took a napkin sketch diagram of a sprinkler project to Ace. The employee (I think his name is Kyle) basically did my shopping for me and showed me a few ways to save some money. Where else do you get this service.
Visit the back half of the store where you can rent tools and machines… for cheap. If there is a line, grab a bag of FREE popcorn (made in an old fashion popper). Again, where else can you get this kind of service!?!
Ace is and will always be my first choice.
PS: if you’re looking for something specific in the garden area, just ask! If they don’t have it, they’ll find it for you!

Love the Potting Shed (inside store). Have bought numerous gifts for myself and others. Best nursery in town. Employees are nice and very friendly, store clean, good variety.

In the brave new world of mega DIY stores like Home Depot, it’s difficult to find a place that provides quality customer service. There are still many customers looking to do home improvement or modifications that don’t know what they’re doing. Enter Ace Hardware, the last great hope for the doesn’t-quite-know-it-all do-​it-​yourselfer.
Right across the street, my wife and I run a small dance studio, and because of its diminutive size, we have to resort to doing any repairs and maintenance ourselves (unless we decide we don’t like doing things like eating/​paying rent). Sometimes, I don’t know how to do these repairs outright. But the friendly employees of Van’s Ace Hardware do. If I have any questions, I am likely to locate a red vest-​clad professional who knows what he’s talking about — rather than an orange-​vest dude that just points out the aisle — and I will be able to pick up the item I need and leave the store confident that I will be able to get the job done.
The location is great, obviously. The onlly drawback is pricing. They have to mark up a little because they don’t stock at wholesale volumes, so I understand. It’s not terribly expensive, though, and it’s better than having to waste time going back and forth. I like to get what I need the first time. That always happens here.

Okay but not so very helpful crews. Its like whoa heres new customer let him find his stuff and hey hers my regular customer let me take care of them. Isnt that sound Favoritism? You guess!

Everyone is always so helpful. Although they are a little pricey, the advice is well worth it. Their equipment rental department is great if your plan ahead. They also rent U-​Haul trucks. I usually start in the plant department. I suggest the discount plant section first. With a little love you’re discounted plants will be amazing in no time.

This Ace hardware is stellar in terms of customer service. Why’s that? Because I needed to use a restroom, they accommodated my request, and I did not purchase anything.

Trying to keep a head of the vegetable eatin bugs before they get into my garden I talked to one of the gals and she told me to buy some malathaion and put 1 tbs of it in with the organic spray to control aphids and all other bugs. We shall see.

If you want personal service finding an item, this is the place to go. It may not be as large as Home Depot or Lowes but the service in this Ace Hardware store is above the rest. If they don’t stock it they will tell you where you can get it.

They go the extra mile for their customers.
I had a problem with some screws i bought from Ace. Terry, the machine shop guy, helped me grind them to the right size. If you talk to the right people there they really do care. I had already been to Home Depot and Lowe’s with no luck. From now on I’m going to check Ace first!

Great little hardware store with a friendly helpful staff. They have more obscure hardware than Home Depot and such but you aren’t going to get any major remodeling stuff here. They fill propane tanks here which is also a plus. Nothing but complements for this store.

I’ve been going to this store since they were in a small Quonset hut building on East Grantline. The customer service here has always been stellar, but today was better than ever. There’s a reason why True value went from two to one to no stores, while Van’s moved to a larger store.
Today I bought three electric sprinkler valves. I installed them and turned the water on only to find that the solenoid plunger was missing on one. I went back, receipt and empty box in-​hand, and explained what happened. The gentleman pulled one off the shelf, and gave me the plunger from another unit. He asked to show the receipt to a manager, who looked at it and said «well, we’re just going to toss the rest, would you like to keep the whole solenoid?»
There is a reason why I go to locally owned stores vs. chains whenever possible. I live around the corner from an OSH store, but still prefer driving a little further for the service I get here. Thanks guys :)

Friendly! I love this place, its like Cheers, where everyone knows your name. Maybe because I just live down the block but the service here beats Home depot by far. I went there today to get face plates for light switches and the employee asked about how our plumbing situation worked out, that was a house task from two weeks before, these people care enough said.

We needed a wheelbarrow, and failing to get anything resembling customer service at OSH went to Van’s. We were shocked and amazed at the difference between the two. Let me tell you about it.
The wheelbarrows were outside. They were well assembled but the tires were flat on them. I’m sure they had been sitting in the sun a while so I guess that can happen. We selected the one we liked and went inside to request one thinking they would bring one out from the back. The cashier called someone on the store communication system (cool ear bud thingies) and two guys showed up IMMEDIATELY and started unlocking the one we wanted from outside the store.
The cashier was nice, friendly and polite. When they brought the wheelbarrow in the wheels were squeaking (it has 2) and the tire was flat. He looked very embarrassed and said he would air up the tire and put some WD40 on the axel for us and be right back. Less than 5 minutes later he was back with a silent and well aired up wheelbarrow.
We went to take it and put it in my little Toyota ECHO, I had all 4 doors open and hadn’t been staring at it for even 5 minutes when he (the same person who aired it up) ran out and asked if we wanted it delivered he said his delivery person could bring it by in 2 hours when he arrived for work if we weren’t in to big of a hurry. We stated we didn’t think we could fit it in the car and that would be great. He replied he didn’t see a truck in the lot when he went to get the wheelbarrow and wasn’t sure how we were getting it home, and that he didn’t think it would fit in the car. We went inside and filled out a delivery slip with our address, name, phone number, and some directions. They didn’t try to charge us and it was their PLEASURE to see that we had what we needed not an annoyance or a hardship. WOW!
We went to leave and I was just SO stunned I went back in, thanked the cashier (the gentleman that helped us was already off doing a different task) and explained to her how horrible an experience we had at OSH. She was delighted and said anything we need ANYTHING just let them know and they would make it happen. She said if she didn’t have something in the store she could order it. I’m going here first from now on. They may not have a HUGE selection but they have most of what they need and there are few things I can’t wait a few days for, I want to give my money to someone who understands customer service and cares about me.

Wow that was awesome! A man pulled up with our wheelbarrow we thought it was the delivery guy from the store. He wasn’t he’s a neighbor apparently. He went in to pick up a rototiller and the guy from the store asked him to bring it by our house. I miss tracy feeling like a small town that reminded me some of the small town feel it once had :-) he was a nice man.
