Arm & Hammer Park

Now that we moved out to PA from NY, my chances of seeing a Yankee game are slim to none. However, the Yankees AA affiliate, the Trenton Thunder, is just minutes away!
I went to my first game with the family and was really pleased with how great it was. We sat directly behind home plate and I think it was like $ 12 a ticket. Parking, which was plentiful, was just 5 bucks. Good cheap entertainment.
The stadium is really nice and quite comfortable. They also have lots of kid friendly stuff going on, for example, a play area, face painting, balloon twisting, the mascots hanging out, etc. They loved it.
The concessions are typical overpriced stadium crap unfortunately. Bottle of water $ 2.75, hot dog $ 4.50, ice cream $ 4.75. You can’t bring in food either, so you’re pretty much stuck with what they offer. But since every stadium is the same story I can’t complain much.
All in all, I loved this place and will definitely be back.

came here for a game during the summer — we ended up parking in a good spot to make getting in and out easy. The biggest disappointment for me was the lack of vegetarian food. My boyfriend really enjoyed the $ 8 helmet of fries.

Minor league baseball is always fun and Trenton Thunder games are no exception. They have cheap parking ($ 3), a beautiful stadium, good food and great seats. There is entertainment in between each inning; dizzy bat contest, hoagie toss, etc. It’s typical minor league baseball fun. In the first inning they have golden retrievers as the «bat boys». If you have kids, like baseball or both, this is a great day out.

This is a great little stadium! My hometown minor league stadium (Modern Woodmen Park!) is amazing and this place made me feel at home. The beer selection was some of the best I have seen. In my opinion, it’s better than Citizen Bank Park. They had craft beers all over the stadium and not just in one area. Oh yeah… the baseball was good too. :)

Went here for a baseball game. I thought it was great. We had the picnic area seats with the buffet. It was very nice. I enjoyed the overall atmosphere of a baseball game. You could see everything from a good angle. The food was also great as well. My only major compliant was that there were many fleas/​flies here. I’m not sure if this is normal at a stadium, but there were hundreds of them. They should use repellents or something.

There are good and bad points about catching a ballgame at this park. I will say that the experience has declined sharply over the past few seasons.
Some of the good points:
–Excellent baseball. The Thunder (and all of the Eastern League teams) put on a great ballgame. It’s fun to watch the future of MLB develop right there on the field in front of you, and it’s cool to see them in big league uniforms years later.
–Access to the players. My son loves trying to get autographs, and the players are more than willing to sign, and chat with the fans.
–Concessions. There is a huge selection of concessions. From standard ballpark fare, to gourmet sandwiches.
–Parking. At $ 3 per car, in a private lot or parking garage right next to the stadium, you won’t find a better parking deal. Easy in and easy out back to the highway.
Now, some of the negatives:
–The ushers. Surly and cranky. Seems that they hate fun. They chase kids away from the players; tell them to get back to their seats while the players are still signing and interacting with the fans. There are some good ones, but the majority just seem cranky and unfriendly. These folks are the face of the stadium to a lot of fans, and will set the tone for many fans. They fall flat on their face in Trenton. Scowls and one-​word answers are not the way to interact with your customers, especially in this type of environment.
–Sketchy, unclear policies regarding ticket mini-​plan holders. I used to buy a ticket plan every year. The policy states that if you can’t make it to a game, No problem! You can exchange the tickets for another game. What they don’t tell you is that you have to do this at least 24 hours prior to the game that you can’t make it to, and you have to do it in person. So if something comes up on game-​day, or you’re out of the area, you’re pretty much screwed.
–PA announcer that sounds like he’s half asleep. At least try to PRETEND that you’re excited to be there. Do it for the fans.
–An incredibly annoying string of on-​field «ambassadors of awesome» or whatever the hell they call these guys this season. The on-​field Emcees in recent seasons have ranged anywhere from obnoxious to unintelligible.
All in all, Trenton isn’t a terrible place to see a game, but there are better options in the area. Unless there’s a special promotion or a big rehab assignment in Trenton, I think we’re going to be shifting our focus to the Lakewood BlueClaws from now on. Trenton just isn’t much fun anymore.

As I said on an earlier review this park has some short comings, 1^st off is wheelchair access, if you want to gain entry you are forced to use side walkway ramps to get into the park, there is an elevator to get to the main concourse but they have no handicapped seating in this area (even though it would make sense to allow wheelchair bound fans to see a game within a reasonable distance of the concession & bathroom facilities (how would like to have to go and can’t gain access to it quickly ?) If the owners made this simple correction and cut some of the booths that are erected for each game, it would allow seating for the handicapped in an area that would serve them better than being about 1 story below those needed areas, please Thunder look into this change…

Saw a Trenton Thunder game here Monday as part of a work team building activity. I had a good time. We enjoyed the picnic area and the buffet, along with the free soda til 1 PM (12:05 first pitch). It reminds me a lot of the Long Island Ducks park. It is a small baseball stadium without a lot of seats. A bunch of foul balls went over the fence into the parking lot.
It is not too loud there, and seemed to be mostly camps the day I was there.
There was a mix up with parking. Our group paid in advance for parking passes only to find out that there was free parking. We were compensated with beer coupons.
No major complaints. I’d come back if I lived in the area.

Not a Yankees fan! (mets fan) but the rest of the family is – what a wonderful, family friendly, inexpensive (relative to citi field or Yankee stadium) night out with the family!
Games, cheap parking, reasonable food pricing – plus, you get to see up and coming stars and prospects – and even some major leaguers rehabbing (we’ve been here when Derek Jeter was!!)
Family of 5 – 60 bucks in tickets – and there are no bad seats!
Bonus points-​fireworks night!

Even with rain delays, Double AA Minor League Baseball as personified by the Trenton Thunder and the multi-​named Waterfront Park/Arm&Hammer Park/​Samuel Plumeri Park, offers a great all American experience that is great for family, friends, clubs, offices, and just solitary «Field of Dreams» lovers.
So, it is with a strong sense of having a beautiful and unique cultural experience that we return regularly to this Temple of Timeless Baseball to pay our respect and appreciation for the Great American Pastime.
It was so much fun to be back again.

Awesome ballpark! An experience at a Trenton Thunder game, and other similar AA ballparks is significantly different than that of a Major League game. Surprisingly, an evening at the Trenton Thunder ballpark it is actually a better experience if your looking for a family friendly event that is both entertaining and economical. The parking is safe and well lit; I have always felt comfortable walking to and from my vehicle before and after the game. The park itself is extremely clean and well maintained. I am always surprised by the cleanliness of this stadium.
The stadium is easily accessible from 295 and the Turnpike. Parking is a breeze compared that that of a big league game, both in accessibility and costs. Tickets to the game are inexpensive for a family of four. However, the best part of seeing a Trenton Thunder game is not just their affordable seats ($ 11 Children — $ 13 Adult), but the overall entertaining experience. In-​between almost every single inning you will have a show, event, or promotion that is entertaining and crowd engaging. Some are small game where people compete for prizes and others are entertainment reps shooting shirts into the crowd. The best part is that this ballpark is the type of place that you just might actually catch that ball for your little one, or even a shirt.
Overall this is one of the best AA stadiums that I have ever been to. Every seat in the house has an awesome view at an affordable price. Be careful to keep your eye on the ball! A lot of people (myself included when we first started checking out AA ball) were not used to sitting so close to the field and you’ll get a couple of balls from both the batters and overthrown balls from the infield. Also, keep your eye out for weekly promotions such as $ 1 dog nights and evenings when kids eat free. Overall, I would highly recommend checking out a Trenton Thunder game.

Why pay significantly more to park downtown and watch the Phillies lose when you could spend an equally enjoyable night with Trenton Thunder? The stadium is clean and attractive, the food is a bit cheaper and parking in the nearby garage costs just a few dollars. Tickets cost around $ 11.00!
Its a very family-​friendly venue, with lots of silly games for kids in-​between innings. I’ve enjoyed every game I’ve attended here.

Been to many minor & Major League Baseball games, this place was impressive.
Easy to get to, parking was reasonable ($ 3), staff was friendly & helpful, seats were REALLY comfortable. I will def go again in the future and would recommend.

Once in the ballpark, it’s a really outstanding experience. The games are good and fun to watch. Their staff is very friendly and the surroundings are very pleasant. The concessions are reasonably priced and there are many different food and beverage items to choose from.
Getting in there from 29 and turning into Cass Place is not so easy. The traffic lights don’t seem to be coordinated so gridlock often results.
A couple of years ago I had a ticket to a rained out game that they would only let me exchange by coming to the box office before the day of the actual game I wanted to attend. I pointed I come from about 40+ miles away and that it would be unreasonable for them to expect me to make that trip twice. They wouldn’t budge on that point and even though I still go from time to time (the BB experience is great) I don’t go as often as I used to since I will no longer purchase tickets in advance due to that silly policy.

What a great time. I’ve been to 2 games so far.
In one of them, they gave away free hats and there was all you can eat stadium food.
In the other (4^th of July), they had one of the best fireworks displays I’ve ever seen — the best in-​person.
Next week they’re giving away free Matsui bobble heads!
Tickets for these things? Always under 20 bucks.
The point: The baseball is great and all (always competitive, Nd they re-​hab MLB stars here), but the folks who run this stadium always give you something special as an extra. The arena itself is spotless and gorgeous. Every seat is amazing and its just an outstanding atmosphere. Definitely one of Trenton’s treasures.

The Trenton Thunder are the AA affiliate of the NYY. This park is pretty easy to get to from the NJ turnpike. Parking isn’t expensive and the cost of tickets won’t leave you looking for money to pay your land lord. I typically head down to a couple of games a year, especially when the MLB players are rehabbing.
The park is mid-​sized for a minor league park. Every seat in the house has a great view of the field-​there are no obstructions like at YS3. Rehabbing players will sign autographs for you (even when you’re a grown up!). It’s located next to the Delaware river and has some neat views. It can get a little chilly so make sure to bring your NYY sweatshirt!
Check out the bat-​dog. He brings the bats back to the dugout in the first inning. It’s a neat take on a bat boy! The dog is treated very well.
Also check out the wall by the bathroom. It has a list of all the players that came through the Yankee farm system who are now playing, or have played, in MLB.
There is a great beer selection. Many local crafts and your regular beers. And you must try the crab fries if you come here too. The Thunder are a fun, inexpensive way to spend a summer night if you’re a baseball fan.

Never have I experienced an organization that is so dedicated to providing the best possible experience to their guests. We are on our 4^th season as partial plan holders and the value cannot be beat. Great fans, family-​friendly and affordable. Parking is cheap and pretty easy-​can be a little tough leaving after a Friday night game, but nothing like leaving Yankee Stadium or Citizen’s Bank Park. Not sure why some people expect fine dining at a ball park… They have enough options, including veggie-​friendly fare. Dollar Dog Night or Dollar draft night makes for a fun, affordable evening and the game is great. Who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky and see a big leaguer doing his rehab stint…

I’ve been to both Major League and Minor League regular season games before, but never to a playoff game. With the local Trenton Thunder earning the right to play in the Eastern League AA Championship against the Akron Aeros, I figured it was time to seize the opportunity.
Located on the banks of the Delaware River in southern Trenton, Waterfront Park is easily accessible from either Route 1 or Route 29. There is also plenty of parking in both adjacent lots and garage (only $ 3.00).
Inside the park, there are various food vendors and retailers selling all of the standard concessions and memorabilia. I found the best food options behind the first base dugout, including Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabfries. I got a great seat only six rows back near home plate for only $ 12.00.
After three hours of back and forth lead changes during the beautiful September evening, the Thunder pulled out a 11 – 7 to survive to play another day (unfortunately, they lost the championship the next day). I had a great time and will keep an eye on their schedule to catch another game next season.

Went to a day game this week where the temperature was in the 90’s. Needless to say most minor league stadiums are built with little to no sun cover to protect against blaring mid-​summer heat.
Best part of the stadium is that they have a golden retriever to go get the players’ baseball bats. Thats right, a bat dog instead of a bat boy. There was only one instance of him running around on the baseball field during an inning when he shouldn’t have.
I would go back again, but not during a day time game in July.
