Fantastic Experience!
My experience with the Diamond Vault of Troy has been nothing but exceptional. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to deal with a company who is more concerned about taking care of their customers than just simply making a dollar. they truly define what great customer service is and it is evident why they have such a successful business. Randy and Holly had gone out of their way to make what could have been a very stressful process, exactly the opposite. They made this process much more enjoyable and memorable.
From the beginning, it was clear that they were much different that your typical Mall Jewelry store (and I’m not just talking about the quality of their jewelry). It was a pressure free environment the entire time and I actually walked away after the first day much more calm and educated about the overall process.
And the ring… Wow! I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out. They did such an amazing job! Everywhere we go, my fiancée is stopped and complimented on her new ring. People can’t believe the way it shines and love it’s unique look. You can’t beat that!
I am so happy that I chose to create a custom ring, however even happier that I did it with the Diamond Vault of Troy. I will never go to any other jeweler for future purchases, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to purchase high quality jewelry.

There is no where else to buy your diamonds at. They don’t sell crap like your mall jewelers. They will stick in your budget but give you better quality diamonds. I sold my previous wedding ring from my first marriage 6 years back and they paid me 3 grand more then any other offers from jewelers, I was shocked and so glad. Without me knowing my fiancé went there and bought and designed my beautiful engagement ring. Now it’s time to design his and Randy makes the process so memorable and special! I truly felt like family and they go above me beyond! Can’t wait for it to be finished!

If you think that wedding ring shopping experience is always stressful and full of the unknown… you are wrong! Randy and the Diamond Vault team are simply amazing. The Diamond Vault of Troy has been fabulous from day 1. My now fiancé and I went to look at diamonds last year for a future ring. :) the appointment went well and my fiancé got my engagement ring from DVT. It is BEAUTIFUL! They really worked with my fiancé to get me a rose gold, pink diamond engagement ring. I can tell you, I have gotten so many compliments. Everywhere from at work, to when I’m handing the lady my card at Starbucks! :) We worked specifically with Peter John… and still are, as we are getting my wedding band from here too. He really provides expert, top-​of-​the-​line information and recommendations. He also really treats everyone with the time and respect needed! We always recommend DVT and go to it for everything. If only it was closer to our house! :)

Great experience! Timothy was beyond helpful in explaining the appraisal process and gave me an understanding of diamond grades in color, clarity and etc. Randy finished up the process and again was so helpful and friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely come back!

You cannot beat the service and staff here. They will make you feel completely at ease from the moment you walk through the doors.
Randy is an owner and has a unique ability to not only listen but determine what you are actually looking for. Not everyone has that gift. You never feel rushed or pressured talking with him.
They did an amazing custom ring for me, and I get stopped all of the time. It far surpasses anything I could have ever dreamed up myself. Seriously.
They have a huge selection, they do unreal custom work, and if you are looking for something very specific, they will find it for you.
I recommend stopping in on a Saturday when anyone can come-​in (mon-​fri is appointment only) and talking to them. Every other place pales in comparison.

My fiancé, Matthew worked with Rula to design my stunning engagement ring. Matthew raves that her discrete communication, and attention to detail made for a comfortable process. She really understood my vision for this elegant, unique design. The Diamond Vault of Troy brought the engagement ring of my dreams to life. Their large selection of loose stones, offered a variety of options, allowing Matthew to create the perfect ring. The way DVT does business from the very first hand shake, is a superb example of their honesty and dedication. Thank you Rula, and everyone at DVT for our happily ever after!

My fiancé and I went to Tim at the Diamond Vault of Troy to discuss engagement ring settings and also to be properly sized. We had already visited at least 3 other jewelers for comparison and also had done our homework online. Tim is a true professional and a master at what he does. I barely even tried on any settings. He asked me so many questions which was great because I left this visit feeling like Tim had a clear understanding of my personal taste.
As it turns out, my fiancé and Tim continued to work together to design a custom setting. I never saw the ring until my engagement day. It. Was. PERFECT. I couldn’t have designed something this beautiful myself! Also, the cost was right on the mark. Like I said, we had done our homework and we felt the price was very fair.
I would absolutely recommend Tim and the Diamond Vault of Troy to ANYONE! We will be back to purchase my future husband’s band, and of course… I already have my eye on some other beautiful items.

My engagement ring is from the Diamond Vault of Troy. While I am not the one to write a review on the buying process, I can attest to their excellent service. It took a while for me to write this review because it really could have gone either way. My ring has a beautiful micro-​pavé setting. However, in less than 3 months after receiving the ring, two of the small side diamonds had fallen/​popped out. So two diamonds fell out and I’m giving them a five stars on Unilocal?Why yes, because of the way it was handled by Peter John, our Gemologist. The first time, I took the ring in and the diamond was replaced at no charge, with no questions. The second time, I took the ring in and again the diamond was replaced at no charge. However, this time Peter John, the goldsmith, and a few others discussed my ring and decided to beef up the setting to ensure the diamonds were 100% secure. They built a brand new ring for me, with the same design but a bit more white gold to secure the diamonds. Again, this was done at no cost to me. The way they handled my situation was exceptional… I highly recommend Diamond Vault of Troy.

If you are going to buy a diamond, this is the ONLY place you should do it! Period!
You are welcome to SHOP the malls, high-​end boutiques and retail stores, but when you decide that you are interested in actual HIGH quality diamonds, real personal service, and unmatched buying power for your dollar, Diamond Vault of Troy should be the only place you BUY!
I will only buy wholesale diamonds going forward, and will never shop retail again. I will probably never buy from anywhere except DV of Troy again, either!
I shopped about 50 – 60 different stores all over Michigan (Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Traverse City) and Texas (Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston). I was looking for «engagement rings», «loose stones», «wholesale diamonds» and «brilliant diamonds». Everywhere I went, almost no one wanted to deal with me (chalk it up to bad retail experiences). If they did talk to me, they just wanted to push whatever their name brand (read: high commission) «hot» deal was onto me. I got a lot of «I can’t believe you aren’t going to buy this ring today» outrage from High Pressure Sales People! Some places even told me that «no one bothered to buy loose stones anymore». Anything to make a sale, I guess.
However, I love my girlfriend (read: future wife!)… she deserved more than that! I wanted to find a jeweler who was interested in getting to know me… someone to help guide me… someone interested in what I was trying to say with my stone… someone who wanted to know about my fiancée so he could help me make the right impression… someone who wanted my business for the rest of our lives together!
Then I found DV of Troy on Unilocal!I met with Tim Mayer at least 8 – 10 over a course of about 6 months to ensure I knew everything I possibly could, that I was comfortable with my decision, and the diamond I chose was the exact right one for ME! And let me tell you… that is a pretty HUGE order when it comes to my OCD!
I will say that I’m probably the most difficult person in the world to sell a diamond to. I am very specific about what I like, and I know just enough to be dangerous (or at least a real pain). I had to know about the 4 C’s: cut, caret, clarity and caret weight. I had to know about the 5^th C: cutlet (thanks Internet). I had to know about Shape, Girdle, Polish… Symmetry, Table, Depth… Diameter and whatever Fluorescence is… Certifications: GIA vs. AGS vs. EGL vs. ISI… Who is GEMEX, and why do I need to know… and why do I even care about FIRE! After spending ENDLESS hours on the Internet to find the «perfect diamond», all I could say was that I was confused (and was certainly not going to buy a diamond on the Internet!).
Tim’s attitude of No Pressure and relaxed attitude made the whole experience wonderful! He took the time (several times) to understand my needs and delivered well beyond my expectations. My engagement ring is breathtaking and spectacular. (You really ought to see this thing!!)
And you know what the best thing is? They design custom jewelry. As in, my (now) fiancée had a secret Pinterest page. It’s covered with all of the engagement rings, wedding rings and diamonds that she thought were beautiful. (Guess who didn’t even know this page existed? You might want to check with your girl too!). So Tim includes his business card… my fiancée can go onto the Diamond Vault of Troy’s website, get some ideas, and then share her page with TIM! HE CAN THEN CUSTOM DESIGN HER ENGAGEMENT BAND AND OUR WEDDING BANDS! Anything she wants, she can dream to her heart’s content! What a beautiful gift to give to the person you love most!
To anyone out there who is thinking about getting married/​engaged, I HIGHLY recommend that you check out Diamond Vault of Troy!

AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!
When I think of engagement ring shopping as a man, it is intimidating. It took me quite a bit of courage to even step foot into a jewelry store. When my fiancé and I would look, we always felt hustled and I walked away with a bad gut feeling. I also didn’t want to get her hopes too high checking out many stores so I decided to start looking by myself and keep a little mystery in the picture.
I searched the web for other local businesses, and came across Diamond Vault of Troy. When I arrived, I was greeted by Peter-​John Parisis. I was impressed right off the bat because I was offered a coffee with Baileys (and it was quite delicious at 9am). I found out that Peter-​John was a minister and extremely friendly. He stepped me through the diamond picking process with ease. Explaining the 4 Cs and how to get the best diamond with my budget. I had a very strict and tight budget, and not once was pushed to go above and beyond.
We searched for a diamond and I was very impressed with what we found. The carat, color, cut, and clarity were extremely good for the price allocated for the diamond. After picking out the diamond, we decided to design the ring custom to fit the diamond perfect. I sat down and discussed what I noticed my fiancé liked. After a couple days, I received a CAD drawing, and was asked to approve the design. I thought it was perfect, and exactly what I was looking for. A couple days after that, I received a call that the ring was ready to be picked up.
This is the point where I got nervous. This was the biggest purchase of my life. It not only was because of price, but because it is a lifetime commitment, and something that will change my life. I had butterflies (manly butterflies that is), and went to receive my ring. Because Peter John was GIA certified and a Graduated Gemologist, I received the certified appraisal from the same location. I was going on a trip to California, and planned on transporting the ring in the box, and propose sometime out there. Peter John gave me some tips to make that moment perfect. Instead of carrying a bulky box in my pocket, I received a pouch to carry the ring in. I hid the box in a thick sock in my suitcase. (After the fact, she admitted to feeling my pockets when we met each other to see if I had a ring, but didn’t feel anything).
My overall experience was great, and plan on going back for future purchases. Peter-​John Parisis was extremely honest and detail oriented. I highly recommend the Diamond Vault to anyone because you won’t be disappointed!

THE BEST!
My search for an engagement ring took me to 4 different states and another country. While I was home visiting family I received some advice from my dad on ring shopping. He told me finding a jeweler you can trust is worth whatever money you think you will save shopping at mall stores. Which is how I ended up at Diamond Vault of Troy.
From the moment I walked in I was made to feel as if my ring was the #1 priority by Randy and his staff. I like to educate myself before big purchases and I will be honest I was overwhelmed with researching and trying to understand diamonds. I shared this concern with Randy which lead to him giving me a quick diamond education presentation. What impressed me the most was it wasn’t a sales pitch but an actual moment of learning and understanding of what I should be looking for. Any business of any size should aim to have the quality of customer service that Randy and his staff delivered.
The quality of diamond was excellent, the price was great, and the ring is an absolute stunner. Although I live in California I will never think of buying jewelry until I return to Michigan to do business with the staff at Diamond Vault of Troy. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time anywhere else.

Where do I begin! My husband and I had been ring shopping for a while. While he was confident in another local jeweler, I did some research and suggested DVofT! I must say this had to be one of the best shopping experiences ever. It is unlike any chain jewelry store. After walking in and overcoming the initial shock of the wonderful setup, I was able sit down with my husband and start our search in DVofT.
We were greeted by a nice young lady who then introduced us to Tim. Tim educated us on every part of choosing a diamond. Although I had done my research and been previously educated, I was amazed at Tim’s patience, knowledge, and lack of pressure. I’m a lady that’s all about quality over quantity and Tim worked with us on the type of diamond I wanted and made sure we stayed within our budget. He explained the shapes, 4c’s, all that mathematical stuff that goes into the cut, etc. I found my diamond and was overly pleased with the 4c’s and my husband was extremely pleased with the price.
We then proceeded into the vault to check out settings. Another plus was we could actually pull out the drawers and try on the rings without anyone breathing down our necks. I found my setting, had my diamond, and was happy wife! My husband was sold and told him «wrap it up!» Tim told us he’ll try to have it ready in the next few days, which was ok with me!
We will definitely be going back to Diamond Vault of Troy for future jewelry purchases! I highly recommend this place to anyone that is in search for a beautiful piece of jewelry!
Oh yeah, there a chocolates and other delectable sweets all around, along with drinks to wet the palate. So make sure you don’t go on an empty stomach or else you’re likely to indulge!

Very positive experience.
I decided on a secret engagement, involving no one other than myself in the ring design process. I entered The DV of T knowing literally nothing about stones, settings, cuts, etc. Even without an appointment, I was given their full attention at the end of the business day. They were very sensitive to the time constraints of their customers — moreso than their own schedules.
Over the course of 4 – 5 weeks I made several visits and was able to design my own engagement ring. I was not pressured into anything, and paid no money until the final product was in my hands. Every step of the way Randy (store CEO) was able to meet with me, email with me, call me, and was extremely patient. There were a multitude of times where he even suggested less expensive options (e.g. white gold vs. platinum). I was always treated with respect and my correspondence was met with prompt responses.
Randy, in particular, makes the store shine. His well seasoned and nonthreatening demeanor made an absolute novice, myself, completely at home with the ring-​making process. A process that is inherently awkward and uncomfortable. If you have the opportunity to work with a particular person, I recommend him. Your budget will never be an issue, and my modest one never curtailed my options.
There was a close call when my platinum ring was mis-​cast twice a couple weeks before an absolute deadline. They worked overtime to make sure the perfect, finished product was available to me on time. This threatened to upend my otherwise very positive impression. And yet ultimately the ring and its effect on the fiancée leads me to give you an unabashed endorsement of the Diamond Vault of Troy.

Much like Ken below, I have postponed writing my review for Diamond Vault of Troy for a little over a year now and here is my conundrum: how to put into words my experience with Randy at Diamond Vault of Troy.
If you read my other reviews, you would know that I have been a big fan of another jewelry store (this was during my PRE –DVT days). Jewelry stores, in my experience, are much like going into a car dealership. You HAVE to trust the salesman since you don’t know anything about the products — in this case, jewelry. Don’t get me wrong, I KNOW what I like! It’s just that, I can’t tell a cubic zirconia from a real diamond! One of my college professors once said, «If you want to do something right, you gotta do it yourself OR go to the professionals to do it for you.»
And there could not be any more professional AND KNOWLEDGEABLE person as far as jewelry goes than Randy. He has educated me EVERY STEP OF THE WAY to pull off into fruition a VERY special jewelry I designed for my mom. I told him my parameters, I told him my budget, and him and I (no really! RANDY AND I) went through SEVERAL gems to find the perfect one for my design. Randy elevated the meaning of the word «custom» on an entirely new level since I was LITERALLY involved in every step of the process: I drew the jewelry (c’mon now… I AM an art major, lol), we picked up the gem best suited for it, he molded it in wax then SHOWED IT TO ME for APPROVAL, (there was one minor revision from the first wax mold), cast the mold in gold then showed it to me again for approval BEFORE setting up the stones. I don’t really think it can get any more CUSTOM than that! I watched the jewelry I conceived become reality every step of the way — pretty much like I am doing it myself! If I would have gone to the «other» jewelry store, I would have paid the SAME price for something that heaven only knows how many times have been done over and over again. THIS jewelry, I KNOW is ONE OF A KIND. And THAT is VERY important to me.
If that knowledge and professionalism are not enough, try throwing PASSION into the mix. Randy LIVES AND BREATHES the creation of DVT’s jewelries. He is a TRUE ARTIST. When I talk to him about jewelry and precious metal and gemstones, there is a certain «twinkle» in his eye and suddenly, it’s as if I am looking through a mirror thinking to myself, THIS must be how I look like when I talk photography to somebody. EVERY TRIP to DVT is an opportunity for me to learn something new — what the difference between a sapphire and a ruby is (sapphire comes in EVERY color BUT red when its name changes to RUBY! I bet you didn’t know that! :)), what kind of facets there are, what kind of finishes there are, how gold can be made to «look» black, etc.
Through the course of my repeated visits to DVT, shopping for jewelry has become an enjoyable experience. I never once felt that I was forced into making decisions I would later regret — think adding «extra» features you don’t need when buying a new car! Furthermore, Megan, Tim and especially Randy has been like family such that now I KNOW where to go whenever I need a piece of jewelry — ONE OF A KIND jewelry that I designed myself!
WARNING: When you go to DVT, there are CHOCOLATES EVERYWHERE just ripe for the picking (milk, dark, with peanuts, without peanuts, etc.). If you are a chocoholic like me, your mouth will probably be stuffed with this decadent «treat» while talking to Randy or Tim. I know Randy doesn’t mind though. On more than one occasion, he even offered to throw away my chocolate wrapper for me. :^P
TIP: If you have never been to DVT, try looking for the BIG, YELLOW Huntington Bank Building that can be seen from I75. Go to the bank’s parking lot, accessible from Big Beaver Road, and park there. DVT is INSIDE this building. There should be a small door facing Big Beaver’s parking lot that you can go in.

I have held off on writing this review for a while… because I have been dealing with the Diamond Vault for a while now… (just over a year or so) And if there are any words that could possibly be said that already haven’t been said down below my review here… the only thing I can do is echo everything from the ground up.
From the moment I stepped into the Diamond Vault, I felt welcomed, treated like an actual human being (not just a customer that someone needed to make commission off of). Tim and Randy both are always willing to sit down, talk with you, inform you about any decisions, any questions you might have… anything. at… all.
I personally felt as though I put these guys through the ringer with all of my requests… but I was lucky enough to strike up a wonderful relationship with everyone there, that I knew I wasn’t being a bothersome customer… they were more than happy to do everything I needed, because as they love to put it… «You are our walking billboard advertisement».
Tim and Randy pulled off some amazing tricks and tasks for me… including assisting me in being able to propose to my fiancée when I did… (A little white lie goes a long way about how long custom jewelery will take… hehehe)
They are the most honest, trustworthy, and sincere people that you could ever deal with in the jewelery market. They can do it all for you. Work with your budget, give a little here, give a little there, and even offer you a glass of wine when you need to kick back and relax when you’re looking for something to sparkle for her.
I am so… SO thankful that I was recommended to the Diamond Vault… and I say that today my fiancée and I picked up our wedding bands from Tim and Randy… and I am very happy with everything that happened during the process. An outstanding group of people.
If you are thinking about any sort of jewelery, GO TO THESE GUYS!!! You will not be disappointed! On top of that? They now have a very new wall that actually helps lead the customers into the building.

To all you guys out there looking to pop the question, here is what you do: check out Kay, drop into Jared, and walk into Tapper’s (if you dare) and THEN make your way over to the Diamond Vault. I will be absolutely amazed if you buy your ring anywhere else.
Let’s face it guys, buying a diamond is kind of scary: it’s a LOT of money, you know nothing about diamonds, and, above all, you want to make your girl EXTREMELY happy with the ring you pick out. That is where the Diamond Vault saved me. Tim spent a good hour with me going over every nuance of the diamond, let me compare several diamonds side-​by-​side – explaining what factors go into the cost, as well as determining which factors where most important to my fiancé. Walking in the door, I felt like I couldn’t tell a diamond apart from a piece of nicely cut glass, but, after leaving, I was itching to fly to Belgium and scope out the market!
Also, for all of you guys out there on a budget, the Diamond Vault is the ONLY place I went that won’t pressure you to go several digits above what you want to spend. They are honest people with a good product, and help you make the best decision for you and your (soon to be) fiancé. Plus, I gotta admit, it’s kinda fun to shop for a ring in the vault of a bank, with a cold cocktail in hand!
Do yourself a favor and don’t get swindled by a national chain Jeweler, and get yourself an appointment at the Diamond Vault!

What an honest, sincere group of people!
From the time my fiancé and I stepped through the door we were greeted with smiles and asked if we would like beverages while we waited (which was a whopping two minutes). They were able to squeeze our appointment in the same day and took a look at a piece of jewelry to see what they could do to alter it the way we wanted and gave us time to browse their wide selection of custom jewelry.
Their prices seem very fair and they are very picky with every detail, something you really do not see everywhere! Exceptional for an independent jeweler (even though their name is similar to other chains, they are completely independent of any other jeweler).
Do yourself a favor and at least see what they have to offer. You will be surprised by the amazing pieces they design, the low prices and the unmatched, excellent customer service they provide.
