Dr. Douglas S.

Business Owner

Dr. Douglas Smail has been practicing in Troy since 1993 and in Malta since 2011. He graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.S. in Molecular Genetics. He went on to Georgetown University Dental School and, upon graduation, did his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Georgetown University Medical Center.

Dr. Smail has been active in organized Dentistry, having held positions in the local, state, and national levels in the Dental Association.

Dr. Smail is also a Forensic Consultant to local and state police, and has helped in many criminal investigations.



Dr. Smail’s other professional passion is for Medical-​Dental mission work. He has done cleft lip and other birth defect surgery in the Philippines, plastic surgery in the Dominican Republic, and Dental work in Honduras and Kenya.
