I am a smart guy, but I will be the first to admit I am not all that mechanical. Give me a computer and I can fix it with my eyes closed, but put something with an engine in front of me and if it is not out of gas, washer fluid, or has low tire pressure, then you are SOL. I knew my riding lawn mower needed a basic tune-up at the very least and I had suspected the blades needed to be replaced as well(my backyard had more divots in the lawn than a fairway after a day of golfing). I could have probably handled the oil change part on my own with the help of good old YouTube, but everything else would have been tough as I do not own the tools nor the equipment to hoist the mower in the air. Plus I do not have a truck so getting a riding lawn mower to a shop was not an option. I called Dave and with it being early in the season he was a little backed up. No worries, my in-laws live across the street from me and I have mowed their lawn enough times that they returned the favor so I was fine waiting a week for my appointment. He came out the day he was scheduled during the time frame designated and was absolutely awesome. Giving this guy 5 stars is simply not enough. Not only was he professional and did an exceptional job, he took the time to show and explain to me everything he was doing so that I could learn and maybe save a few bucks in the future by doing some things on my own. He went above and beyond to also fix the mower deck that was out of alignment as well as reshape some of the metal guards that were badly bent up. I am sure this is all stuff that would have been extra(he did state that if I were to take it to Weingartz that they typically don’t even look at stuff like that), but he «hooked me up» and the end amount was still the price he quoted me over the phone for the tune-up and blades. As for the price, he was more than fair compared to his competition. I researched and looked around and for the tune-up package I got at a place like Weingartz it would have been slightly less there, but it would not have come with the replacement blades I needed nor the extra work that was done to reshape the bent guards. The blades he put on were Gator Blades which is what the pros use and should withstand a beating and still stay sharp and cut evenly. Also with Michigan Mobile they come to you which more than makes up for the slight price difference(and by slight I am talking like $ 30 or so). I would highly recommend Dave for all of your small engine and lawn equipment care. We will for sure be contacting him towards the start of Fall to give our Snowblower a much needed tune-up.
