Revive Auto Repair

Since moving here from California, I have definitely had a difficult time finding a reliable and affordable mechanic. Since I am Vietnamese, I even tried to reach out for a mechanic who speaks in my native tongue only to be quoted with exorbitant prices even higher than the dealerships! Called around to dozens of places who want to charge me 25 dollars for an oil change just for labor alone with me providing my own oil and filter.
With this said, I think Nick (who is the owner and mechanic I think) is a really stand up guy who quotes you up front (at least with oil changes anyway). It is really hard to find a mechanic who isn’t trying to rip you off. He does an oil change with a synthetic blend for 23.99 which is an awesome price. I have also seen this special numerous times on groupon for 17.99. In my case, I bring in my own oil and filter and he does it for 10.00 dollars flat just for labor. Although this is the normal price in California, I think that indeed is an impossible price to find in metro Detroit. If anyone can prove me otherwise please send me a PM!
The only negative about this place is it is always packed and difficult to schedule an appointment because this guy is so darn busy. I guess it’s because he’s honest and that’s a rare trait seen in mechanics nowadays. So if you have a lot of work to be done, I do not recommend trying to «walk in» cause that most likely won’t work out very well, so call ahead for an appointment. Good luck!

Semi synthetic Castrol oil. $ 23.99. check all the fluids and everything else can’t beat that.

Price is really good. Thank God this isn’t the pushy salesman type of shop. The manager knows his stuff and points out problems that need to be taken care of but doesnt push to get it done unless it’s an emergency. He SHOWS you the problem as well. Very clean. No oil residues when you’re getting a oil change. Good place for your car

I gave Revive Auto Repair a try for the first time yesterday and had a great experience, and will most certainly return the next time I need my car serviced.
I scheduled an appointment for four new tires, a battery terminal cleaning, and to have a heating problem corrected. I dropped the car off with the owner, Nick, at 8am. He walked me through some tire options, told me I most likely needed an alignment, and what they’d do related to the battery and heating problem. I headed off to work and a couple hours later I received a call from Nick and he explained that my front brake pads and rotors were on their last legs and offered a special price to get them replaced. We discussed the price (very reasonable considering the materials and all the work being performed) and I gave him the OK to proceed.
My car was ready around 2 or 3pm, and I picked it up around 4pm. I could not believe how well the car was driving. My vehicle is a 2008 Nissan Xterra, but it was driving like it was brand new again.
Before paying and driving off, I actually had a very nice conversation with Nick. It became very clear that he’s running a customer satisfaction focused business first, and an auto shop second. I’ll definitely be back!

I started a Unilocal account just to give Nick a review. My family and I are new to the area and had been looking for a honest mechanic for about a year. I found Revive on Unilocal (as suggested by another Unilocal user) and couldn’t be happier. Another shop in the area wanted to charge me for things that me car didn’t even need, Nick saved me over $ 1000. He is very knowledgeable and didn’t mind explaining the process of the work, not to mention fast. We went to breakfast after dropping off the car and it was done before the waiter sat our plates down. I think we just found our mechanic, thanks Nick.

If you are searching for a reliable, honest, professional, and cost-​effective auto mechanic, then please read my review. My 2008 Acura MDX com stopped running at my son’s soccer game. We had the vehicle towed to Acura of Troy, as they have been servicing my vehicle for a number of years. The dealer noted that I needed a fuel pump replacement, costing $ 788. I was outraged at this price, particularly since I paid this dealer approximately $ 3,000 during the past few months for various recurrent problems (and including new tires). This was my second tow to this dealer within three months. As a frustrated customer, I decided check out reviews of other auto mechanics and came across Revive Auto Repair’s five-​star rating on Unilocal,Facebook and Google. On a leap of faith, I called Nick and told him my problem. He was very kind, knowledgeable and sounded sincere. He said that a replacement fuel pump should cost about $ 300, including labor. I was shocked. I immediately called my insurance company and informed them that the dealer was price gauging me. As a result, the insurance company towed my car, for a second time in two days, to Revive Auto Repair. Nick confirmed via telephone that my vehicle was in his possession, and not to worry. Early the next day, he informed me that my car was working properly, and the bill was $ 270 plus tax, including labor! I couldn’t believe it. When I arrived, I saw Nick himself driving my car through a car wash connected to his repair shop. To add frosting to an already delicious cake, Nick noticed that my husband’s vehicle was making inappropriate noises. He hoisted that vehicle up, noted a loose screw, and fixed the noise AT NO COST. So now, both my husband and I are dancing like little kids. We highly recommend that you check Nick out. He’s opening a second shop soon in Pontiac. We’re so happy we listened to fellow Unilocalers and found Nick. THANK YOU, Unilocal! Acura of Troy, you will not be missed.

Went in for 4 ignition coils, my 2006 Passat was shuddering. After a test drive and diagnostic, Nick, the owner, said I only needed 1. I asked him to check my spark plugs, they needed replacing. I also think that I got to the bottom of a concern that I’ve had for a while. I visited Revive Auto Repair based on the 5 star reviews. I’ll return based on my visit. The experience was fantastic. Nick is a calm, respectful, mechanic who is fair with his pricing and knows his Volkswagens.

I would definitely come here again! I came to get my headlights cleaned because they were so dirty my lights looked dim. Kasim made sure my car was washed and even replaced my bulb for $ 15! It saved me a trip to the shop that I had to make tomorrow. The service is awesome!

I’ve always dreaded taking my car to a mechanic because I was worried that they were going to rip me off. My friend told me about Revive Auto, and said they were the most reliable honest auto repair shop he has ever been to, so I thought I might as well give them a chance since my check engine light was on and I was in desperate need for a oil change.
I arrived at Revive Auto around 10am, there was 2 people being serviced when I walked in, but right when I walked it I was helped immediately which was a pleasant surprise considering you usually have to wait forever at mechanic shops. I told the mechanic that helped me all my issues and he said no worries he will take a look at it asap. within 30 minutes, I had received my oil change and a answer to my check engine light. It was nothing more then a silly clogged air filter. They could have told me it was anything, but they were honest and it made me feel comfortable to use them from that moment on.
From that day I’ve used them for all my auto needs. I went in 2 weeks ago for a flat tire, received 4 brand new tired $ 80 cheaper then Discount & Belle Tire!!! I didn’t even know they could come cheaper then that!
They also accept foreign and luxury cars. my dad takes his Lexus and my moms Cadillac in there because he said they are the only ones he trusts with his babies.
So if your looking for a good honest auto repair shop, Revive Auto is the ONLY place I would recommend to my friends and Family. If you want good honest advice and you want quality work done on your car or truck then revive is where you go!

When I lived in Michigan I took my car here for a quick oil change and to check my car due to the check engine light. The service was fast friendly and loyal! I would recommend this place to anyone out in the area!

Outstanding customer service and even better auto service. I hate taking my car to the mechanic, mainly because I think they are all out to rip you off especially being a woman… Not this place. Probably the most honest auto shop I have ever been to. Everyone there was so great, didn’t try to sell me any stuff I didn’t need, told me what I needed and was very honest. He could have taken me for hundreds, maybe thousands more than what they charged me. They serviced my vehicle and fixed everything up for $ 500 less than what the dealership quoted me.
This place is awesome.
