To be brutally honest. This Save-A-Lot is the nastiest most filthy store. Almost all the produce is rotten. Some of the meats at this particular one are green to greyish green. I dread when my husband says we are going there. I feel as though I need to carry a gallon of hand sanitizer. And the people that work there are really rude.

I don’t think I’ll be returning here. Although the fresh produce looked fresh, everything else was shelved like it is at a BJ’s or a Sams Club. Only one register was open. Store seemed big from the outside but wasn’t at all.

this place is the grossest, nastiest of all, & I’m not sure how they can call themselves a grocery store. for starters, they have a limited selection of produce: a tiny fraction of any regular grocery. the cherry tomatoes were reasonably priced, but I spent 10 minutes finding a container that didn’t have mold growing in it. the best i could do was eject the rotten ones. I found very few things on my list that i wanted. They do not sell ricotta cheese. I got baking soda,(safe enough as it has one ingredient & I will use it for cleaning, not cooking.) what they do sell is all manner of gross pre-packaged«food» and crap like white bread, frozen«meat» & kool aid under dubious brand names. If you like to eat off brands of rice A roni, frozen dinners, tuna helper, orange drank & other utter garbage… you will enjoy Save A Lot very much. If you are any kind of foodie, & care to consume quality food, you will have a field day finding NOTHING in this grocery store. I will probably go back, just for kicks. For grocery shopping, no effin way. For real food, there’s a Price Chopper a mile or 2 up the hill.

From time to time, we shop at the Save A Lot and stock up on discounted groceries. It’s a very basic neighborhood grocery store, about half the size of the former Price Chopper offering usually one brand each of the most popular grocery items. They have very limited produce up front, prepackaged meat section(no in-house butcher), deli meats, frozen foods, dairy, dry goods, kitchen stuff, and household items. They also carry special purchase items and some name brands inclduing General Mills, Betty Crocker, Keebler, Pillsbury, and Totino’s, but they stock mostly random«no name» brands. Okay, are you craving some Chef Boy-Ar-Dee Beef Ravioli? Instead, they have Del Pino Beef Ravioli. Looking for a bag of Lays Potato Chips before the game? Save A Lot has J. Higgs Potato Chips! Searching for Del Monte canned vegetables? Well, try some Wylwood canned vegetables, only 39 cents a can! Trying to find small bags of Lipton Pasta & Sauce for the family dinner? Golden Acres Pasta & Sauce is only 69 cents everyday! Need some Borden American Cheese Singles for grilled cheese? Instead they carry McClary’s American Singles for 99 cents! Doing some grilling and need some KC Masterpiece? Well, try some Baumann’s Barbecue Sauce instead! You get the picture! They carry lots of kooky generic brands saving you money! Oh yeah, when you check out, it’s a good idea to bring your own shopping bags with you. Save A Lot charges for each shopping bag: 3 cents for plastic, 5 cents for paper, and 10 cents for reusable plastic. OPEN7 days a week: 8AM to 9PM
