Guacin’ the Dog is legit. The chili cheese Tots were on-point. I’ll be back for sure.

Edit: I went back in today and everything was great! When I went to update my review I saw that they had sent me a message about my previous visit, apologizing for the mixup and offering to comp my next order, which speaks volumes about their customer service. I opted not to take advantage of their offer because I really like their food and I think it’s worth the money. Original:I really appreciate them having vegetarian hot dogs, because as a vegetarian I know how hard it is to find them. The two stars are for offering vegetarian options, unfortunately ordering them is sloppy and confusing, because there is an option on the menu for a soy hotdog with any toppings instead of a line saying that they can substitute a regular hotdog for a vegetarian one. For example, I ordered a «soy guacin’ the dog» and got a plain soy hotdog because their menu is weird, so in order to get what I wanted id have to say that I wanted a «soya wanna hot dog guacin’ the dog»? The space is smaaaaall, so if you have a group maybe only send one person in to order.

Went this past weekend for lunch at the new store location in Troy. We weren’t greeted at all upon entering and there is no way anyone could have missed us, this place is tiny… maybe four small tables inside, and two picnic tables on the lawn out front. The girl behind the counter stared at us as we stared at the menu trying to decide, I finally broke the ice saying hello to her, and I did get a hi back… but absolutely no customer service. A guy wearing an apron was taking cell phone pictures of the wall beside us. We finally decided(I think we both secretly wanted to run far away, but stuck it out.) We spent nearly $ 30 on two hot dogs, two faygo cans, a side if tater tots, and a bag of better made chips!!! When the food arrived the guy wearing the apron delivered it… and mentioned something about how great they look and started taking photos of our hot dogs… weirrd…we asked if he was the owner and bingo! He was. He told us he wanted to know what we thought, but never reapproached… Nothing special here. Plain flavorless hotdogs with sub par cold toppings… it’s all novelty and no quality. We were hungry 2 hours later… we should have just went to our favorite sushi place down the road…

Went to the new location on livernois in Troy. I was excited to try a new hot dog place. I ordered the Mac Dog. It was very dry. I thought the cheese would act like a moist topping. However the cheese was very clumpy. Hot dog was nothing special. The bun was not even steamed. Not even soft. I also got to spend $ 6 on one hot dog. Crazy expensive. I don’t understand how a plain hot dog is $ 2.50. And then I got the privilege to spend $ 3.50 for max and cheese topping. I will have to try a different dog if I go back. Go down the street to Hippos and a get a excellent dog at a much better price. The place is very small, not much seating. Only Faygo for drinks at $ 1.50 a can. I can’t speak for the food truck which must be much better than there storefront.

The Mean Weenie crew was at Kensington church today for the volunteer appreciation lunchon. They served Dearborn Frank’s with Brown’s Bakery buns. Their coney sauce was super hot and tasty. Also available were all the trimmings including cheese sauce and jalapeños. What a nice change from the usual punch and cookie fare. I’ll be looking for the«WEENIE» wagon at other venues soon.

This is the best food truck in Metro Detroit hands down! I’m definitely not a hot dog guy, but I have left my home to find them in downtown Detroit or in the metro area. Best hot dogs I’ve ever had, normal size not small, and the toppings and different dogs are why I eat there! This is a must have! Trust me you will not be disappointed!

Wow!!! Please make this into a restaurant. I’ve been lucky enough to see this food truck at different locations in the area 3 times and left with a belly full of delicious gourmet dogs. My personal favs are the Defender, the Mac Dog and the Piggly Wiggly. You won’t be disappointed.

This unassuming food truck is a gem! They have one of a kind gourmet hot dogs like you’ve never had before. I had the Guacin’ the Dog with chicken sausage, delicious guac that you can tell was fresh and homemade, topped with a chipotle cheese that added a nice little kick and nacho cheese Doritos crumbles!!! Yes you read that correctly, Doritos on a dog!!! And it was heavenly.

I find it hard to believe that all these people give this such high reviews. Hot dogs are small. The hot dogs definitely didn’t taste like all beef hot dogs. They use a cheap quality bun. The toppings like Mac n cheese or pulled pork were not good. The hot dogs and the toppings on top were luke warm. I swear a hot dog from Costco or SAMs club is better then this place. When you factor in the price of the hot dog, the quality, and the bad flavor I won’t be back. They are way to many other coneys or hot dog places in town that I would rather want to spend my money and enjoy. Hippos hot dogs, Atomic dog, and Lipumas Coney Island just to name a few that are great. Man I would rather get a hot dog from the stand at Home Depots than this place.

Definitely the best food truck business model of all of the food trucks in canton today — the wasabi hot dog has a kick! Big fan.

We booked the mean weenie for a 4th of July event. Everything was confirmed and set prior to the event. We booked a food truck for 105 ppl. The man I spoke with to book the event informed us that this was a commodity and that people will want to try more than one hot dog. We were having 105 people.. So safe assumption, they would bring at least 250 hotdogs. He said he’s done multiple parties like this in the past and not to worry. I definitely should’ve worried… For starters, something was«wrong» with the truck? Really? but if there was really something wrong with the truck 2 days before the event, he didn’t even apologize or offer some sort of courtesy 3% off the final bill or something. The whole excitement of bringing the Mean Weenie was for all the fun hot dogs coming off a food truck not the pint size Teenie Weenie CART(seriously t was an ugly little cart). I mentioned to the man when he arrived that I was extremely bummed and disappointed that he didn’t bring the truck his response. well I didn’t want a broken truck or whatever he said was wrong with it. Whatever, be a jerk, fine that was the least of our worries… So 105 ppl were confirmed(remember he originally told us to plan 2 – 3 hot dogs per person) this guy brings 170 hot dogs. Not those jumbo hot dogs or anything. He brings Teenie hot dogs to match the darn Teenie Weenie. Honestly I feel like the hot dogs we buy at Costco or Kroger are bigger. There were only 2 people there setting up the one man running the show, his responsibility included tallying up the hot dogs. & that’s all. Literally. This man did nothing but watch the one other woman he brought with him and tally the dogs. The woman making the hot dogs was taking the orders and making them herself while he just stood there. There was a line the entire time. People were waiting anywhere from 15 – 20 minutes for food which was absolutely ridiculous. We booked him from 6 – 8. My husband started to realize that people were still in line and still hungry. He asked the man if he could stay longer, he replied no and that they had a party they had to get to themselves and they’re almost out of hotdogs anyways. That was at 7:15. Seriously? By 7:15, mind you we booked him until 8pm. This guy told my guests that he had run out of food and started making the few soy dogs he brought. Seriously? Any true businessman would’ve ran out or made a phone call and picked up more dogs. Or if he saw 30+ people in line waiting for food maybe could’ve put down his super important clipboard and catered to the customers made their hot dogs AND tallied. Obviously he can’t multitask. But no he just chose to sit around and do nothing but draw little check marks on his clipboard. He also«forgot» a few details that we had originally talked about when we booked our event. Specifically how we put a cap on the price and wanted to serve only up to $ 5 per hot dog or how he stated that he would bring sausage. These people are clueless on how to run a business and cater to a party. The 70 or 80 year old man we hired to drive over the ice cream truck did a better job. Do not end up in the same situation that we were put it. Do not trust these people to cater to your party. Don’t waste your money on these Teenie weenie miniature so called ‘gourmet’ hotdogs. The only ‘gourmet’ thing about this place is the price. Do yourself a favor stay far away from these people. If you need someone to cater your large event call Hippos Hot Dogs or any other legitimate company cause these guys can only handle the one by one street traffic of where ever they drive around too.

Creative approach to hot dogs. They offered a variety of unconventional toppings ranging from wasabi to guacamole to mac and cheese, and all their combinations had amusing puns in the names too. I tried a soy Piggly Wiggly, which was a soy hot dog topped with mac and cheese and barbeque pulled pork. They were generous with the toppings, but the downside was that a lot of it was falling out and the meal became pretty messy. At $ 7, the Piggly Wiggly was one of the more expensive things on the menu. While it was one of the better hot dogs I’ve had, I wish it was a bit more filling or at least came with a side.

Tried the Ch’Poodle and a side of beans. The hot dog was very good, the right amount of heat(not too much, but you will notice it). The cilantro and avocado give a nice fresh feel to a standard chili dog. Less impressed with the side of beans, tasted like they a lot of garlic. The flavor was unique, but probably would not get them again.

Love local businesses venturing out, love conceptually-sound food trucks, love when the owners actually work the trucks and are friendly. MW catered a work event in Troy this afternoon, coworkers and I were thoroughly pleased. Very cool menu, with items to fit every taste/budget. From chili dogs to their November special, all was well received and quickly prepared. I got the monthly special ‘Give Thanks’ Dog, which was a turkey dog on a standard bun, topped with mashed potatoes, gravy, tasty stuffing, and cranberry relish. Added a Faygo and some Better Made for grand total of $ 9. I was very happy with the quick and friendly service, great flavors, and well thought out menu. Will definitely visit again.

Very creative and tasty hot dogs. Definitely a step up from your regular dog. They do a great job at making them look very nice and appetizing. Try the: –corned dog –Mac and cheese –keen weenie Found them while shopping a week ago and we have since looked up their location on their website to find them.
