Troy Collision

This Business is unprofessional and poorly run. It is also clear that the employees & managers have poor communication and follow up with one another, as well as to their suppliers and most importantly, their customers.
I brought my 2013 Ford Fusion to this business for repair after I was hit. The damage occurred in the driver side rear.
After car was fixed, I noticed part of my taillights were not lit (it was a two piece LED light set). I called them so I can bring it in to get this fixed.
To make a long story short, they had installed the wrong LED lights, then reordered the wrong one again. After reordering the wrong one, they then ordered the right one, but it got sent to the wrong place and they never followed up to see where it was. It took a call from me and a lot of pressure to get them to do their job.
This process took in excess of two months (including the vehicle repair). I DO NOT recommend going here at all. Absolutely go elsewhere and save yourself a headache.

So despite all the poor reviews, I had to come here because of my Geioco Auto insurance. I could have gone a little further, but it would be very inconvenient for me.
On that note — I have nothing but positive things to say about the service. Everyone was extremely responsive and nice. The estimate and the delivery date was exactly what it was. They even followed up with calls on the status of the vehicle. Currently– everything is working fine!
In addition, it was very easy for enterprise to send a rental and drop off.
The owners also gave us another estimate on another personal ding and told us it wasn’t worth getting it fixed. Again, I had nothing but fast and positive experiences. Maybe people just need to be nice to people for them to reciprocate!

So I take my car in after a collision for estimate. First one I meet is a lady secretary who is not very welcoming. I ask them to look at the car and give me an estimate. I then ask her if it is free cause I need it to send to the person that hit me. I was told that it was. A day later I was told of the damage estimate and I told them to give me a couple of days to decide. This was friday and they were close for the weekend so I would let them know monday. I called them monday morning to tell them I was not having it repaired and I would pick the car up. I was told that it would be fine. 10 min later I get a call by the guy who estimated the damage and was told that there was $ 100 dollar tear down charge. I told him that you never told me that there was a charge. Well he said that I signed the power of attorney. Dont know what that means all I know is that I dont like surprises and I like to be told up front what to expect before they start. When I came to pick up the car I spoke to the same secretary and told her you said the estimate was free and she said she didnt know they were going to do a teardown. I didnt get any apology from her. I spoke to the manager and he apologized and that she should have told me about the tear down charge. All I wanted him to do was to make the wrong right and not charge me for it. They would have a satisfied customer and would have gotten my business in the future. Right now Im pissed off and lost any recomendation from me.

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE! Here’s why:
On Dec. 19, 2013 I was rear-​ended by a drunk driver. On Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 I had my car towed to Troy Collision as per Ed’s recommendation from Geico. I trusted Geico, Ed (my adjuster) and Troy Collision. BIG MISTAKE.
Troy was going to begin the tear-​down of my vehicle to access any further damage that Ed could not see when it was at Byer’s tow lot. Ed had estimated $ 5500 before it went to Troy.
Ed from Geico told me a tear-​down and estimate is usually a 3 – 5 business day process. He called me on Friday, Dec 27 and told me the vehicle was in the tear-​down stage at Troy Collision.
I am a reasonable person, and realized that this was the week of Christmas and NYE was to follow. On Monday, January 6^th, 2014 Ed called me to inform me that nothing had been done with my car yet. Weird. For anyone who’s paying attention, that was 2 full weeks that my car had been at Troy Collision. There were only 2 business days lost in that time frame due to the two holidays.
I called Ed back on Tuesday, January 7^th and told him how frustrated I was that we hadn’t even gotten close to beginning repairs after two weeks. Ironically, he called me two hours later and told me that (low and behold) the estimate was complete and that the new estimate was $ 9800 and they would be repairing it, not totaling it. He estimated 3 more weeks.
In the meantime, I called Jodie, the cold, abrupt and rude secretary at Troy Collision and explained to her that I was paying $ 23/​day on a rental (the cheapest one I could get) through Enterprise. I asked if TC had a loaner that I could use while my car was in their shop. She said they do, but it’s only given out on a weekly basis. I wondered why I would not be eligible to use this loaner vehicle when I was giving the shop nearly $ 10,000 worth of business. She told me to call Enterprise and ask for the collision rate which would lower my payments to $ 20/​day. I called Enterprise and they were happy to make the rate $ 20/​day from the beginning of my rental contract (Dec. 23).
I understand that parts need to be ordered and that takes time. Ed called me on Tuesday, January 21 (4+ weeks at Troy Collision) and told me all of my parts were in and that I could expect my car to be done by Friday, Jan 31 or Sat Feb 1… This would make my total time at Troy about 6 weeks.
I decided to go to Troy on Thursday, Jan 23 to retrieve some personal items from my car and check on the status of the repairs. When I pulled up to Troy I was horrified to find my car sitting in an empty lot, by itself, in the middle of the winter with the windows down and unlocked! No repairs, aside from the tear-​down, had been made. I took some pictures of my car and headed into the office.
Jodie was there to «greet» me. She was on the phone when I walked in. Without looking up, she held a finger up to me to signal me to wait. I stood there until she had finished her call. At that point, I explained to her who I was and asked why my car was parked, unlocked, with the windows down and not being worked on. She initially told me that my car WAS being worked on. I told her NOOOOO it wasn’t because it was parked in a lot! She said, «where?!» I pointed out the window to my car. She also explained that my car was «fine» to be parked outside, in sub-​zero temperatures and snow with the windows down. At this point, I walked to my car, retrieved my items and left.
More calls, more rudeness. Ongoing theme. I left 2 messages for the owner who NEVER CALLED ME BACK. Ever.
When I finally got my car back, over 8 weeks later, they gave the car back to me with the back-​up camera INSTALLED BACKWARDS, and a flat tire.
THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER.

Troy Collision has repaired my car numerous times and every time I have been extremely satisfied. When I was rear– ended, I received a free rental car for the whole duration of my car being in the shop. Its understandable that people get frustrated when they get into an accident– and in regards to the other reviews– you get what you give. If you are going to be pushy, demanding, and rude– you may just get a taste of your own medicine. I have never been treated poorly at Troy Collision. Yes– its frustrating to have car problems, but this business is here to help you and get you on the road again. I trust them with all my car needs. They are honest with you. They are priced fair. Trust me– this is a quality collision shop.

I’ll never go back there again and I’m spreading the word about this place — BAD NEWS., STAY AWAY from here. And the secrataries are Snotty too. I dropped off a Taurus to have the hood re-​painted due to chips & scratches and a small key job on the hood. Simple & East Right? Wrong ! The pinstripes are in a particular location on the hood. I pointed it out to the salesmen. I had to call the place several times to find out if and when done. They never called me. Ok, no big deal. I finally come to pick it up. And the pinstripes are totally in the WRONG location. They even had a picture of it !!! So they tell me I’ll have to bring it back. I say wrong. Mr rental car time was up from my ins. co. I told them call the pinstriper back «We can’t do that.» I said guess again. I said I’ll need a cheap rental car until it’s done right. THE Secratary Looks at Me, like No. And I said «YES» You made the mistake, you fix it. So she literally huffed and moaned & finally gave in. Got the car back Never going back. The best part is I drive for UPS and I drop off packages. People ask me all the time where should I go for body work. I tell them any place but troy collsion. Word of Mouth, gotta Love it !!!
