Established in 1998.

My name is Erik Nyborg, I am the owner manager of Contract Painting.

I have been doing this work for over 25 years in the Lake Tahoe and Truckee areas.

I have been continually developing and refining our proven, quality and durable painting systems for this climate.

I know the extreme effects on our homes from the sun, wind, snow and temperature changes and what quality products to apply for maximum protection and long lasting results.

I take great pride in my crew of six, and together we guarantee you the most professional and highest standards in painting your Interior, exterior and decking; along with fine finishing of doors, trims and cabinets.

Erik moved from Sunnyvale to North Lake Tahoe in 1983 and opened a small ski shop in Squaw Valley. 1984 opened a Frozen Yogurt Espresso Café called Tahoe Yogurt Factory. 1987 started a Promotional Products business and started as an Apprentice House Painter. 1996 married Jessie James Nyborg. 1998 started Contract Painting. 1999 blessed with a son and 2002 blessed with a daughter. Loves living in the mountain recreation environment and all 4-seasons. Snow & water skier, Mtn biker, Camping.

Erik did an AMAZING job with our project. He took a dirty, dark interior wood plank wall to ceiling surface and turned it into a light, bright, good-as-new surface. It now reflects the natural light beautifully with a new gloss finish. It’s like the wood was just installed new now. So happy. He communicated throughout the project and delivered exactly what he said he would. I’ll be looking up Erik’s crew for my next paint/stain project for sure.

Eric did our house in Northstar several weeks ago. I had several bids and what I liked about Eric’s bid was that he was clear that he was going to put 2 coats of stain on the house. We scheduled the work and Eric stayed in communications with me and started the day he said he would. His guys did a great job, prepared the house the way it should be done, stayed with the job till completed and cleaned up. Yes, the house took the two coats needed which took another full day for the painters.
Our house is 16 years old and looks as good as it did the day it was new. Nice Job Eric

We decided to use Eric and contract painting because we loved the way our neighbors house turned out after he painted it. Everything started great and Eric was easy to deal with and make arrangements with. He gave us a fair quote and gave us add on options (windows, driveway…). The trouble began with us leaving to take our son to a baseball game while the crew power washed the house. We left the doors unlocked and told them to go into the house as need be. The power washing made us nervous, but Eric said they always check in the house to make sure the doors and window frames don’t leak. When we returned late that evening we found that the water had leaked through the sliding glass door and soaked through our bamboo floors all the way to the downstairs floors. Tons of water! Several of our boards were warped and damaged. Eric came over the next day and had some guys sand it and try to repaint them, but a year and a half later they are still competently ruined… to the point where every time I walk past them I get a sick feeling in my stomach. Do not have the money to replace or refinish my entire living room so for now we have to live with. In the end we were very pleased with the outside of the house, just wish the inside hadn’t been ruined in the process.

We recently hired Contract Painting to paint the interior of our 3,000 square foot home in Truckee, as well as, to stain the exterior. We found Eric Nyborg, and his crew, to be highly professional and time sensitive to our needs. Eric selected most of the colors for the interior and he is really good at it. My wife and I love the way it looks.
As for paint quality, we specified the brand, and that is what was used.
As for touch-up, Eric came out immediately and touched up everything we might have scratched when moving furniture back in to the rooms.
As for cleanliness, a professional window washer was provided, at no cost to us, to remove any debris after the exterior of the house was stained. The inside of the house was left spotless.
As for project completion time, the house was painted in the timeframe promised.
I am very happy with my experience with Contract Painting and would highly recommend them. We are very please with our experience with them and will use them again.

I hired Erik to paint my vacation home in Donner Summit. Of the 5 painters from whom I received bids, not only was Erik’s competitive, but he was the most thorough in description of scope, and most responsive and timely in terms of communication. He was clear, informed, and helpful on product and process recommendations, and even offered thoughtful aesthetic advice.
I hired him remotely, without having ever met in person, and he continued to communicate with me throughout the job. I came up to see the house when it was almost done, and I was thrilled with the work Erik and his team had done. Excellent cleaning, prep, masking, paint, stain, et al, and then thorough job site cleanup at the end of the day.
I heartily recommend Contract Painting.

My husband and I bought a second home at Tahoe Donner last May and had the pleasure of being referred to Erik Nyborg of Contract Painting. Erik stained our entire home plus the 4 decks to the exact stain we had selected, he added the perfect trim color, and completed the entire job in the time frame he had promised. He finished off the project by cleaning the windows and touching up the driveway. Our house still looks like a brand new home!
