I had the most delightful time at Hania’s B and B. In fact I extended my stay by 3 nights. She is the most welcoming hostess, yet is never intrusive. My window overlooked the Truckee Valley, and you can hear the trains whistle through at night. The cottage is immaculate, renovated and nicely decorated. As soon as you arrive, you are offered the wine bar. Breakfast was delicious– served on china and white table cloth. Take Amtrak to Truckee, Hania’s is a one block walk up the hills behind old towne. Then for $ 3.50 round trip you can go into Tahoe for swimming or rent bikes at Squaw Valley for a beautiful ride along the Truckee River. Namaste Yoga rounds out the trip with classes and best ever massages. Having stayed at large corporate hotels in the past, I feel I’d never really«seen» Truckee. It feels like you have a friend in Truckee with Hania’s I intend to return soon.

I went up for a fly fishing clinic last weekend. I had been to Truckee before so I knew I wanted to stay in a b&b. I am glad that I chose Hania’s. Hania and her daughter, Mia, greeted me upon my arrival. She was gracious and offered me something to drink right away. The house is just above Main Street. Since the house sits up, so there is a view. I walked down to Main St for dinner. The room is very comfortable and well decorated. I chose the room with the fishing theme, go figure. The bathrooms are roomy and updated. Hania was up both days to make me breakfast. On Sunday she was up an hour early to feed me. She is a wonderful hostess. I will stay there again.

Staying at Hania’s was a great highlight of my birthday weekend on Lake Tahoe. She and her family are lovely and extremely welcoming. They gave us great advice, lent us a travel book for the area, and played with our baby while we ate. The 4 rooms are very cozy, decorated with a mix of Western U.S. & Polish art, china, and furniture(Hania is from Poland). Everything felt immaculately clean(something I care about a lot at B&B’s). Breakfast was luxurious European style on lovely china with coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, hot croissants and scones, jams, cheeses, granola and yogurt, and Hania made us eggs when we asked for them. The price was also great – substantially lower than any of the other B&B’s or inns I researched. Hania gave us a deal because we stayed two nights. Loved it. Look forward to going back.
