Truckee Sourdough Company is a wholesale artisan bread bakery located in the majestic Sierra Mountain town of Truckee, California. We service both grocery stores and restaurants. Our full line of artisan breads can be found in many grocery stores across Northern California and Nevada. We also provide a full line of restaurant wholesale products.

History

Established in 1996.

Our entry into the bread business came through our original business, Ponderosa Deli (1980 – 2003). Yet interestingly enough we did not start making bread to service our own deli needs. Being transplants from the Bay Area we were raised on artisan breads and when we moved to Truckee we identified a bread niche that was not being met in the Tahoe area.

Baking our own bread started as a hobby and evolved to selling out of the deli. Consumer response was tremendous and when local grocery stores started to carry our breads we formed Truckee Sourdough. Our place in the bread industry continues to grow organically mostly by word-​of-​mouth with new products being created daily based off customer requests. Today we are proud to service many grocery stores and restaurants across Northern California and Nevada with bread that is as natural as possible, staying away from preservatives and excess sugars.
