The prices are easily 10% higher than every store in the area. If you decide to shop here please make sure you check the expiration dates on everything, many times I have found expired items. on two occasions I have bought chicken that was bad, Returns were never a problem but who needs the hassle.

Not very impressed. The prices are very high on most items I buy. Their bakery is way overpriced for the quality of breads $ 1.99 for 1 croissaint?(and usually burned) pastries, cakes and other. If you only need bread, I much prefer to go to Francis’s bakery(in the same plaza next to Gioves Pizza) where the breads are delicious, fresh and still warm when you buy them, and half the price. For pastries and cakes I go to the Polish store on Boston Ave(Lasoviak Deli my first &BEST choice), or an Italian bakery in Bridgeport on Main St and I will provide a review for that too ;) Cold cuts are outrageously priced. The only thing I go there for is when I run out of something and am pressed for time(like when I leave something on the stove). Cream over $ 4.00 Everything is «at least» a dollar more, than any other store in the area. They are convenient in distance, that is all. They used to have a lot of Polish things and I had more reason to shop with them, because the Polish store is pretty far from our house, but now they have eliminated that, so there is nothing special about this store. It’s not negative, not really, I am just not very impressed.

High quality food, but extremely expensive. Sometimes you can find great deals(they will have insanely low prices on top quality meat from time to time), but unless there is a sale we usually have to avoid this place. It is very unfortunate because they do have many unique items, but I find I can get a lot of the same quality stuff at the Big Y down the road, or by visiting Trader Joes(and when Whole Foods opens up in Fairfield, that will pretty much take away all my reason to go here except that this place is only a two minute drive away for me). Porricellis is also an IGA, which I’ve mostly found to be expensive grocery stores for what they have, but at least it the market itself is locally owned. Also note they do have a loyalty program, but it is not computer-based so if you forget your card they can’t look it up(although it seems like most supermarkets and grocery stores have a system like that, unlike places such as CVS or Best Buy that have a database). However, I’ve only found one employee at Porricellis that would not use their own card for us. Most of them are very friendly and will help you out if you forget yours. If they had better sales more often I’d have more reason to go here, which I’d love to see since they are such a short drive away.

I loved this market while staying with my friend, they have everything your heart may desire… even Polish food in their ethnic section… lol. They have a nice deli selection, sushi, great breads, all types of cheeses and they are very reasonably priced.
