To start, I’m probably a little bit biased by this venue because it’s close to me home; I’ve seen so many shows here; and my brother and friends volunteer here. Also, they have many buildings at the center with many different artistic purposes, but I’m only going to comment on the theater. This community theater is really as good as community theater gets. They have a lot of plays and musicals each year, with some big-named shows(performed by local actors) such as Les Miserables and Peter Pan. During the summer, they also have an extensive selection of youth shows. Travelling music acts also visit this venue. Volunteer participation keeps this place going(my brother is part of the tech crew, and he loves it there; my friends are part of the pit orchestra). Even though they have nonprofit status, they are well funded and state-of-the-art in many regards. For the plays and musicals, the set design and lighting design are beautifully composed for each show. I personally know the master electrician, and his magical designs transform the stage. Ticket prices are reasonable, and the theater is located just off the main street in Tryon, NC. The shows are usually packed, so it might be to your advantage to call your order in. If you are looking for some weekend entertainment or if you want to be part of a show, check out this nice little theater.
