Valvoline Instant Oil Change

Seriously go to this place! If you ever need something done to your car come here first!
So beyond impressed with this Valvoline location. I always dread taking my car to get an oil change because I have to hear the pressured recommendations to drop $ 500 on fixing up and maintaining my car. There is none of that here!
I worked with Adam today on getting my wife’s car battery replaced. It’s for a 2006 Vw Beetle and these cars are insane to work on. This was the first beetle he replaced a battery on and man was it complicated. He got the job done though and was a great sport about it. It definitely took a lot more work than most other cars.
I’ve also had my oil changed here before. They make all of the manufacturer recommendations but absolutely no pressure to get anything done that day.
Needless to say, this is definitely my go to place for oil changes/​general car maintenance. Well done guys!

If I could give no stars I would. Had my car checked out to see if it was in order to sell and Jeremy spotted some rust under my car. From my experience this is common. He tried to tell me that the rust would work its way into the transmission and ruin it. What a load of crap. I took it to two other mechanics and they said they’ve never heard of that happening. I don’t know if he is incompetent or was trying to get me to replace a transmission but I wouldn’t trust this place.

I had some car issues while driving down the freeway causing my car to over heat. The first place I could get to was Valvoline off Nyberg. I told them what was happening and how I thought that maybe an oil change might help. They were Honest with me, and told me something else is probably the culprit and sure enough after looking under the hood for 30sec — 1min they found I was leaking coolant pretty badly. They told me that doing a oil change is something I wanna hold off on and they offered to fill my coolant back up so I could get home safely, no charge and gave me a referral to a mechanic near by. Now, they may not be able to do this for everyone and I may not have had an official service there but the customer service and care they provided to me in a dire situation was stellar! They could have easily turned me away and said «sorry, not our problem» but they didn’t. They went above and beyond and I once I get my car taken care of you bet I will be getting oil changes for both our cars there from now on.

Jeremy has to be, hands down, the best mechanic I’ve come into contact with in a shop out here. Very professional and he knows his stuff! Wouldn’t trust my car with anyone else!

My wife got our oil changed here a couple of weeks ago. We also had a headlight out and happened to have a new bulb that she purchased a couple of days earlier that I was going to put in. Well since she was here, they offered to put it in.
I didn’t think it was possible to put a newer cars headlight bulb in wrong, but this VIOC location managed to do just that.
When they were done putting the new bulb in and changing the oil, my wife started the car and turned on the headlights. She couldn’t see the previous burnt out light shining on the wall, so she asked if they’d put the bulb in and of course they said yes. Well looking at the car from the front looked like the headlight was working but when driving it, the light basically shined up and to the right instead of on the road where it was supposed. I thought, what the hell?
Sure enough, popping the waterproof lid off the back of the headlight assembly showed that they «installed» this new headlight bulb completely wrong! Now mind you, these headlight bulbs have tabs on them to indicate which way they’re supposed to go in and I previously thought it would be impossible to install them wrong because of that. I was wrong. I’ll be lucky if that metal tab holding the bulb in doesn’t break off eventually because of this mistake.
Steer clear from this place.

I thought these guys were great, everyone was super nice and I never felt like they were pressuring me to buy things I dont need like other places do. Overall it was a great experience, I do agree though that it is a little overpriced, but not so much that I won’t be going back… and I wasn’t flashed by anyone

I used to come here quite often, where the techs provided quite good oil change service but at more expensive prices. One day one of the technicians told me that the suspension/​struts in the front looked «loose», and asked me to check it with an affiliated auto repair shop nearby, giving me the business card with the contact info. I asked how bad it was — the tech said he wasn’t sure, it could be mild or dangerous. ???
I took a risk and left the car alone for a few days. I didn’t manage to go to the affiliated shop, but when I had to fix a different problem at a closer auto repair shop, a checkup revealed nothing wrong with the suspension/​struts. The technician may have been mistaken, but that gave me a bad feeling about Valvoline in Tualatin. Were they trying to create business for their affiliate auto repair shop? I’ve stopped seeking service here.

I used to always get my oil changes here until the last time I went. The young man working on my vehicle spent more time staring at me and FLASHING ME than working on my truck. I called the business owner to report their vulgar employee and got a completely unsatisfying response. I would think that fact that I know what color his employees pubic hair is would cause more of a stir.

Mitch and Russ and the rest of the guys at this Valvoline Instant Oil Change just plain put a smile on my face. One reason is they are quick and efficient, the other is that one of the cars we own is a royal pain in the butt to change the oil on. It is also über-​messy to do as well. While Mitch and the Gang are almost too nice to do this to, lucky they are professionals and get paid to do a job.
You certainly can trust the Valvoline name, they have been churning out the finest quality liquid dinosaur since 1873 (Dr. John Ellis, the founder was working with petroleum since 1866 but not under the Valvoline name until 1873).
You drive right in to a stall, roll down your window and sit there in the comfort of your car until they are all done changing your oil, checking tire pressures, checking all fluids top and bottom and checking your lights. They are not hard sell so you need not worry about them trying to up-​sell the heck out of you like Oil Can Henry or Jiffy Lube.
I have had them change oil on several types of cars, do a coolant flush and do a transmission service. Every single job was done to my satisfaction, and that is no small trick, I’m a picky son of a gun.
