Dr. Nyman, you have put me out of the pain and misery known as root canals HOW many times now… I’ll have to express my gratitude in a Unilocal review!
In all seriousness, I really trust Dr. Nyman. There have been numerous dentists, orthodontists, and oral surgeons who have advised me to get bridges, crowns, etc. or conversely, have told me that the shooting pains I was experiencing were imaginary. I have gone to Dr. Nyman for second opinions and he accurately identifies the actual problem, without suggesting additional remedies that the other dentists condone. I’ve gone to Dr. Nyman for cavities, root canals, post gum graft work, and wisdom teeth extractions, so I trust the guy (and have been pumped with novocaine. Lots of novocaine.)
Even if it’s just for a cleaning, he’s very thorough. He’s also a fellow NYU alum so we like to reminisce about the good old days. It can be difficult to get an appointment for a cleaning, you probably have to book a month or so in advance. When I have had emergencies (see above), he was not only accommodating and able to squeeze me in, but he also gave me additional ways to reach him if I experienced additional pain. Due to his ability to take emergency patients, there are times when I’ve had to wait over an hour to be taken when I’ve had a regular appointment. Be sure to bring lots of change with you in case you have to park on the street and feed the meter. The Village of Tuckahoe parking meters will thank you.
