Barber Shops are always tough for me. My uncle is a barber and honestly he set the bar pretty high. A couple years ago after a decade lone search I stumbled across a wonderful one-​man shop in the center of Tucker and he reminded me of Uncle Joe. Straight edge razor, a little chit chat but not too much, and a nice cut for a reasonable price. Sadly, Mr. Murphy hung up the clippers in December and so the search for a barber was renewed. Happily, it has ended after one visit to Charles’ Barber Shop. The hair cut and beard trim were top notch. They had three folks working so there wasn’t much of a wait. The price was reasonable and BEST OF ALL they have that warm shaving cream and the straight edge razor as part of the service. I also like he family atmosphere and the fact that Charles (the owner) was doing everything while I was there — cutting hair, sweeping up, chatting with the grandson. Good family man and clearly someone with pride in his profession. See you in 6 weeks!

I’ve been coming to Charles’ Barbershop for the nearly 30 years I’ve lived in the Tucker area. I took about a dozen years off when my job had me in north Gwinnett County, but was unable to find a barbershop I liked better. Been back now for almost 2 years, and I intend to keep it that way. Wonderful haircuts, no frills, no wasted time, and good, funny company. I highly recommend Charles’ place.

My wife and I just move to Tucker from out of state. I just happened upon this place by chance and it’s great. This is the quintessential American barbershop. They give a great straight-​razor shave and the jokes/​stories aren’t bad.

This is one of the only places around to get a real shave and hair cut. When I mean real, I mean a straight edge razor blade. Ask for them to put a wet towel in the freezer for when you finish. Place looks and feels old for a reason. Great prices and service. Ask for Charles daughter Angie.
