Sam’s Club

I joined Sam’s club a few years ago and never looked back. I never go to the grocery store or Walmart anymore.
Pros
1. Great prices. You really save a lot on vitamins, soap, food, paper goods, cleaning products etc. The membership pays for itself really quickly.
2. Membership cost — $ 45 annually but you can split it with someone and each get a card. Also, Groupon offers specials all the time.
3. Cheap gas prices — it varies from location to location but overall it’s cheaper than the average gas station.
4. Payment methods — they accept all debit cards and many credit cards too now like Visa and AMEX.
5. BYOB — bring your own boxes. It’s good for the environment. I keep a few in my trunk.
6. Navigation — there are signs that make it really easy find things like cereal, dairy products etc.
7. Variety — Vacuum cleaners, juicers, flashlights, towels, great gift items, TV’s, you name it, they sell it.
Cons
1. The lines can be long but it depends on when you go. Weekdays before 5pm are best.
2. The return policy is the pits! If you don’t have a receipt, they have no way of looking up how much you paid. So they give you the lowest price within the last 30 days. Ex. I paid $ 11 for a pack of socks and they offered me $ 2. Save your receipt!
3. Limited selection of organic items. But they’re getting better.
In summary, Sam’s is great!

The store is ran by liars
I go get a cell phone and they lied to you and then act like you’re stupid as a customer. Spent over four hours to get a telephone and they waste Customers time. I recommend nobody come over here and get any phone.

Not a great selection in produce. We didn’t need assistance. Layout is different than back in Michigan. But the place is clean and organized. We will be back!

I don’t know why this Sam’s club gets low ratings. I personally love this location for its proximity to the freeway, the ample parking available and the lack of crowd.
The sundae that I always get on my way out is always huge, the price is much cheaper than that at Costco and the flavor of richer too at Sam’s.
One more thing, although Sam’s club has way less variety than Costco, at least it has Philadelphia cream cheese, I can only get generic cream cheese at Costco

Maybe I got stuck with crappy workers tonight or something but this experience made me want to not renew my membership with Sam’s EVERRRRR!!! Maybe «ever» is harsh. I will be honest, other Sam’s clubs near Gwinnett customer service was alright but the customer service in 1940 Mountain Industrial Blvd Tucker, GA 30 084 is consistently bad. I am never greeted when I walk around the store. Even when I look lost, no one came up to me and ask me if I need some help. Tonight experience was horrible.
I came into Sam’s on Mountain Industrial Blvd to print out some pictures for my mom at 5:35PM. We loaded some pictures from our memory card and chose 109 pictures. The rate on the screen was .14 per picture with the total of 15.26 before tax. We completed our upload and the machine printed us a ticket to come back in an hour at 6:40PM. I came back at 6:40PM and found out the photo staff left for the day. Ok no big deal, it’s my fault for coming back to pick up my photos that the ticket told me to come back. I talked to customer service and they told me to ask around at people hanging around in the cell phone section. I found one guy over there and he led me back to the photo center and he found my prints. He, unfortunately, didn’t know how to ring me up. He went to ask another guy who was consistently on his phone the WHOLE time. That guy who knew how to ring me up led the inexperience guy through step by step. As the total came up the cost was 3 dollars more than what the original price on the digital photo lcd originally gave me. I told the two guys that and they said I need to consider the tax. Hmmmmm from 15.26 to 19.80. WTF!!! They then told me the cost is .17 per print 4×6. In my mind «it’s late, let’s not be difficult». I paid the amount. I told them «Thank you for ya’ll help». They did not say anything back to me. The other guy was still on his phone. The inexperience guy gave me the receipt and I then said «Thank you very much» to both of them. All I got from them was «Uh Huh». WTF!!! I went to the digital photo center and load my pictures on there again. After I finish uploading with 109 pictures, the price show up is 15.26 again.
I don’t know what the deal is but this experience is terrible. Putting the price aside, the customer service was bad. I DO NOT recommend this Sam’s Club location to anyone. I am rethinking my membership at Sam’s as well.

If you walk in here and need assistance don’t hold your breath. They will leave you wandering around for help. There is always a lack of employees walking around to answer any questions you may have about products on the floor or products that you need employees to get for you.
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like any store under the Walmart umbrella never has enough registers open or just move so slow that the lines continually have you waiting for at least 20 minutes just to check out. This Sam’s Club is no different.
As far as the selection they are very comparable to other bulk food providers such as Costco and BJ’s. You can definitely save some money depending on what you buy and for this reason and this reason alone I continue to come here and deal with the lack of customer service.

Hello Unilocaler’s! After going to this Sam’s Club to buy tires one day, I had a very bad experience dealing with a lady trying overly hard to sell me more tires I didn’t need. I never felt so pushed by a sales person before. I had better feeling dealing with car sales persons. I am sure if you ever had to buy tires from this store and you dealt with a female sales person you know who I am talking about.

It would be no stars if possible. An elderly man needed assistance today after having an accident, and the only person who helped him was my husband, who was on his lunch break at the time from his job. The manager, rather than calmy handle the situation, decided being vulgar and talking loudly about how «this man shit himself» was the proper way to handle the situation. My husband asked them to call the person he was with on the intercom while he escorted this man to the restroom. They did not call anyone. Instead, the manager took pictures of this poor mans accident while other employees laughed. Not somewhere I would want to shop if they have no common courtesy or even decency for another human being and their feelings.

I stopped for gas and though the gas pump charged my credit card my car didn’t receive any gas. I was told there had been no problems with the pump. So, I basically paid for nothing. The fact that my car was still on empty didn’t matter. Manager Felix had horrible customer service and was no help. Not to mention he was rude to his employees.

3 star only for the outdoor workers who offer to help me except for the photo service & customer service. Their behavior is lazy & rude. One man takes forever to do the simplest duty and than used his walkie talkie complaining how he refuse to check out about 4 people who was sent to his location. Soon order us customers to go to the photo service. One lady have a nasty attitude and disrespectfully acting unfair. We was waiting and another customer came along and somehow acted differently. Like no, everybody should be treated equally. This deserve 0 stars for their service.

IMHO no department or warehouse store ever deserves five stars (I’m not a big shopper), so four is a pretty high rating from me!
After having read the posted reviews for this Sam’s I almost decided to drive the extra to go to a different Sam’s. But since I was limited on time I went there anyway. I was surprised to be greeted by the gal that was checking membership cards at the entry door with a smile and pleasant «good morning!» As I shopped several folks ask if I needed help. The cashier was pleasant as well.
A couple of days later I needed to go back because I forgot to get something on my shopping list when I had been there the first time. Again, everyone was pleasant and as helpful as they had been on my first visit. One young man that was gathering carts (buggies) in the parking lot, stopped what he was doing to offer to help me take my purchases to my car.
I know it’s been some time since the reviews that were so critical of this Sam’s
were written — so it is possible that customer service at the store has improved.
After my visits at this Sam’s I’d highly recommend them based on cleanliness, customer service and hospitality.

Warning… this is kinda long but worth a read.
If you you’re in a rush for time, then lemme just advise you NOT to go here unless you go early and don’t require assistance of ANY kind.
As both a longtime African American resident of the area, and longtime member of the cult known as SAM’s club, allow me to be brutally honest…
There is a rather unpleasant but nonetheless consistent pattern among chain stores that are either located in predominately black neighborhoods OR that serve a majority of black customers… these establishments systematically assume one or more of the following traits:
* POOR or non-​existent customer service: The employees [many of them black as well] hate working there and take out their frustration on the customers [who oftentimes LOOK like them] with vigor
* Poorly stocked shelves
* Limited selection as compared to other locations in ‘better’ areas
Well, let me stop there but you get the point.
I work in Dunwoody and on my journey home this location is closest to my house but my least favorite choice.
Yes I understand they are renovating now, but their staff is oftentimes rude and unprofessional.
Recent example: Last week [6/​22/​14] I stopped in on my way to work [10AM] to buy a cake to bring to an work function. They open at 10A, so they were fairly empty and this transaction SHOULD have been quick and seamless… well, er not so much…
I find a cake, and walk over to the woman working in the makeshift cake/​bakery area… as I tried to get her attention [I wanted an inscription written on the cake] I had a hard to getting her attention [she was icing cakes with loud hip hop music playing on her boom box], she looks up at me with a somewhat annoyed look on her face and snapped ‘just put cake over here, I’ll get to you in a minute’. So I waited patiently for another 5 minutes for her to stop and ask what I wanted. Sometimes it’s not ‘what you say but HOW you say it’…the ‘gruff’ woman then barked, ‘Okay what do you want on it?’…As I was telling her, she then interrupted [getting more annoyed] ‘Just write it down’. I complied. She then couldn’t read my writing apparently, as said ‘What does THAT say? Just spell it!‘
Okay really? This is just one of many examples of ridiculous ‘little’ things that other Sam’s club don’t burden you with.
Once I needed a picture screen printed onto a birthday cake, with short notice [needed it on a Sat, delivering the photo on a Thursday morning]…I was stupid enough to even THINK that this location would help… the woman was over the top rude, [complete with eye rolls] to let me know they could NOT and WOULD not comply without LOTS of notice. So, as I usually do, I went to the Clairmont location and as usual they were pleasant and accommodating. The customer base at Clairmont is far more diverse [me thinks this means the customers there are LESS tolerant of rude associates].
To sum it up… If you need something and DON’T require assistance of ANY kind from this location then by all means go… NOW if you are foolish enough to do any of the following:
* Try to purchase rotisserie chicken on Sunday afternoon for dinner
* Get assistance from the bakery
* Need more than basic service from the auto center
Well…all I’ll say then is you’ve been WARNED!

This Sam’s Club is renovating. In addition is the only Sam’s that I know with a self checkout. I’ve had a Sam’s Club membership forever for almost two decades. Yeah, it’s been that long so obviously they are doing something right.
I mainly come to Sam’s to buy dog food, laundry detergent, water, and frozen food. Sometimes when I’m lazy and don’t want to cook or bake, I will stop by and buy rotisserie chicken or brownies.
Either I come really early or later in the day to avoid the crowd.

So I got my Sam’s Club card to get the savings on the gas since I needed premium gas for my car. From time to time I’d stop inside to get a gallon of ice cream or a gross of pine nuts. Well the one that I’d stop at in McDonough had a pretty decent selection of food in there cafeteria. So while I was out on a errand I stopped into the this one to grab a quick bite. Strange I thought that all Sam’s would use the same grade of meat, pizza, etc. Not really the case here, The pizza is bland, hot dogs not so great & the customer service non-​existent. So I’ll stop here again to give them a go but I hope this time was just a fluke.

I needed to get a tire for my car and decided to give them a call to get some pricing. I was greeted by a rude woman by «sam club, can you hold.» after about 5 minutes she returned to the line and said «what do you want» I told her the make and model of my car and she then said «I need size of the tire, you don’t got the vehicle with you?» So I then had to leave my apartment and to to the parking lot and get the tire size (this wouldn’t be a problem except I had called 3 other places and all of them could look up the make and model and I would think Sam’s Club would have an equivalent system).
I finally get the tire size and she say’s they don’t have it in but can order it and it will take 5 days to get in, too which I respond «how much will it cost» and she replied «hold up and I tell you» and it was more expensive than the rest of the quotes.
Needless to say I wouldn’t have gone there if the tire was free after the conversation with the know doubt parolee on the other line.

I’m not a big shopper and usually only shop here occasionally — the gas, on the other hand is usually at least 15 — 20 cents cheaper than other retailers. That alone makes it worth the $ 40 annual membership fee (and the fact that they gave me a $ 20 gift card only served to sweeten the deal… lol)

I am not a huge fan of their produce selection in this Sam’s Club, but their frozen food, rice choices, and seasonal items selections are always excellent. For example, they rotate between holiday selections, Garden/​BBQ equipment, patio furniture etc. It’s always great to find a steal there, and you can’t beat their pricing for the Ice for coolers/​BBQs. It’s like $ 2.50 for 25 lbs of ice. Great deal.
The tire centre isn’t bad either, and the guys there are efficient and very nice. They won’t up-​charge you for no reason, and try to make the customer happy in the end. This Sam’s has a gas station as well which is helpful if you are a member.
The best thing about Sam’s Club is this– from a Bride on a Budget: You can buy wholesale flowers in Bulk from Sam’s Club online and it must have saved me THOUSANDS on my floral budget. I admit, I’m a floral snob and there was no way in heaven or hell that I was using artificial flowers for my centerpieces as some people tried to get me to do. I bot roses, lilies, orchids, filler, baby’s breath and all the equipment I needed and did my own floral arrangements. My centerpieces were GORGEOUS, the ballroom smelled of heaven, and I was very very VERY satisfied.
One more nota bene– if you want your flowers to be Open and not closed (pre-​bloomed) you have to order them several days before your wedding and have them sit out in room temperature so that they can open up and have the room smelling of lush garden.
