Accurate Service

The place should be called Prompt/​Reasonably Priced/​Accurate Service!
There’s nothing like getting in the car to head out for the day only to have your car not start. I have learned that this can be a frequent occurrence during the hot, hot summer months in Tucson, especially if your car has been hanging out in the sun for a while. This particular morning was different though, the thing didn’t even turn over! I knew I had a problem.
I debated for a little while whether or not to cab it over to Sears, then have a handy friend walk me through a new battery install. I contemplated towing it to the dealership because my wheels aren’t that old. Then I remembered a shop that I used to use for professional reasons at an old job in the old pueblo. I called up Accurate and a couple of hours later, Ryan was in my parking lot, new battery in hand!
I definitely paid a bit more than I normally would for a new battery, about $ 130, but when you break it down, it’s not too shabby.
New battery $ 91
Driving it over and installing it $ 30
Taxes and stuff… the remainder
I chatted with Ryan about what the dealer wanted to charge, close to $ 200, and he said that I was getting a better battery at a better price. I asked him to elaborate, and he told me about a dealership that he used to work for in Texas, and the guilt he had charging people more for parts. I get it, I think we all do, the repair industry makes money by selling parts for more than what they pay, and I’m certain that was the case with my $ 130 battery. BUT Ryan seems to like working at Accurate, and that combined with the speed and yeah, accuracy of service (I had to go there) I’m feeling great about giving them my bucks!
