Description

Specialties

Borderlands Brewing Company is downtown Tucson’s premier destination to grab a bite from a local food truck, drink a craft pint or two, check out local bands and artists, and challenge your friends to a game of bocce ball in our new outdoor beer garden.

History

Established in 2011.

Borderlands was started in 2011 by two friends Mike Mallozzi and Myles Stone who hatched a plan to start the brewery during a game of kickball. Mike a Ph.D. microbiologist and Myles a medical student (now M.D.) were amateur home brewers who both had a passion for craft beer and saw an opportunity to share that passion.

After finding the perfect spot (a 100 year old produce warehouse) in downtown Tucson’s warehouse arts district the deal was done. As luck would have it this warehouse was once owned by Myles’ great great great uncle. Since opening Borderlands has been a huge piece of the community and the neighborhood.

After only a year of being open Borderlands upgraded their brewing system from a system that brewed 100 gallons at a time to brewing 600 gallons at a time and business has grown hand over fist every year since they have been open. In 2014 Borderlands began canning one of its signature beers the Noche Dulce vanilla porter which can be found throughout Arizona.
