I reeeally wanted froyo last night, but my usual place is always PACKED with college kids and very noisy, so I discovered that BTO was the same distance from my house. I decided to give it a shot, and I’m glad I did! The yogurt was pretty good, and both the website and Facebook page list the current flavors. I tried the s’mores flavor, which was nicely marshmallowy without being too sweet, and it was awesome with cool whip, brownie bits, and oreo. My husband went for plain vanilla with cinnamon toast crunch cereal and hot peanut butter sauce(can’t say I’ve seen either of those toppings at a froyo place before) and said it was really good. There were plenty of other options that looked good, including sugar-free froyo and fresh fruit that hadn’t been out long. The store was clean and quiet, and the staff was very friendly. There were two TV’s turned to ESPN, lots of places to sit, and overall a nice atmosphere. Overall, I think I’ve got a new default froyo joint! Hopefully they’ll have the peanut butter or red velvet flavors when I’m back next, because those sound awesome :)

Pretty standard fro-yo shop, but it was still solid. They had a good variety of flavors, but I got the tart because I am boring. I thought it tasted better than most tart yogurts from other places. It actually had some flavor to it. I usually get fruit toppings, but I decided to go with candy. Unfortunately, the candy tasted stale. I should have went with the fruit, especially since it looked pretty fresh. There was also four flavors of boba, which is something I had never seen at a fro-yo shop. And while I didn’t try it, they also had melted peanut butter as a topping. I don’t know what could be bad about that! I will definitely get that next time.

The good: the staff is nice, the place is clean, and like all the best fro-yo, it’s serve yourself, sample as much as you like, and enjoy some funky toppings. The bad: I’ve had creamier and better fro-yo. So it’s not bad, per se, it was just disappointing. I live close to a Yogurtland and, as much as I don’t like to compare them… BTO cannot compete when it comes to both creaminess and flavor. Also, it costs more! I got less than I usually do(ounce wise) and it was a dollar more. Fro-yo is still cheap, but a dollar more adds up! When you give a review two stars the Unilocal commentary is «meh. I’ve experienced better» — that’s exactly how I feel about this place!

They have a plethora of topping including fresh fruit(my fave) and some interesting stuff like flavored boba pearls. They have a wide variety of flavors. The staff was friendly and the place clean. Props for getting it almost right. So what’s the problem? The star of the joint — the fro yo — is grainy with outrageously pronounced artificial flavors. As in, it is really, really obvious that my tangerine tart was original with some Tang mixed in. I could sense every granule. My original tart also tasted artificial which must be difficult to achieve considering it has no flavors added to it. It’s close to home and will do in a pinch, but I’m just not impressed.

This place was fun, but I’ll be honest, I’d always choose ice cream over fro-yo. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. The cups are gigantic, but you pay by the ounce. I had peanut butter, coconut and one other flavor I’m forgetting. The little gel balls(I’m sure they have another name!) for topping were super tasty. Lots of good choices — hard to go wrong!

So far, so good for this BTO location. They have lots of frozen yogurt flavors, lots of fresh toppings including cookies, candies, and fruits, and this location even has actual hot fudge. They also have a hot marshmallow topping. Very nice addition to the liquid topping line up, in my opinion! The staff was attentive and friendly. The prices are just fine. This location is really convenient for me, so I’ll be stopping in(too) frequently!
