Loved the crepes! Wide variety of crepes available, if you don’t see what you want, make up your own combination. Coffee is freshly brewed and other drinks are available like juice or water. Service is a little slow when they are busy but the ingredients are fresh and it was worth the wait. One of the better crêpe places I’ve tried. Try the nuttella/banana/strawberry topped with whipped cream or the Apple/brie…you will be in heaven.

Don’t ask to «Split the Check» if the female owner is not in the house, the older white haired lady doesn’t know how to operate the Square.Com terminal. Haven’t even gotten my breakfast and I’ve got a terrible taste in my mouth! Our 3 signature crepes finally arrived and the presentation was nice but the crepes were AMAZING! Definitely a must not miss for the Bess Crepes in Tucson! Proper training of the staff at the pos terminal is crucial in the daily operations of this establishment. I was embarrassed that my fiancée had to cover my meal as «Splitting the Check» was way over her head. I even offered to show her how to do it but all she did was ignore me and embarrass me! Then she went to the back to talk about me to the Chef Owner in an open concept kitchen. Not cool to talk about your customer in front of the entire restaurant! 5* for food /1* for terrible customer service! Overall rating 3*!!

I guess this is the same establishment that used to be on 4th ave in a small but very interesting spot with a nice back patio. I ate there a couple times and the crepes were very good. Unfortunately the food quality has changed with the relocation. I ordered the breakfast crêpe which was disappointingly dry and crunchy with over cooked eggs and tomatoes inside. Adding to the disappointment, the new location is really bad. It looks like a renovated fast food restaurant and although it’s very clean it has no character whatsoever. Like other reviewers have said the service is pretty slow as well. I have a suspicion that the ownership likely changed.

After driving by this place a number of times, we finally decided to give it a try. We stopped in right before noon and to our surprise, there was only one other person there. I ordered the Chicken Pesto Spinach Tomato with Feta cheese and my boyfriend had the Lemon Sugar crêpe. My crêpe came with a sauce that went perfectly with it. I was sad to have finished mine — I was left craving more while heading to work. We also ordered a vanilla latte that was prepared generously to our liking. The only thing we did not like about the latte was the cup that it came in. The presentation of the crepes were great but their latte, not so much. All in all, the owners were so accommodating and made sure we had everything that we needed. I’m glad to say I no longer have to settle for IHOP’s excuse of a crêpe. We will definitely be back :)

I describe these crapes as art and Starbucks has nothing on their coffee. It has such a «at home» yet trendy atmosphere. I LOVE this place!

So, I came in here on a Sunday. It is full of customers and there is about 3 groups in front of me: two groups of four, and one couple. I have been standing in line now for almost 35 minutes. So this place is SLOW. The lady that rings you up is also making the espresso and getting drinks; not the smartest idea at all, which explains the ridiculously long wait so far. Looking at the menu, it is very minimum for the other crêpe places I have eaten at. They also don’t offer a side with your crêpe. I wanted some fresh fruit and it was an upcharge of $ 2.00, but the portion was very generous. If you choose no side, they throw an orange slice on the side for garnsih. The crêpe portions are large though if you choose to get one big one. More than an hour later from when I walked throuhh the front doors, I am still waiting for my crêpe. This place needs more kitchen staff. Not really sure why it is taking so long for a crêpe when they cook exceptionally fast. And the restaurant has plenty of open tables. So this place is just really slow. This place would probably be great if there was no one here and you are the only customer. They really need to beef up the kitchen because the wait times here are insane. I gave two stars because my crêpe was good and the prices weren’t bad. This is my first time here and will definitely be my last.

This is one of those businesses that is successful because they stick to doing one thing and they do it very well. In the case of Café Marcel that one thing is making crepes. I am still missing the Fourth Avenue location, with the cute interior and the chance to watch the crepes being made right in front of you. However, I must say the crepes taste the same, delicious. The new location requires a bit of a leap-of-faith, as it really doesn’t look promising from the street. The lack of curb appeal aside, the food is delicious. If you are hungry go for the full-size but on a regular day the half-size is perfect. This is a basic coffee shop environment so you can get a hot or cold drink to have with your crêpe. As for the crepes, I recommended anything with brie cheese. Everything is good and you can’t go wrong with any of the flavors. I would also recommend eating your crêpe at Café Marcel. I have never tried a take-out crêpe. They are just one of those foods that are so much better when you can eat them immediately. If you have the option, go on a weekday. It does get busy on the weekends. Even with a bit of a crowd Café Marcel is worth trying. Lookup the hours before you go because they do the breakfast-lunch thing and you don’t want to miss these crepes.

Delicious crepes with friendly and helpful staff. You can create your own from any of the ingredients or pick from their savory or sweet list. Didn’t give it 5 stars because of its location. Could use some curb appeal.

I really enjoyed my breakfast and Nutella mocha. I ordered the pear, Apple and Brie sweet crêpe while my friend ordered the savory breakfast crêpe. The staff were very friendly and made sure everything was ordered correctly. They also asked about preferences on milk for my mocha, which usually never happens at a coffee shop. I highly recommend the pear, Apple and Brie crêpe! It’s delicious!

The Good Egg is where I first discovered the glory of crepes. While they only offer crepes and coffee/lattes it is so worth it! We loved the crunch of the outer shell and whether they were sweet or savory(Apple Brie, fruit and granola, both chicken options) the insides were to die for. BEWARE the portions! They are huge for a full and if wanting two I’d definitely suggest two half orders. The dirty chai really hit the spot as well, perfect boost. The only downside is it is a smaller building and the service was SUPER slow. I had 45 min for lunch and I was 30 min late back. Gal at the counter not only took orders but made drinks, definitely could add someone there, which slowed the order line down. And it took about 20 min for the food to come out although they did have orders in front of us. Will be back!

I feel like it’s my duty to fix the bad(good) reviews here on Unilocal, and it’s my hope the owners can take some advice too. First, this is a cute concept which could be very successful if executed properly. Café Marcel is a perfect example of how not to execute. The order taker(a sweet older lady) takes the time to hand make your coffee drinks BEFORE she puts in your order, even with a line out the door. This results in each customer taking about 15 minutes to place their order and only then does the food prep actually start. In our case we came in 2 groups so our food was delayed on our table for 20 minutes between the two groups and by the time we finished our food the folks at the end of the line when we ordered had just reached the counter. This kind of delay is perfectly acceptable when the food backs up the wait, but these crepes were average at best. If they can clean these things up this place could be worth a visit but in its current state you’re probably better off with a Swedish from IHOP.

This little place is easy to miss but don’t miss it! Both the wet and savory crepes were excellent. Half size crêpe was plenty for breakfast! Exactly what I expected for a crêpe!

Crepes and coffee, need I say more? I had the pear apple brie with honey crêpe and it was delicious. I can eat brie cheese with anything so this was like an explosion of brie in my mouph with every bite. I also had the café latte which was strong and delicious. I stopped by around 8:30 am and there was only one other person here so definitely a good time to stop by. Service was exceptional. Two thumbs up.

Waited so long in line that we left to have breakfast somewhere else. There was only one person to take the order, make coffee and check you out. Maybe a batista should be hired. Can’t rate the food because I had to wait too long in line to have a chance to order and eat. Also we came here right after a hike and noticed there is no restroom. Where can we wash our hands or pee?! There might be one outside but there definitely wasn’t one in the restaurant.

This is a cute little local place. I had a savory crêpe and my boyfriend had the sweet one. They were super friendly, and the food was great! I’ll definitely have to be back to try the other options on the menu. I think I found a new favorite brunch spot!

This place is awesome and we love their new location. The pear, apple, Brie, and honey crêpe was amazing! Do yourself a favor and get the smaller meal crêpe so you can also enjoy a sweet one for dessert!

I was going to give this place three stars because there was an abysmal wait but I was informed that service is usually much faster. This was the best meal I had in Tucson. The crepes are light but filling and the savory options are just as good as the sweet ones! I will definitely come back should I ever find myself in Tucson again.

Lovely crepes. The half size is generous. I had the lemon sugar and it was just the right balance of lightly sour and sweet. The lingonberry Swedish was tasty, too, but a little tart for a stand-alone sweet flavor.(I expect that the lingonberry-chicken is a good fit.) The employees(owners?) were super nice. There was a little wait for our food and the dining room has a sorta no-frills cafeteria vibe, but otherwise this was a great breakfast. I’ll definitely be back.

I drove downtown and walked by their door only to realize they weren’t there anymore! So I looked up their new address on Unilocal(note to self, check it BEFORE you drive to 4th ave!). Their new location has a ton of parking as well as inside tables. They also have AC — yay! The food is just as good as their previous place — thankfully! I could eat here daily! the selection of savory and sweet options is just perfect — a little something for everyone. I chose the savory pesto option(which was incredible) and my friend got their banana and Nutella sweet one. we ended up sharing bites because they were both so good!

I love this spot! Every time I go home to Tucson, it’s a must visit. The crepes are SOYUMMY. I always get the fresh fruit, granola and vanilla sauce crêpe. I have tried nibbles of friend’s savory crepes and they are fabulous as well. The coffee is always fresh and delicious, and their espresso drinks are fab. I miss their old location with the killer back patio on 4th ave, as this location has zero outside seating. But sitting inside is so worth it for these amazing noms! The owners are very sweet people who obviously care about their customers and their business. Thanks, Café Marcel, for always making me so happy when I put your food in my belly!

I am currently writing this review at a creperie in Denver and dreaming of a crêpe from Café Marcel. Sadly we moved away from Tucson last year and haven’t been to the new location, but I can tell you their crepes are amazing! They are a perfect texture, just like the French crêpe carts serve them but with delicious additions like the lingonberries and house savory sauce(OMG the sauce!!!) On top of that the owners are just the sweetest, friendliest and hardest working people. They are so deserving of your«Eat Local» dollars!

A gem of breakfast spot! I have been in Tucson for four years and never found it until now. Like other reviewers said, don’t let its exterior stop you from trying this place. It’s a casual spot. You order and pay at the counter first and they bring the food to your table. The owners were friendly and the tea refills are plentiful :) I got a savory crêpe for myself. After a recent trip to IKEA, lingonberry was on my mind and lo and behold there’s a chicken and lingonberry crêpe! Delicious! The gravy they provide with it is also delicious. I also got a sweet crêpe to go for the boyfriend. I had mentioned I was going there and there was an immediate request for a full crêpe for takeaway. I highly recommend this place for locals and visitors alike.

Wow, this place is great! Don’t be fooled my the lackluster location or boring exterior. This place serves up some awesome sweet and savory crepes that taste great and are reasonably priced. My wife and I split two half-sized crepes: one spinach tomato feta pesto, and one Swedish lingonberry crêpe. The total was less than $ 10. First of all, if these are half-sized, I can’t imagine a full size. They’re really big. The spinach et al. crêpe was awesome, with fresh feta and pesto adding a nice flavor to the vegetables. The lingonberry was really good, with the tartness of the berries complementing the sweetness of the crêpe very nicely. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area. They’re only open for breakfast and lunch, so plan accordingly.

The first time I came here it was located on 4th ave, and I didn’t care for it too much, but I went back to try it again and I’m completely 100% in love with the Nutella strawberry, and banana crepes! To die for.

I have been on a crêpe kick… which is hard to fill when you live in Tucson but Café Marcel makes it possible! I know it is time for a review on a place when I continually mention the place to friends. This is what has been occurring when it comes to Café Marcel! I was introduced to the café when I bought a new pair of eyeglasses and the salesperson recommended Café Marcel to me. He could not get over how delicious his breakfast was! I was so close to going directly to Café Marcel for lunch but I waited a few days and went with a fellow Unilocaler friend. We were both super impressed! The customer service was lovely and the crepes were the loveliest. We shared a sweet and a savory and they were both excellent! The savory crêpe was my favorite though and I have already brought my boyfriend back to C.M. for another. If you are a pesto fan, I would recommend the spinach, tomatoes, feta and pesto crêpe! The side of creamy herb sauce that comes with it is excellent. Many delicious sweet crêpe choices too! Shared the nutella and strawberry on my first visit and it was so yummy.

I’m so glad Café Marcel moved from 4th because now I can finally get crepes without having to deal with the agony of street parking. Basically: super low key atmosphere, delicious crepes. You really can’t go wrong with savory or sweet. You can also be a glutton like me and get both(½ chicken lingonberry & ½ pear/honey/apple/brie pls & thx). The wait after ordering can be a little long, but the crepes were super enjoyable and satisfying.

The owner reached out and apologized after our last experience and asked to give them another try, which we did. One word – delightful! The menu consists of «savory» or «sweet.» They also have a breakfast menu. But all of that is just to give you an idea of what to order or make the decision making easier because the reality of it is that they will allow you to create your own crépe with any combination of ingredients. Yum! We ordered a ham, Brie, tomato, and spinach crépe. We also ordered a Swedish Lindenberry with bananas. It came with whipped cream. Both were really delicious. The crépe itself was light and slightly sweet. Very tasty. The ham crépe came with a sauce the side that we couldn’t tell what it was, it was so light. It was difficult to choose whether to use e sauce or not because the crépe tasted good with it and it also tasted good without it. They have board and card games to play and we chose«Blink.» We had fun playing while waiting for our order. At the time of this writing, this is their last day at their current location. They will be moving to Oracle Ave. and are shooting to open the first week of March. I wish them all the best in their move and at their new location. I hope they stay open for a long time.

This is potentially the last meal I will have in Tucson, and I’m glad I picked this place. I came here the day after my last day at U of A(Saturday before Christmas). At 9 am, surprisingly, there were not a lot of customers. I was able to pick a window seat and enjoy some quiet time by myself. Crepes are made fresh to order, and they can only make two at a time. The owner told me that they only have enough power for all the current equipments they have, so I guess that explains the long wait others had mentioned in their reviews. The wait was long. Even though there was only one table filled(family of three) when I came in, I still waited about 10 minutes for my crêpe. The crêpe itself was amazing. I had the breakfast crêpe and desert rose tea. They are just perfect. The home-made herb sauce was so good but a bit heavy for me. The portion is very large, but I still finished everything because it was so good. If I ever come back to town, this is the place I would come back to. I’m glad I picked this to be my last sit down meal in Tucson.
