Love dickmans! Great employees and service! They are really friendly and offer good suggestions. It’s easy to spend a lot here but you never feel guilty supporting such a great place. They have a lot of frozen speciality and unusual meats on the side and a full butcher case of deli and salads. They also make sandwiches and subs to go.

We used to come here all the time for their ugly steaks, which are quite tasty.(Pay no mind to the name). Absolutely great for grilling and cook outs! Though steak kinda fell off the menu when my guest list got a little bigger, they are still great for small parties. ;-)

I’ve only been to Dickman’s once because meat makes me queasy. I have no clue why, I eat it cooked, the raw meat smell grosses me out every single time and so my rad husband goes in and handles the meat. He’s great at handling that meat! I married a champ in the meat department, but I digress. It has the atmosphere of… a butcher shop! Surprise! It smells like… a butcher shop! Surprise again! We get the ugly steaks as is the popular trend. My husband, the meat handler has informed me that they are bottom sirloins. I think they’re pretty phenomenal. We also purchase seasonings and rubs there. My husband likes to rub the meat to prepare it for handling. He’s a meat pro. I almost got a sandwich when I visited, but after about 30 minutes in the store with my husband the meat fanatic, I had to get out of there. No offense. Dickman, you are both a gentleman and a scholar. Don’t let my queasy stomach get you down. I’m just weird.

The employees will make you feel uncomfortable by shaking their heads and throwing their arms up when you pull up 15 mins before they close to run in and grab something. I think that’s really crappy, and I’m never coming back. Sorry that you’re getting paid to work and make it so obvious with your body language that you don’t want to be. Won’t be back and won’t recommend to anyone. *edit* I feel like my review wasn’t an accurate one of the entire Dickmans experience so other than the bad experience I had with the employees who so obviously didn’t want to help me, Dickmans is great. And that’s why we rushed over 15 mins before close. Because we wanted steak to grill, specifically steak from Dickmans. We love it and will be back despite the poor judgment the employees displayed.

Love this place! I am in no way a skilled cook, griller, etc — but I like to try. When a recipe calls for beef, I start here. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about different cuts of meat, and help me pick the right cut of beef every time. I have yet to try the infamous ugly steaks, but the roast beef and other cuts of beef have all been absolutely delicious… and cheaper than what I would pay at the normal grocery store. They also have Boar’s Head brand deli meats/cheese, which I price-checked, and they are lower than grocery stores, too.

We like coming here to get ugly steaks for Sunday dinner. Nothing better than throwing them on the grill with some of their twice baked potatoes(wrapped in foil). We are frequent customers and the customer service and product quality keeps us coming back.

I get my prime rib roast and Dave’s ugly steaks here. The frozen bison tenderloin was a disappointment. Not fresh… Friendly service and mostly yummy meats. However they are misleading customers on one of their steaks… One day I noticed they had Dave’s Ugly Kobe Steak and was curious if it was that much better than the regular ugly. Without thinking, I naturally asked how the Dave Ugly Wagyu steak was. The butcher asked me if I was asking the difference between Kobe and Wagyu. I said no, I know the difference. And mentioned that real Kobe steak has to come from Kobe, Japan and that I wanted to see his thoughts between the two version of the uglies. He then asks another guy who confirmed it was from the USA. However instead of realizing it’s really Wagyu and not Kobe, he continues to describe it as Kobe steak and how the marbling was and how they have a customer who comes in every week to buy them. Many places realize consumers know the difference and have started calling domestic or ones from Australia, American Kobe, Kobe style, but more accurately Wagyu. I’m sure it’s a great steak, just disappointed it’s frozen for the price they are asking. Would need to special order for fresh ones.

C’mon now. We just bought 6#‘s of ugly steaks. Thought it looked different in the store. But it’s only Flank/Skirt meat. Nothing to rave about.

The Corned beef Sandwich is delicious and a good value like in the good old days. The staff is very friendly and sincere. The pretty lady making the sandwiches puts an extra ingredient of love in them. Haven’t tried the steaks yet that’s next time. Highly recommended for lunch.

Love, love, love the uglies! We wanted a good grilling meat and Dickman’s rose to the occasion. Everything was stellar and we were more than happy with our food! The steaks tasted amazing and honestly the only thing I have had is the Uglies and we loved them! They were better than when we go to a steak house. Yummmmmm!

Stopped in to grab a few ugly steaks for dinner, my favorite! The place is always inviting with friendly staff. I absolutely love their meat bundles it’s really good when you have a larger family. If you want quality meat at a good price this is the place. I’ve been coming here for years and have no complaints.

I get it, the meat here is pretty good. The ugly steaks are pretty fantastic and the staff is friendly. However, on three separate occasions I’ve purchased items such as chicken kievs and even meat loaf … each time I purchased these, they were seasoned differently. The original flavor I had experienced and hoped for a second time(prayed for the third time) never reappeared. I was so disappointed.(Especially when I’m spending $ 10 on a meat loaf.) The staff may be friendly, but I just get an overall unclean feeling from many of them. Like their hygiene isn’t so great at home? I think the lack of dress code is sloppy and unappealing. The women are often in short shorts or ripped/tattered jeans. Many employees have unkempt hair, as if they haven’t seen a hairbrush in weeks. I have also seen men in basketball shorts and sweat pants… Nothing says professional like a good olé pair of sweats and some bed head! The store is a little unclean and cluttered. There is too much going on as far as seasonings, charcoal, and other random things on display(like shoes… They’re selling shoes?) The layout is just dysfunctional and cramped.

Back at this local favorite again to stock up on holiday bbq items. What can I say love it! If you are in the mood for the normal, they’ve got it, if you’re in the mood for exotic they’ve got it too! Even though a lot of what they offer in the exotic is frozen it’s still fun to find some kangaroo meat or camel burgers to taste. The customer service is fab and always polite even when busy. Sometimes you ha e to be a bit forward to get what Ya need but it’s all there. Went in to find my Santa Maria seasoning I love(the only place I can find it outside Cali) and they were out! But the staff recommendation for a new style did not disappoint. Went with some ORo valley gold seasoning and it was great with my steaks! Faves: salmon and ugly steaks

My boyfriend works on the east side every monday so when I have it off, I bring him lunch at Dickman’s and always go home with some tasty meats! The last time we came home with some Wisconsin bratwurst. Delicious and cheap! my favorite combo. Also they are taking orders for turkeys for thanksgiving. Definitely gonna get on that gravy train.

Yes, the ugly steaks are pretty good, and need no extra seasoning, but I also really like, and might even prefer the«Jan’s Special» steak. I also always pick up some sausages(Packer and New York, I believe) from the freezer section when I’m there since the frozen ones are on sale for really cheap. They sell all kinds of unique meats, like camel, python, ect… if you’re into that. It’s just too bad they’re Green Bay fans though(go Bears! haha).

Dickman’s. You wanna know what’s great about Dickman’s? I mean besides saying«Dickman’s»? Because the 5th grade me loves saying it… Dickman’s, Dickman’s, Dickman’s. It brings me joy, like saying Humpback whale and Homo Erectus. Dickman’s. It smells like a butcher shop– rich, heady, meat soaked, delightful. Rib-eyes, T-bones, New Yorks, prime rib and tenderloin. Can they french your rack? Hell yeah, they can. Wild game? Oh yeah. Great customer service and cooking advice? Absolutely. Huge bags of mesquite to caveman up your kill? Yep, they got it. Full deli with sandwiches and salads? Yes sir! Ugly steaks and twice baked potato? It’s our favorite weekend feast. I love Dickman’s, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I can’t gush about this place the way others do. I mean, the sandwiches are made from high quality Boar’s head meat, but it’s still just a sandwich. Plus, when you call a sandwich a «brisket sandwich» and you get deli sliced roast beef, it’s just a little disappointing. That being said the different kinds of meat you can get here is unequaled in this town. Almost anything that walks, hops, slithers, swims or flies can be found in their freezer. We are talking, duck legs, camel, whole rabbits and python… yes python! More of the walking variety is available in the meat case in the form of ribs, ground meat, chops, steaks, roasts and different sausages. I have had the ugly steak, which is basically a flap steak. I was not as impressed with it as others, but perhaps I did not prepare it right. As I said, the sandwiches are good and high quality, but I doubt I would go out of my way to come here for that. Now… if I ever get the hankering for a camel burger or python stew I know where I can go.
