Nothing special about this joint to be honest. I will say that their Georgia Sauce is pretty good. Lunch special is pretty decent but there is so much more that I feel should encompass BBQ. Its a franchise so I think the original ways get lost when the person who started it no longer has eyes on the end goal. Overall its average but I wouldn’t tell anyone not to go hear. Customer service is always good but then again I never stay, I get to go.

I’ve been hearing about how great this place is for a long time. I’m more into small«mom & pop» BBQ shacks. I think that there’s more love put into their food. However, Famous Dave’s did not at all disappoint. The food there was absolutely amazing. I must say it beat my expectations tenfold. The food there was an A+!!! If you go there, I promise you will leave satisfied. Now I regret not going much sooner. The staff was amazing, very good customer service. The waiter is a mind reader, so most of the things you’ve had to wait on or ask for, at other restaurants, like refills, or to-go boxes, you won’t have to worry about doing that there.

Arrived Saturday evening and were seated immediately… Took close to 10 min for anyone to come over to our table. They brought our drinks and said the waiter would be right with us…10 more minutes and he took our order with an attitude. Our order was small and simple. we split a ½ slab which was delicious as always. I wish it were more tender. he thoroughly enjoys them regardless. We waited another 15 min for food and were not checked on through the duration of the meal. We were going to order more cornbread but he never came back. Needless to say, Hector… was having a bad day or he’s a terrible server, one or the other. Food is good for the price.

Terrible 45 minute wait for 2 sandwiches. The brisket was horrible. Tasted tough, fatty, and OLD. Little squares instead of a whole slide. Really bad.

I had the feast for one tonight. The roasted chicken was VERYDRY! The pulled pork was VERYDRY, even with sauce on it. The brisket was way over cooked, and VERYDRY. The ribs were just OK. None of the sides were that great. I’m DONE with Dave’s.

Terrible! This was our first and last time coming here. We were really in the mood for bbq and thought we would try this place out. Well… while the service was friendly, they were not prompt. I can get over that, we never went without a drink and ordered quickly. What I can’t get over was the food and the prices. First of all, for the amount of food you get, their prices are way too high! Second, the food was crap. My husband ordered the brisket with potato salad and coleslaw. The sides were just ok(how do you screw up potato salad or coleslaw?!) but the brisket was absolute crap! It was dry, burnt, chewy and fell apart when you tried to pick it up with a fork(not in a good way). This was super disappointing! My meal was just ok. I had the bbq chicken which was moist but super messy. My sides were also just ok. I had the mashed potatoes and pineapple steaks. The mashed potatoes just had a weird taste to them and the pineapple was hard, too hard to even eat. All in all, the only thing we enjoyed was the cornbread. We will not be returning here. Tucson needs a good affordable bbq place because this isn’t it!

Me and my fiancé had a good time the place is always packed and the food is good. Wait staff is great and helpful we defiantly will be returning. I recommend that they build a location on the east side of town so we can go more often the drive is just a little too far for us us living on the east side of town.

Ice Cold Beer, BBQ Wings and Fries all together for about 7.00. The way Friday night should be. Good food on a great night. Great service as well.

Horrendous… First off came in at 8:45 pm on Saturday, and more than half the restaurant is empty with chairs up. And there’s was a 10 – 15 min wait. That’s fine maybe not enough workers or already anticipating a slow night. Order the feast for two with brisket. First mistake, how can serve ribs with the membrane still on? They were very salty as well. 2nd mistake, serving brisket that was not cooked properly, had the texture of cardboard, oh and very very salty. 3rd calling a slice of regular bread Texas toast. Everything was salt galore for whatever reason. Never been so disappointed with bbq in my life. Tucson location is terrible. At Least the one in Glendale can prep and smoke meat properly. The only good thing about dinner was our waiter, being attentive.

Had great full slab of ribs, wilbur beans & fries. That being said my moms ring tips were burnt and dried out and there is no way that you could eat them we had to send them back and she had to get something else instead so she had chili

Arrived at 1:30, no one at front but a sign saying wait to be seated. Bartender on phone in s personal call. When a host finally appeared, they took my name and told me there was a wait even tho’ there were tons of empty tables! OMG-buy a clue! There’s lots of options really close by that want my business. You’re not long for this business!

For was pretty good and the service was friendly. If you order the brisket sandwich for lunch, make sure you say sliced meat not chopped. The only thing I would say is the price is fairly high for a sandwich and a soda, $ 16. Hmm Good food, but a bit pricey or I would have given them a 5. Hope that helps :)

Three of us came here for a business lunch for our boss’s birthday. We were seated and then proceeded to wait over 15 minutes just to give our drink orders and to receive food menus. We then waited another 15 minutes before the waitress returned so that we could place our order. Our order was very simple: two burgers(requested medium rare) and a brisket sandwich. After 30 minutes our food came out; the burgers were extremely overcooked and barely edible. Because this was a business lunch, we were on a timeline to get back to work. The waitress then disappeared(no drink refills, never asked us if the food was ok, nothing). When she finally appeared, we kindly asked for the bill and she disappeared again for 20 minutes! My boss(being fed up) told us we had to leave and sent one of our party members to find the waitress and pay her. All of a sudden the waitress appears and tells the manager that we ran out on the check(after we waited nearly 30 minutes for her to come by the table). We paid our bill at the front desk. This experience was horrendous and it was made worse by the fact that the food is certainly not cheap. We were treated rudely and disrespectfully. As returning customers, we were extremely insulted and disappointed by this experience. We likely won’t return.

Had lunch with there with friends and ordered the meal for 6 – 8 and we had about 4 people … Environment was really small… Tables crunch up together… Customer service was horrible … It seems like they care about talking to each other and on their phones before helping us out … I had to wait 20 minutes before a refill… And I had to ask … Everything tastes normal … But for the price of $ 60+ for everything… Ribs were the only thing good and everything else seems like you can cook up for a lot cheaper … Horrible customer service, horrible prices, environment is too small

We are in town visiting family and grandma wanted BBQ from this place. Grandma is a wonderful cook and we always have excellent food at her house so I had high expectations for this place. When we went in we were greeted properly and service was friendly for the short time it took to order take out. While waiting for our order to be prepared I overheard a man complaining about his last takeout order, at the time I didn’t think much of it. We ordered the family feast or something of the sort, I don’t remember the exact name. It was a lot of food but it was also $ 70. It came with brisket that was dry and like cardboard, chicken that was just ok and ribs that had little to no meat that were also dry. The potato wedges, coleslaw, corn bread, baked beans and corn on the cob were all good but nothing spectacular. Oh and I might add that no BBQ sauce came with our meal and while I’m not a fan of smothering good meat in sauce, this meat sure could have used some sauce. Overall I am disappointed in the quality of the BBQ. I sure hope grandma enjoyed it because I know my boyfriend and I did not.

I came here on Thursday for a date with my boyfriend and it was really great! The atmosphere was nice and homey, and our waitress was super friendly. The décor reminded me of that show«American Pickers», where they collect old gas cans and retro coca cola signs. I love that show and it felt so nostalgic. I had the Jacked-N-Stacked brisket burger, and my boyfriend had the Devil’s Spit brisket burger. The portions were huge for the price, so that was amazing also. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. I will definitely come back again.

This BBQ is really good for Tucson! I would give it 4 stars although I’m from Saint Louis one of the BBQ capitals of the world if there it would get 2 stars. The staff is friendly and willing to help and earn tips. Mac and Cheese is excellent!

I can understand why a chain like Famous Dave’s exists. It’s because McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut & Taco Bell also exist. I think it’s because of the dumbing down of American taste buds and to merely placate hunger without genuine quality.(Would you care for some Soilent Green as an appetizer?). Seriously though, I’ve been there several times and sure it does it’s job, but only to be disappointed because it’s not of the highest quality food. But like I said it’s a chain restaurant and how good could it possibly be? I’m not saying that Famous Dave’s is horrible because it’s certainly not. All I’m saying is that it’s just not really an authentic BBQ experience. Nor is it prepared, cooked or served by professionally trained chefs, pit masters or dedicated servers. It’s a just another chain outpost designed to serve the masses, and if you’re hungry it’s a place that’s good enough to tame the urge. But when you crave real BBQ this ain’t the place. That’s why I myself make a nearly 200 mile round trip to Chandler at least once a month to get my real BBQ fix on at Rudy’s. Yes Rudy’s is also a chain but it’s the real deal. Yes it’s a bit of a step down below the gods of Texas BBQ in Austin, Lockhart & Luling TX, but it’s definitely in the superior major league category of quality BBQ when compared to Famous Dave’s. However Famous Dave’s isn’t trying to compete at that level. They obviously simply serve their niche, no problem, I get it. However for those of you who don’t know better or even care then it’s easily a 4 star establishment and no insult intended. But for those who worship the real deal like me then this will not satisfy your BBQ groove, that’s all I’m saying.

We sat at the bar waiting for our table and they have a very appealing daily happy hour. Love my date. Our menu choices were delicious, service could show a slight improvement by being more on the friendly side. We will be back.
