My husband and I were in Tucson for one night and were looking for a place to watch the Coyotes game when we found Fire + Spice inside the Sheraton. Nice little place. More like a tapas bar than a restaurant. Several televisions and cozy places to sit. The service wasn’t fantastic but the bartender was pretty busy. Had a couple of tapas and a bottle of wine to start. Very good but we really needed more food. So we got the Chicken Caesar wrap and the Santa Cruz Club wrap. Both came with fries and were absolutely delicious. I would definitely get them again. Nice atmosphere, not too noisy, yummy food and drinks — I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Tucson and looking for a quiet bar.

Their burger is delicious. Their beer battered onion rings are some of the best in the city. The prickly pear wings are sweet and unique. The crème brûlée is on the best I’ve ever had; even beating out Le Rendez-vous. While I have nothing but good things to say about their food, their servers were a bit slow. I gave them the benefit of the doubt when it was busy, but it was the same speed when it was empty. I will still come back for the crème brûlée though!

Only the great steak that topped the under-dressed Caeser salad saves this from a one star debacle. Sine they had no iced tea and the lone serving person hadn’t thought about it until I went back inside to get us some water, I can’t comment on that. The Mexican corn was incredibly poorly done, undercooked, covered with mayo and no cheese, which presumably was hiding out with the parmigiana that was not on that salad. I realize Sunday afternoon is not prime time for a restaurant, but this really was way below par.

Great service-Thank you Edward!!! The food was fantastic, way better than I had anticipated. The fried ice cream was well worth the calories. The menu offered a large selection. We were leery of eating at the hotel restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised! Casual attire, as with most Tucson restaurants, so if you’re looking for something really fancy, this wouldn’t be the spot. Overall, I would recommend this spot!

I was staying at the Sheraton couple nights ago so decided to go to the restaurant for a drink. Reasonable prices so that was nice. The bartender/server was very nice. I ended up ordering a couple items to take back to my room. I got a cheese quesadilla and chicken nachos. They both were really tasty. The cheese on the nachos was so flavorful. The salsa that came with the quesadilla was really really good. I definitely would come back.

Fire + Spice is actually room service for the Sheraton Hotel. I stayed there on my way to Dallas and wanted to grab a meal. I noticed they had a great selection of southwestern food. I ordered Tortas with Black beans and rice. For being room service it was pretty darn tasty!!! They also delivered the food very quickly. If I lived in Tucson I would probably eat here. If you are traveling its actually pretty far from the 10 so unless you are in the area I am not sure if its worth the drive because of the traffic. If you are feeling adventurous though I recommend this place.

I would give the food a 2.5. We tried Fire & Spice to use our entertainment coupon before it expires. It is Christmas time, but even at 3pm we were the only diners for a half hour. The waitress was cheerful & nice. It took about 15 min to get a decaf coffee(it was brewed fresh) &2 glasses of wine. The bread was fresh & warm with soft butter, not the hard squares you get some places. The food was just fair. Although my husband enjoyed his skirt steak chimichuri. My mom’s enchiladas were tiny with several bites of fat in them. The grilled ham & cheese was just so so. There are many other restaurants in Tucson with better & less expensive fare. And as others mention, you have to seek & find to come to the entrance. We will go elseware for good Tucson food.

We were pleasantly surprised by the service and the food! Despite the negative reviews we found everyone on the staff to be polite and attentive. We visited with a bunch of extended family members and everyone was happy with their meals. The tortilla soup was amazing!

Very conveniently located in the Sheraton Hotel. Really nice place with the possibility of having dinner by the pool around the fire pits. The food was really good. I had the snake bites, that were delicious and the pasta which I really enjoyed. The flourless chocolate cake was really good choice as well. It’s a little bit over priced, but if you are staying in the hotel, you want to have some drinks(great lemon drop and martinis) and not worry about driving, it’s the place to go. It really makes the Sheraton the hotel to go in Tucson.

Kinda tired, as was the hotel. Chefs app board was good. Food and service was average. We were the only guests for dinner.

Came here with my bf when we bought a groupon. We arrived after dark and the ambiance was beautiful. The lighting was romantic and it was next to the resort pool. The food wasn’t completely memorable but it was pretty good. We came back again just for the incredible ambiance and great service.

I’ve been staying at Starwood hotels for 6 years, and Victor(the bar tender) may have the best customer service I’ve encountered in that time. He runs a clean bar, serves good food from the kitchen, is calm and inviting, and incredibly polite. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and my stay, and attribute this largely to Victor.

The server looked miserable as she seated us, and it was soon apparent why: she’d be the one delivering the bad news — dinner. It’s rare and uncomfortable to me to dole out one star reviews, so I hope to save them for where they are merited. To put it simply: halving portion size and doubling price does not alone a fine dining experience make. I ordered the vegetable enchilada dinner plate and was served two dry, flavorless flautas(think of a tortilla wrapped around a sliver of zucchini and oven baked) and a half cup of rice. For five bucks, it would have been a mediocre appetizer. For a fourteen dollar entrée, it was a joke. My husband forked over all the fries that accompanied his burger in attempt to supply me any substance. Other reviews mention fresh bread and butter — none was offered to us. The restaurant website notes live music and outdoor seating around fire pits — also, not this evening. The place was empty in peak hour, save some folks at the bar at the hotel for a convention. If the service was warm, or the food heartier, or flavorful, or the prices more practical, or the atmosphere less a downer, I could be forgiving. Instead I went back up to my room at the adjacent Sheraton and drank a far more satisfying $ 9 bottle of wine.

I’d heard good things about this place, but never eaten here, although my parents always stay in this Sheraton when they visit. I figured it would be an easy meal for us on their last night in town. Potentially one of the most underwhelming experiences I’ve ever had. The server gave the distinct impression that she’d rather be anywhere else in the world, and that we were sort of an annoying imposition on her time. The menu was short; there was very little to choose from, hardly anything for vegetarians. The enchiladas couldn’t be be made vegetarian because they were«rolled in the morning.» The children’s menu was unavailable(although the server recited it for the kids), as was the pizza menu, because they were being reprinted. The server couldn’t recite the available pizza toppings, but claimed they had«anything you’d put on a pizza.» When my father asked for his favorite toppings, they were not available. I ordered the salmon which was middling, nothing special. It was a small piece of fish drowned in an overly sweet sauce. The rice was edible, but sort of looked like it had been sitting around. Neither of these foods gave the impression of being very fresh, although the grilled vegetables were. At $ 20, it felt WAY overpriced. My mother ordered sweet pototo rellenos and didn’t like them at all. It was just chiles, cubed sweet potatoes, and a bit of cheese, not really a relleno at all. My father got the pizza, and if it wasn’t the worst pizza I’ve ever tasted, it was pretty close. I’ve had better pizza at the bowling alley. The crust was like a piece of soft bread. The ingredients did not scream«high-quality.» This pizza made me yearn for the frozen generic pizza in the grocery freezer case. The kids liked their meals. My stepson had chicken fingers, which were pretty run-of-the-mill, and onion rings, which were probably the best item we ate that night. The onions were sliced to a good size and the breading was crispy, although it had a strange, bitter aftertaste. I’m guessing this food was frozen. My stepdaughter loved her macaroni, which isn’t saying much. It looked like last week’s leftovers and when my stepson tasted it, he said it tasted like it had been in the microwave. She was told the fruit side would be watermelon and strawberries, but there wasn’t much in the way of strawberries, and the whole dish had the taste and appearance of something that had been sitting in the back of the fridge all week with discolored watermelon chunks and tiny random bits of other fruit swimming in the juice at the bottom. Basically, nothing looked or tasted fresh. This place isn’t doing much for the reputation of southwestern cuisine. Also, our waitress disappeared after checking in on us once.(She was most likely not busy with other tables, as we were the only people in the section, and possibly the restaurant by that time.) Ten minutes after we finished eating, my mother had to get up and hunt her down to ask her for the check. Might give the place another chance if/when they revamp their menu but at not running.

I had reviewed this earlier but for some reason it doesn’t show up. Four of us really enjoyed Fire and Spice for dinner a few weeks ago. We tend to avoid restaurants attached to hotels as we have found they can be overpriced and mediocre. The restaurant had few patrons which was wonderful as it was quiet and peaceful, which is what we prefer in dining establishments. The ambience is almost elegant: modern décor, comfortable tables, very attractive surroundings. The service was as good as we could want: appropriately speedy, attentive, and professional. The food? Two of us had the NY steaks. It was $ 23 each, which certainly is not inexpensive, but we both agreed it was worth every cent. The beef was like prime beef(don’t know if it was however) and was juicy, tasty, tender and cooked to perfection with a nice wood-flavor(mesquite?) overtone. The side of a combo sweet/white mashed was wonderful. My wife’s fish tacos were really quite unique and very tasty. The salsa was homemade with great care. Our friend ordered a chicken pasta dish and loved it. I also thought it tasted a step above a typical restauarant pasta dish. Bread with two spreads was served before dinner. The drinks were quite good, Bahama Mamas. But expensive at $ 8! However the large size may justify the high cost We thought the location, in a chain hotel, but tucked in amidst the beautifully-landscaped grounds and swimming pool, was quite nice. Much nicer than looking out a restaurant window onto Speedway traffic! All in all we really enjoyed Fire and Spice, feel they have a cook who is a step above the ordinary, appreciated the service and are going back today to try their lunch.

Went to this place because we picked up a Groupon for it. Although it was pretty sparse in attendance. I do have to say that the food was pretty good. The standout for me was their tortilla soup. The server brought out the soup bowl and as I peered into it I said something that made me seem like a bit of a prat. Peering into the bowl it looked like a salad of sorts, no aqueous base that generally accompanies soups. So I opened my mouth prematurely and said«Umm, I ordered the tortilla soup» Foot in mouth moment. The server just glanced and me and picked up an additional bowl containing the base and poured it over the solid ingredients. The outcome was quite tasty. Overall my wife and our friend who we were with agreed that the food was good and another visit to the restaurant was not out of the question.

Were in town visiting my folks S. of Tucson and decided we’d like to go for something at least nice before the night was out on New Year’s Eve and decided on this place after looking at our options on where at least we could get a price break. The menu sounded promising and lately mid to high end hotels have been doing a better job of having a quality restaurant experience. Well, this place is trying hard but just can’t pull it off. First, the location inside the Sheraton is strange-it is buried in the middle-past a bunch of rooms and past the pool. Once inside, the décor was nice but somehow it didn’t have a lively atmosphere. Maybe that is because it was about a third full on New Year’s Eve at 9 pm. I am more used to good hotel restaurants being near the entrance of the hotel where you really don’t even have to go into the hotel and thus end up feeling autonomous. The service was middling. Our waitress seemed tentative and unsure. The broth for the tortilla soup was quite lukewarm-and having her serve it at the table allowed her the opportunity to spill some of it all around the outside of the bowl. Our entrees(Carne Asada and one of the steak options which no longer seems to be on their website menu) were fine but nothing that made you savor it for long. The worst part was waiting over 20 minutes for our tiramisu and crème brule at around 10:30 when I think there was only one other table in the place and they were working on their appetizers. I’m guessing that the chef was also pulling dessert duty. In closing, this place looks fine, has a nice sounding menu with a potentially innovative approach but manages to fall short what a really good restaurant should be even in a hotel environment.

Great flavor, maybe the best southwest food I ever tasted. Fish taco is absolutely delicious. And the chicken tortilla soup — wow!

I noticed a sticker that says«People love us on Unilocal» I thought hey this place can’t be that bad! WRONG. They screwed up our orders and the food came out cold. We had to wait for 30 minutes before we got any bread or drinks. You would think a place in a hotel would have better service. No one came out to apologize. There was one good thing though is that they have really good fried ice cream.

Slow service. Food ranges from good to excellent. Live jazz on the patio some evenings. Prices are on the high side. The signature margarita is excellent.
