I love this place. I am so thankful there is a decent and affordable Phở on the east side of town. The portion size of the meals are big and for a quick meal it hits the spot for our family without hitting the budget. The staff is also really friendly and the atmosphere seems peaceful. This is a new staple for this family!

Food here has changed in the last year. I still go because it’s close to the house but always leave less than impressed. The grilled pork swims in oil these days and when I asked who I could talk to so I can leave a comment/suggestion, I was told it was someone who was cooking in the back who I wasn’t able to talk to. Staff is generally very friendly which is a plus.

They stopped making their wings :((Such a sad day when I found out! That was pretty much the main reason I came here. The wings were amazing. Other than that, everything is decently priced and good portions. The quality of the food isn’t top notch. This is moreso a place to go when you want Asian food, but can’t afford it so you’ll settle for cheap mediocre Asian food. Lol. Bring the wings back! Ooh. And their spring rolls are good, if they have them and they’re fresh ^.^

Absolutely Unacceptable, gray rubbery chicken that had a taste of freezer burn or maybe it was a week old. In desperate need of seasoning. Waste of $ 10 for lunch

I am in walking distance of this place so it has become my benchmark for dishes such as Phở. If I go to another Vietnamese restaurant and the Phở isn’t as good, I am pretty irritated because«I could have just walked to Hot Wok». So far, maybe a quarter of the places I’ve been to around the world are«better» Phở-wise. So Hot Wok isn’t bad. It is very consistent and I do really like their ribs to boot. If you are on the East Side, it is worth stopping in, but not worth driving miles out of your way. The staff there has always been friendly and I’ve never had any issues even if I make special requests(my kid won’t eat fried rice if there are scallions in it and the Hot Wok chefs will dutifully leave them out, for example).

Okay so I haven’t been here in a really long time but decided to come back and try it to see if it is still the same yummy food at the same yummy price. I got the vermicelli bowl with lemon grass chicken and some spring rolls… It was delicious! Prices are very reasonable and the food is still very fresh! Would and will definitely be coming back!

Firstly, the place is a dump. There isn’t a single decorative picture on the walls and the doors are filthy with old handprints. The staff was hanging around chatting when I arrived, and served me pretty reluctantly. And they have Jesus music playing, which frankly ruins my appetite. The spring rolls came out fast but the preoccupied staff didn’t grab them for a while. They were ok, but the peanut sauce is cold rather than hot which is off putting. Large, but stuffed mostly with noodles. Also got the pad Thai which is passable, but more on par with a Pei Wei than a good local place. There is a definite overtone of something, which may be cleanser; first thing that hits your nose when you walk in rather than food aromas.

I hadn’t been here since they reopened, And it was delicious. I had the spring rolls with pork and shrimp and the lemongrass shrimp. Both items were fresh and full of flavor. The best part is they are reasonably priced too! Love this place.

Excellent food — great people working here — friendly & helpful. Combination fried rice was tasty — chicken, beef, & shrimp. Love that they play KLOVE radio here, too!

After hitting up Great Village Chinese Restaurant, I rolled over to Hot Wok to pick up some Spring Rolls(second craving for this evening). I never had Hot Wok before so I decided to ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. The Spring Roll was a-okay, but nothing special. Not fresh, disclolored veggies inside. I would gladly trade portion for quality when it comes to Spring Roll! *The Peanut Sauce, ummmm yeah, I think I’ll pass next time! Tasted like confectioners sugar, soy sauce, and peanuts. The Kung Pao Chicken was good(Hubby said it was phenomenal). A little too much soy sauce for my taste. Fair portion, fresh, and hot. *The White Rice was nicely cooked, possibly minute rice though. I will return for round two! Also, and so far, I would eat here over Panda Express.

Found this diamond in the rough! The best chicken and shrimp fried rice, ever and the eggrolls on point also. They aren’t shamed to pile up your plate!

The setting is interesting and unique. The food is okay, not great but good, with decent variety. But the service is so lackadaisical as to be almost non-existent. The only grown ups here seem to be the customers, with the staff seemingly comprised solely of unsupervised teenagers. They’re not bad kids, but they haven’t the faintest clue about customer service. And no one has taught them. And nobody is there to check on them. If this restaurant fails, they will have deserved it for not paying attention to the most important ingredients, the PEOPLE. And that includes both the customers they ignore, and the poor kids they inflict upon them.

Sadly I didn’t write this review right away so I don’t remember all I ordered. They did screw up my order and I didn’t want to drive all the way back so ended up throwing half away. I really wanted to like this place, large selection. Just a step up from Panda Express… Which I guess is what some ppl like. Mongolian beef wasn’t spicy and was just too sweet. I remember knowing I wasn’t impressed and won’t go back.

I think this restaurant does a good job on their Chinese dishes. My family has been there many times and love their food. I would recommend this place.

We usually go their for lunch or dinner but NEVERAGAIN. My husband stopped the other night for take– out and we ate as soon as he got home. Within 20 min we were both very sick He had made a comment to the waitress about how the food had changed ex. Portion sizes, taste, even the breaded green beans that used to be long big &. crispy and turned out to be soggy and little nibblets She informed us that it had just recently changed owners They” were” our favorite place to eat but not anymore When you have something that is great and and your very busy Don’t change things«your loss«. Word of mouth spreads quickly

I’ve been coming to Hot Wok since it first opened, and have never been disappointed. It’s good both in the restaurant and to-go. You order at the counter like a Pei Wei, but the prices are a lot lower. I usually get the pad thai. It’s not the amazing version you’d find at Char’s or Sa-ing. But it’s pretty good, it comes with pork and shrimp, and it’s cheaper than any of the other pad thai in town. And for a $ 7 dish, the shrimp is surprisingly bountiful and well-prepared.

I was overwhelmed by their menu plastered on the wall. Holy Moly do they have a lot to offer! Appetizers, Noodles, Soups, Poultry, Beef.etc. I was hoping one of the employees saw me struggling to choose an item so I can get a suggestion but no one came to my rescue. Oh well… I went with Chicken Teriyaki and Pad Thai. The chicken was a big portion, but it was mostly dark meat which made it scary for my 5 year old to try :(It was alright though. Then, when they gave me my Pad Thai… only then, they tell me that it’s spicy and shouldn’t share with my small children. Huh?! I wish she would have told me this while I was ordering. It was good though! FYI: It wasn’t spicy! Mmm.I’m not so sure about this place yet. I think, I’ll come back to give them another try…
