My dad can’t stop talking about this place and the seafood soup. Finally I’m with him in the neighborhood and I join him. Had the most expensive soup($ 450). It was outstanding. In fact I was thinking about it later that night and how much I wanted to go back again already. I also had some seafood taco. Shrimp, manta, octopus amazing. 10 different hot sauces on the table. Fresh lime and the best corn tortillas I’ve ever had. I will be back many times.

Finally successfully made it back to Mariscos Topete’s Seafood. Toritos de Camaron [$ 8], — Comes in six pieces. Grilled shrimp stuffed in pepper, covered in lemony soy sauce. This dish is served with crackers. Incredibly tasty, it will be hard not to order this dish next time. Shrimp Taco [$ 3] — Deep-fried shrimp in flour tortilla served with diced tomatoes, lettuce, and sliced onions — PERFECTION. Fish Taco [$ 2.50] — Like shrimp taco but with deep-fried fish. In my opinion, shrimp taco unquestionably blew fish taco away. Fish Quesadilla [$ 3] — This dish was a surprised disappointment. The portion was a little small. It is definitely not a full-size quesadilla. They use taco tortilla folded in half, filled the middle with fish and cheese. Like the previous visit, the food remained scrumptious. The staff was extremely helpful, even though there was certainly a communication barrier. One thing that could easily ruin your meal is don’t go on a windy day. The foam plates kept getting blown away, thankfully not in my face, and it was most certainly hard to enjoy a meal. Also, for those who plan to visit, they are open everyday 9AM — 5PM. Unlike most food trucks, Mariscos Topete’s accepts credit cards.

The short story: food is all right, service is far from it. I got the Gobernador, which is minced shrimp in a quesadilla. It’s good but small and feels even smaller at 3 dollars each. The bicki/vichi drink was delicious and our favorite part of the meal. It’s served in a small glass(basically a extra-large shot glass) and is a tomato-ey broth with(unidentified) seafood bits. Not the most appetizing description but this stuff is good. My boyfriend had 2 shrimp tacos and a manta(stingray) taco. The tortillas for these were not only cold(coldest tortillas I’ve ever been served) but they were old. They were crumbling and seemed like they were out in the open for a while. Why?! The seafood in the actual tacos was just all right. The house salsa did not make the food better as it was super runny(lots of water) and bland. As for service, when we arrived, we were looking around, semi-confused, since we did not know whether to order at the window or to sit at the tables and wait for menus. There was a lady at a table just staring at us and then stood up and went inside the cart without a word. She was an employee! And yet did not even bother to let us know what was up with the seating arrangement. And, when we ordered, I asked the waitress what«manta» was. She turned to my boyfriend and gave him an «are you kidding me?» look. Yeah, lady, you’re not gonna get any support from my bf. Bad service and food is just all right. I’ll be back if and only if Mariscos Chihuahua ever closes.

Awesome food cart. Ate outside in December and although a bit chilly, I was kept warm with the hot seafood soup. Definitely recommend the pepper stuffed with shrimp. It is like a less greasy Chinese dish. Would definitely go back again to try different things.

«There is nothing to fear except fear itself.» That and shady food trucks/tents in Tucson, right? I saw a crowd of people at Topete’s, and I sat down. I was served this amazing salsa in a squeeze bottle — I asked what was in it because it was so good. Of course, tomatoes, chili, garlic, and cilantro. But yet, there was something unique about it. I was given a menu in English, and I ordered the fish taco and breaded shrimp taco. They did not have ceviche. Boo. I got my order fairly quickly, and WOW, the fish taco was amazing. It reminded me of Rubio’s except 130% better. I loved it. I did not even need any extra hot sauce because it was so delicious. The breaded shrimp(shaka) taco was good too. It looked like the breaded fish and almost as good. As I was sitting down, I noticed other people drinking these drinks that looked like Clamato with pieces of octopus in it. Also, there was a stone bowl that had chili, fruit, and tons of fresh seafood in it. I would say that tacos were equally as popular in selection as the mixed seafood. My total order was $ 7, and I had my order taken and ate my food within 10 minutes. It took about 30 minutes to get my check, but I was busy staring at other people’s food anyway and sipping my Mexican Coca-Cola. I kept seeing signs for«bichi» and I’m pretty sure it’s the vichy drink — it looks like V8 with swirly seafood in it. What are some other random things they say they offer? Dorado — dolphin(I really hoped not, but maynard assured me that dorado is a dolphin-safe fish and I think maybe it’s mahi-mahi — thanks maynard!) Filete light — light fillets? Agsajos — Mexican hot chocolate Pulpo — octopus Definitely order the tacos. If you don’t like fried foods, order the tacos gobernador(shrimp fajita like tacos), the campechana(seafood cocktail), molcajete coctail, and the cahuamanta(soup). You will also get a side of saladitas(Mexican saltines). Have fun!

As I was sitting down to this quaint taco stand, I asked myself«is it safe to drink the water?» Yes, this is definitely a legitimate Mexican seafood stand. We had the crab(very crabby), fish and shrimp(2 kinds) tacos. They are simple yet savory. Definitely go check this out!

If you are a fan of Mexican seafood like i am then you should definitely give this place a shot. It’s a truck that parks next to the car wash, and kind of hard to find at first. Prices are reasonable and this place has some pretty exotic dishes like sting ray tacos or marlin tacos. Even the crab with cheese tacos were a long shot for me, however they were sooooo goood!

I saw these bomb reviews here, and had to try this joint on my first stay in Tucson. I Googled it, and followed the directions to the letter. I passed it 3 times, before I realized IT’S A DAMNCATERINGTRUCK! For real, y’all. .. couldn’t throw that teensy little detail into your review, huh? Dining inside or outside? If you choose inside, order to go, ’cause you’ll be grubbin’ INSIDEYOURCAR, AT107DEGREES. Just past where the awning of a catering truck would be, is a mesh-covered patio of tables and chairs, cleaned and maintained infrequently by the servers. Luckily, the table I chose had a wet towel sitting there, so I wiped the sucka down myself. ?Habla espanol? I was asked by my server.(Sorry, can’t get a tilde or an upside-down question mark here.) Un poquito, I replied. Y yo leyo menos, I thought to myself. I looked for a «Taco Shaka» — the fried shrimp that Karla D talked about — on the menu, and couldn’t find it. The menu is written entirely en espanol. I did the best I could. I asked for tacos con camarones. She asked, ?que tipo? Crap. .. I was in trouble. I just looked down, pointed and asked for 2 of whatever my finger landed on. I got an almost-room-temp bottled coke, to accompany 2 large tacos that had sauteed shrimp and stewed fish in them. They were adequate. Needed just a pinch of salt and a lot of salsa. It was cool, it just wasn’t what I wanted. The two tacos, a bucket of chips and salsa, and the bottle of coke set me back $ 7.25. If I ever go back to Tucson(of my own free will, unlikely), I’ll hit that again. But I will study up first. If english is your only language, skip Topete’s; you’ll just embarrass yourself.

Mariscos Topete’s seafood restaurant makes tasty seafood cooked in a delicious Mexican style. I try to go at least once every weekend and their reasonable prices make it possible to enjoy Mariscos Topete’s. After drinking the night before, I recommend to start with a delicious«Bichi»(seafood broth) which will boost your energy, then a tasty«Toritos de Marlin»(Marlin stuffed yellow peppers) and to finish a yummy«Taco Shaka»(fried Shrimp taco). I like everything they serve including their tortilla chips and salsa. I love Mariscos Topete’s because the seafood it is always fresh and tastes very good. If you have been to Mariscos Chihuahua, try Mariscos Topete’s and you will never want to go back to Mariscos Chihuahua.

This roadside staple eatery is just north of the intersection of Miracle Mile and Oracle, south of Metro Car Wash. Mariscos Topete’s seafood restaurant makes delicious seafood cooked Mexican style. This has been my weekly oasis retreat for the past six months. I have to go at least once every weekend and their reasonable prices make it possible to enjoy the variety of appetizers, tacos, soups, cocktails and main courses. After drinking the night before or just waking up with low energy, I recommend to start with a delicious«Bichi»(seafood broth) which will boost your energy, then a tasty«Toritos de Marlin»(Marlin stuffed yellow peppers) and to finish a yummy«Taco Emperador»(crab and cheese). I enjoy everything they serve including their tortilla chips and salsa. We’re in the desert and desert people don’t trust seafood here. Believe me, Topete’s is fresh and tastes very good. Special requests are welcome! GO!
