Peter Piper Pizza

We have visited this Peter Piper for ten years now… the age of my oldest daughter. It’s sort of a tradition to celebrate birthdays here and we have every year.
Yeah it’s noisy and kinda ghetto but the pizza is cheap and they have beer! The kids love the rides and games and always come home with a bunch of plastic toy crap from the tickets they manage to acquire using what seems to them an *endless* supply of Daddy’s dollars.
They will add party balloons and a table cover for you or you can bring your own. Drinks are cheap. Beer glasses each require a valid ID so don’t think you can sip from your buddy’s cup. Well, actually, I guess you can but you get the point ;)

I came in with my nieces to have dinner. I was greeted by the manager and an employee. I just ordered a pizza for my niece and they took care of the tab in the holiday spirit! I know it was a small gesture of kindness but it made our experience positive. I have also come for birthday parties and the only complaint is some of the games are down. We came on a Wednesday night and it crowded at all.

Worst location in town! Manager and staff are rude and not friendly at all! Manager refused to honor the good grade initiative and the pizza/​wings SUCK! Definitely not the same quality as all other locations! Games eat tokens and manager refuses to give tokens back! NEVER AGAIN!

I went to a birthday party here for a 1 year old. Pizza was decent enough. Staff was fairly courteous. It was really crowded. Lots of parties at the same time. But I was mostly turned off by the condition of the restrooms. The mens was filthy and I heard the woman’s was worse. Not just the restrooms but the area around the games wasn’t in good shape either. But I guess kids really don’t care. They might have been short staffed but somebody need to get in there and clean them restrooms right away.

I attended a birthday party at your Tucson Broadway location today that began at 2:30. The party hosts weren’t aware that their time slot was from 2:30 to 4:15 and apparently your staff wasn’t aware either. I didn’t arrive at the party until 3:30 and the pizza, hot wings and drinks for 2 tables full of people didn’t start coming out until at least 10 or 15 minutes after I got there. So I was shocked when the server handed one of the hosts a receipt and advised that they needed to settle the bill and vacate the tables so that they could prepare for another party. I thought to myself, even if there was a misunderstanding about the time when the reservation was made by phone, there was still ample opportunity to get this party back on track. Shouldn’t the server have noticed that this party was over an hour into their time slot before food was served? Didn’t they notice the giant unopened cake box or the presents sprawled everywhere? What about the fact that they took ice cream back to the freezer, but never brought it back out for the Happy Birthday celebration? All of these were clues that the host either forgot about their time slot, they were never made aware of their time slot, or at the very least they were moving at a pace that meant they would go over their time slot. Resolving this misunderstanding would have been as easy as pulling the host aside and saying, «Your food won’t be out until about 30 minutes before your time slot ends. Because we have 46 parties booked, we are unable to extend your time slot. However, we can bring out your ice cream now, as I have found that cake and ice cream is a great way to gather the kids. You can sing Happy Birthday and open presents, and by the time you are done the pizza and wings should be out. You will have 30 minutes or so to eat before it’s time to clear the tables. And, for those guests that decide to stick around, they can look for any empty booth or table not reserved for partiers or I’ve found that after the party is a great time for kids and parents to enjoy the arcade area». And just like that, everything is back on track. Instead, the entire situation got completely out of control. To make matters worse, Pat, the general manager escalated the situation by having a complete breakdown. It was the worst display of management I have ever seen in my life. He yelled, he screamed and he got aggressively confrontational with paying customers — and he did it in front of other customers. What’s really scary is not what happened, but what could have happened. This group walked away. They walked away with unused tokens, paid for undelivered food, to go boxes with food in them and they even left their ice cream. The next group might not just walk away. That situation could have turned volatile, putting employees, customers and countless children in grave danger. De-​escalating a situation is a basic management skill that Pat has no grasp of. He either needs to be re-​trained or terminated, because as long as he is the leader of the team at that location, you have a violent scene just waiting to happen.

For some time now my family has enjoyed the lunch buffet, especially our weekly visits over summer break and on half days from school. Recently there’s been a decline in the thoughtful, friendly & helpful customer service at the registers & in the buffet line. Employees aren’t smiling anymore, muchless going out of their way to be helpful like they used to be. An employee used to stand behind the buffet to offer help reaching pizza that was too far back for anyone to get to and so no one burned themselves. Not anymore. Our last visit was almost our last one forever. My 8 yr old & I went to get cinnamon dessert pizza from the buffet but there wasn’t any. I asked if more was coming out and was told it would be out in 6 min. 6 min later we got into the buffet line. Dessert pizza was brought out. Just as the employee turned her back, a bunch of younger &older teenage boys cut in front of the line and literally took every piece of the dessert. I thought my child was going to cry. The manager & a few other employees were around but ignoring the buffet. The manager was even facing us & not too far away to notice but was busy plating pizzas, I think. A few adults in line said something to the boys but were ignored. After what seemed like too long for an employee to notice us calling out, «Excuse me», an employee finally heard us & looked over to the manager. The manager said that was all the dessert pizza he had & wasn’t able to make anymore. No apology or concern came from him. My family walked back to our table & readied to leave. A few min later a kind fellow customer came to our table to inform us he’d talked to the manager who agreed to make more dessert pizza. What? The manager had just said there wasn’t any more to make. An upset-​looking employee did bring us a smaller dessert pizza and all but threw it down on our table. We expressed thanks to her, but she kept on walking. My family wants to give this place one more try during our spring break next week. I don’t. I do not appreciate a place of business which does not exhibit honesty nor show concern or appreciation for its customers. A fellow customer should not be doing the manager’s job of communicating to other customers. Maybe we’ll try the PPP that’s closer to our house instead of driving all the way to this one.

Went there today for the lunch buffet today and couldn’t be more pleased. Super clean and really good pizza and salad. The games and game staff were just as good, the young man operating the roller coaster ride was very professional and my son had a blast on it. The young lady operating the prize booth was just as good and very nice to my son too. We will be definitely be coming back this Peter Piper is rockin!

With not very many places around town to host a children’s birthday party Peter piper pizza tops the list for most people, this location in particular is constantly busy, located centrally in town, and one of the very few locations that offers a carnival ride indoors, it’s a fun place for children of all ages has a little play area; for younger children but it could stand a better cleaning. As far as pizza goes it’s wonderful when it’s piping hot, and being that this place is so busy they do get the pizzas up fairly quickly, only downside is the parking it is hectic trying to find a place to park, be prepared to either park in the Savers parking lot or in the dark in the back of the building near the dumpsters, other than that it’s not the Dave and busters but it is fun for all children and adults. I’m sure I’ll be visiting again soon.

Excellent pizza, salads and all! Yes, its jam packed full of screaming happy children! That’s good! There is an area away from the bustle of all the kids though. Wonderful managers too! Always working to ensure a good visit! We go here about once a week. The buffet is wonderful and inexpensive! Thumbs up!!!

Is it fair to review a business based on the clientele? How about choice of locale? Probably not. C’est la vie. I guess I’ve got nothing then.

while the pizza is good tasting, the place itself is a different story. I’m not sure if it’s just way overcrowded when we went here or it’s the norm. My son somewhat didn’t really get to enjoy this place because it’s way packed and there’s not really enough games/​arcades to go around. The coin machine only takes cash, so i wasn’t able to purchase additional tokens that day, Bummer! We might just come back here whenever it starts to settle down a little, but i don’t know when will that be.

I have no PPP aged kids anymore, so I won’t speak to the games or frivolity that goes on in this place so huge that it should have it’s own zip code.
Sheer curiosity about the lunch buffet brought me here. Maybe it’s just me but Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pretty Pathetic Pizzas to Provide People… at least in the buffet.
I don’t care if it’s less than six bucks for the buffet. not going back.

Husband and I came here for a birthday party on a Saturday. It was crowded and very NOISY. But then again, I really hope you don’t expect a quiet ambiance when going to Peter Piper. The pizza was actually pretty good. I admit, I was starving so I could be somewhat jaded. But, for the sake of the review, the pizza had a nice crust and tasted freshly made. The kids had a fun time playing games and the adults just sat at the table and talked.
At the end of the night, we got on their merry go round type ride and it was actually a lot of fun! I was surprised but it put everyone in a good mood and it was like we were kids again.

I promised a review when we tried the pizza, so here it is. I was very surprised at how good the pizza was. I expected a horrid mess resembling pizza, but it was actually very good! Husband and I got their supreme/​deluxe. Fresh red onion (my favorite on pizza), actually all fresh veggies, and great meats. My daughters’ half cheese half bacon was well received and loved. Husband and I also enjoyed an ice cold picture of Dos Equis amber. The employees were all smiling, friendly and looked like they actually enjoyed their jobs! After, we enjoyed the games as usual! This is a great place for families, food and a good time in one.

MMMM this is my fave pizza!

When I set out to review this new (er) Peter Piper, what immediately came to mind was that scene in Oceans 11, where Danny and Rusty went to go ask Reuben for money…
If you’re gonna go to this Peter Piper, you’d better (er, gosh darn?) KNOW. This sorta thing used to be civilized, you’d play a few games, get a few tickets, eat some pizza, done. But with this location… at the end of this, you’re gonna get trampled. You’re going to have a hard time finding a place to sit. You’re going to have to say «excuse me» a million times as you attempt to not step on other people’s children while you chase after yours.
You should know what you’re getting yourself into. Especially if you’re going on a weekend, especially especially on a weekend evening.
It’s HUGE, probably part of the draw from all over town. There’s a full sized carousel and one of those rides where you go in a circle in a wave (Himalaya something?). Both are free, and are great (well I can only comment on the carousel, my kid is too young for the other one).
Food is cheap, and it tastes better than it needs to for that price. Beer – $ 12 for a pitcher, HOLLA. And trust me, you’re going to need a few pitchers to handle the chaos.
Peter Piper is doing everything right as far as price point, games, size. The lower rank (perhaps unfairly, although I do think there is more than can be done to do crowd and chaos control), is for atmosphere – especially during these busy times. It’s almost like they need to employ hall monitors («no running!» «no trampling!» «he had that game first!») for all the unruly children that are left unsupervised by the parents enjoying the $ 12 pitchers.
This is a great place to go if you’d like to let your kid run and play, and he’s comfortable wearing a helmet and knee pads in public. Otherwise, may I suggest a Tuesday night… or even better, the PP on Soldiers Trail. It’s about ¼th of the size, has no where NEAR the number of games (and no slides/​playground area, like the Broadway one… so if that’s important to you, something to consider), but it’s also significantly less busy. Definitely a cost-​benefit analysis!

This place is the shizznitzzz. Wish I was always 10. Pizza is not the best but decently priced for what you get. And the games are awesome. Its huge so they having lots of seating for birthday parties or casual diners. I love coming here for my nieces and nephews bday. Lots of games for the little one plus they have a small roller coaster and a merry-​go-​round! The big prize selection isnt so great but I love the small toy gadgets. Like the ones I use to get when I was little. If I was still 10, I would want my bday parties here all the time.

It’s an instant pizza party! Not the best pizza ever, but not as bad as i thought. We normally get a medium thick crust and they accommodate any number of pre-​schooler driven topping requests. Best thing about the menu? A beer selection on tap, which makes collecting endless strips of tickets a bit more tolerable. Wings and family size salads flush the offerings out enough to make it enjoyable for everyone in the family.
But the food isn’t why you come here. It’s the atmosphere of being at a party. Even if it isn’t your party (which we never have had a big party of our own here), the kids think they are at a party. It makes it a great way to have a small birthday seem a bit more special, or to do for some other special celebration.
This location on Broadway is HUGE, though. And if you are going to leave your table to play games, make sure to leave signs that you are coming back, as unattended tables can either be bussed or possibly pilfered. I foolishly left my sunglasses on our table on one visit and they were missing when we returned. I told the manager and he offered a free pizza coupon, so props to management for smoothing over a case of customer blindness.

My initial take was that Peter Piper was perfect because it was basically Chuck E Cheese, but with better pizza and beer. However, Peter is considerably more expensive than Chuck E. Cheese. Peter Piper also appears to be geared toward older kids. Despite the higher price (especially for tokens), the prizes to be claimed for tickets were the same crappy prizes that Chuck E. Cheese offers — what a shame.
Finally, their security is notable mainly due to its absence. Peter Piper doesn’t stamp, wristband, or otherwise identify your kids as yours; meaning that anyone could walk out the door with your child. A deal-​breaker for me and my two girls.
