Good food and I like that they make their own salad dressings. Good variety of food. I would return here!

Their food is great. the chicken cheesesteak and the fries. Most of the people who work here are nice too. except the old guy who works the register. Kind of grumpy. But overall it’s worth it for the cheesesteaks and fries.

Cruzin Speedway held its annual reunion tonight in the parking lot in front of this restaurant and we absolutely slammed them with business. They totally rose to the challenge. Food was great, speed was certainly good based upon the crowd, and nary a cross word was heard from staff or customers. Good job!

First things first, friendly service and nice clean place, ok let’s get to it, we had original Philly cheese steak with everything, and a jalapeño and chicken cheesesteak with everything and fried zucchini, jalapeño and chicken cheesesteak was on the hook(that means it was real good) and the original cheese steaks were great too this was my first time at Philly’s finest and I will be returning, possibly tomorrow.

We were excited to realize that this place delivered to our business. My coworkers and I ordered lunch. One of the sandwhiches had a huge, red hair wrapped in it. Usually we’re not ones to complain or ask for things for free(we work for a small business and know how that goes), but we did want to let the manager know. She demanded to see the sandwhich and offered a $ 3 credit and another sandwhich. The girl who ordered the sandwhich waited around but finally had to go home for the day. Finally, around 3:30, someone came to pick up the sandwhich but didn’t leave another. When we called back to see what had happened the next day, the manager was very rude and not accomidating at all. She responded with«well, are you gonna order food, or not?» We really feel disappointed in this place. Horrible customer service. Will not be reordering again.

I’ve been coming here for years and always had great service and food. The original cheesesteak is good size and I never leave hungry. My wife always gets the chicken cheesesteak and she loves it

I’ve tried the original Philly, and the chicken jalapeño(both I’ve ordered with double meats), and both have been really good, tender, juicy, and they don’t over do the cheese. Service is good, and the place has a nice quiet feel. Definitely a fan.

My friends and I needed a quick bite to eat before going to a movie on that side of town, so Philly’s Finest was where we stopped. As others have pointed out, the parking lot is small and the layout of the store is really unusual. Paul C’s review is spot on about the layout and the kind of service you get here is not great at all.(Excuse me, where are the napkins?) Decent sandwich though. I really like their roll they use. Their peppers are not all that hot, they stuff them full of meat though and that is good. I wish the sandwich was ever so slightly bigger. Oh and a chocolate chip cookie comes with it. Let’s make that bigger too. Not because it is the best cookie ever, but because I have a sweet tooth ALWAYS! If you want to try it, do, but I think there are probably better options nearby.

Philly’s Finest was on the list of «places within a mile of work that I keep meaning to try,» and it was on there for a long time. Part of the reason is, as some reviews point out, the parking lot is small and sometimes unforgiving(this was not an issue for me today). But it’s largely because there are so many good lunch places near here. The layout of the store is a little unusual: you walk to the back to order at the counter, and can’t see the actual menu until you reach the counter(there is a names-only menu written in chalk above the counter; there was also a menu posted on the front window but I’m not one to stand out in the sun reading). They bring your food to your table when it’s ready, but they don’t bring napkins. The only visible napkin dispenser was at the end of the counter, and empty. I was very greasy by the time I left. The woman who took my order and made my drink used the drink cup as its own ice scoop; this is a health code violation. It made me wonder what else they get away with. The original cheesesteak was pretty decent. It was difficult to eat because it kept spilling ingredients out of the EXTREMELY delicious chewy roll, and I could see no place to get a fork(like napkins, cutlery seems to be rare here). The sandwich was large, and filling. But it didn’t have any kind of flavor that knocked my socks off. Like the«hot» peppers on it, I found the sandwich quite tame. The sandwich also came with a small cookie, as noted in many other reviews. I left it on the table untouched; it seemed hard and pre-made, rather than fresh, and I’m not a huge fan of cookies. I would rather see them lower the price and stop wasting food by including things people didn’t order. There was nothing wrong with the food, per se. I think it’s worth 4 stars. But the lack of napkins, the mishandled ice, and the overall experience put this place in the 2– to 3-star range. I rounded up in appreciation for the food, but I won’t be back here. There are too many better choices for lunch nearby.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I have to say, the service was extremely nice, and that is important to me. The food was great. I had the regular Philly Cheese Steak with fries, which tasted amazing. They even give you a free cookie with your meal! Something I didn’t even ask for, something sweet to go with my food. It was very great. What’s wrong with freshly baked cookies? Nothing! The place was clean and had such a rich history on its walls. It was nice to see some of that when entering in.

Amazing lunch! Just had the cheesesteak and it is to die for! The bread was light which I really liked because I was able to actually finish the entire sub! My grandmother got the egg salad sandwich which was good as well. Service was great as well.

Its alright. I was doing an animal adoption even right next door at Mostly Books so I decided to come here for lunch. I got the Italian Grinder and its pretty basic stuff, the bread is store bought, the deli meat is average, and you get chips, drink, and a cookie with the meal. Its good for a quick cheap sandwich but I’ve had better.

The dining experience is average there. You go to the counter to order your food and they bring it to your table. I really enjoy their regular beef cheesesteak. I get everything on it except tomatoes. If you get the meal, you get the sandwich, your choice of cole slaw, French fries, or potato chips, a small drink, and a chocolate chip cookie for a little over $ 9. It’s definitely worth it.

This review is for their delivery and food, as I did not go into the restaurant. Today for lunch, I ordered the veggie sandwich on 13 grain bread and a side of mozzarella sticks(bad, I know). The sandwich itself was very filling, however, it’s kind of bland. The bread was excellent. In speaking of excellent, the mozzarella sticks were out of this world! OMG, they were delicious. Man, o’ man. They also gave me a complimentary cookie as well. The cookie was average. As for the delivery, they are usually pretty quick. They quoted me 45 minutes, but I had my food within 30. Give these guys a try. :)

First impression walking in was that this is a pleasant, roomy restaurant. Large booths, spacious floor space, and the order counter was not in the way of anything. Good utilization of space. And there definitely was a good lunch crowd, so they have their fans. I had the #‘1 Combo which is their beef Philly and choice of side with a small drink. Around nine bucks. I chose the slaw. Really good sandwich. So far, the most enjoyable Philly that I’ve had in Tucson. The other Philly’s that I’ve had seemed to be overwhelming in some aspect that I can’t put my finger on. This one had the right ratio of bun, meat, and dressings to give me that«yummy» experience. To describe the slaw, I would say it is vinegary with some sweet in there, I think from pineapple, but I’m not sure. It was OK, not outstanding, but was a good, fresh taste.

I think Rob C. was grumpy when he wrote his review of Philly’s Finest. I visited after shopping at Bookman’s(who cares if the parking lot is full… A little walking is good for you!) and I was pleasantly surprised! It looks like a dive on the outside, but it’s beautiful inside. The staff was friendly, which is a sure way to guarantee my repeat business. But the real hook is the food! There are no servers — you order at the counter, then have a seat. I ordered the traditional cheesesteak with all the trimmings that they offer. While it’s not the traditional cheesesteak I love to enjoy while I’m in Philly(With, Whiz, please — and a little hot sauce!) I really enjoyed their take on the sandwich. Peppers, onions, pickle, tomato, and white American cheese on top of perfectly prepared, thin sliced steak. And yes, you are treated to a cookie. Yum. I have no complaints! I will definitely be back here! I’m really glad I gave this place a shot instead of always heading to Beyond Bread(which always leaves me disappointed) after a shopping trip at Bookman’s.

I am a big fan of cheesesteaks, so once I saw this place, I knew I had to give it a whirl. I frequent Frankie’s on Campbell when I’m in the area and it is what I benchmark this one against. Definitely not disappointed! Their cheesesteak is just as good as Frankie’s, but what gives this place the edge are a few things: #1. The Chicken Cheesesteak! The hubby and I agreed to order one chicken and one traditional cheesesteak and then split them. Initially, I was a little apprehensive that I was gonna regret it, but that ended up being my favorite! #2. The crinkle cut fries are better than Frankie’s. #3. They completely won me over with the surprise fresh baked chocolate chip cookie underneath my fries! I felt like a kid with a happy meal treat or cereal box toy bonus! Completely unexpected, and a perfect way to end a delicious meal! I’m so glad to have found this place and will definitely be returning to this underrated gem!

I occasionally enjoy a cheesesteak, and Frankie’s on Campbell is the place I usually go in Tucson. But I found myself at Philly’s Finest, and thought it was worth a try based on the name alone. The parking is horrible, especially on weekends. Bookman’s seems to be a big draw, and the parking lot can be completely packed. When I found a spot to park in the packed parking lot on a Saturday at 12:15PM, and I expected the place to be packed. But I walked into Philly’s Finest to find that there were only a few people inside, I should have known it might not be good. With that many people, so nearby, at lunchtime, and hardly anyone eating there, it raised a red flag. When I walked in, it seemed to be a strange floor plan, more like I’d entered a tunnel or a cave than a restaurant. And in that theme, it seems to function very well at blocking my phone signal. I had weak to no reception while inside. The first words the staff says when you order a cheesesteak are usually a good indication of if it’s going to be good or not. If they say anything other than asking if you want provolone or wiz, and if you want it with onions or not, it’s usually a bad sign. So, with that in mind, when I asked for a cheesesteak and the staff said«with everything?» I suspected it wasn’t going to be good. It’s a cheesesteak, not a hoagie or a sub, there is no «everything» option for a cheesesteak. That’s the second red flag. But I tried it anyway. I ordered a cheesesteak(yes, with just cheese, not«everything» because I wanted a cheesesteak, not a hoagie or sub), fries, and a drink. I’ll start with the drink. They are fountain drinks, but no refill station. The staff pours them for you. I had a large Dr. Pepper, and when I got it it just felt odd. Then, I realized after my first sip, it was because the entire cup was completely packed tight with crushed ice. Not even ice cubes, crushed ice, and packed tight. So, after about 3 sips, long before my food came, it was empty. It wasn’t a drink with ice. It was ice, with maybe maybe 2 shot glasses of Dr. Pepper poured over it. The cheesesteak came in a small basket, but the cheesesteak was fairly decent size, unwrapped and sitting on paper. The french-fries were in a small bag, on top of the cheesesteak, with the paper already saturated and covered with the cheese from the cheesesteak melted all over it. Total fail on presentation. I don’t expect something fancy with a cheesesteak, but I would prefer not to have my fries bag melted into the cheesesteak, and not have everything stacked on top of each other. The cheesesteak and fries were above average. They weren’t as good as Frankie’s, but at least it tasted like a cheesesteak was suppose to taste. Oh, yea, and there was a cookie that I didn’t order. I don’t totally object to being given stuff for free, but I didn’t understand. I went to get a cheesesteak because I was craving something savory, and then presented something sweet? I suppose it was a nice thought, but it was the opposite of what I was in the mood for, so it ended up in the trash untouched. I have to just give this a 3 star, average rating, mostly based on the food. If I let the other issues like parking, the drink packed with ice, the presentation, and the interior phone shielding influence the score, I’d probably have to give it a 2.
