Dr. Robert Snyder and Dr. Pamela Theriot are committed to providing exceptional eye care for our patients at our Tucson, as well as our Green Valley locations. Cataract and LASIK Refractive Surgery are our specialties.

Robert Snyder, MD, PhD, PC is a board-​certified ophthalmologist and fellowship trained eye surgeon. He specializes in small incision, no stitch cataract surgery, and LASIK refractive surgery.

Since 1998, Dr. Snyder has been recognized as one of the «Best Doctors in America» and one of the «Best Docs» in Tucson. He has received many awards for the prevention of eye disease, including the Lion’s distinguished «Humanitarian of the Year» award. His research has been funded by the NIH. He has published over 75 articles and has 2 patents for ophthalmic devices. He is currently a tenured Professor at the University of Arizona, where he served as the Chairman of the Dept of Ophthalmology for 14 years.

Dr Snyder is my Doctor. He has done 2 Corneal transplants on my one eye. I have a very rare eye disease and he has treated me for almost 20 years. He was chief at UMC Ophthalmology, then went into private practice. He is known for being the finest in his field. He is a brilliant doctor and a very kind human being. I give him a 5 star because he is the Best Treatment for your eyes around.
I have seen Mega Rock Stars in his waiting area that have flown in to see him after closing hours. What does that say?

Dr. Snyder was recommended to me by my optometrist, a business acquaintance. Because of the cataracts, my right eye could not be corrected with glasses and I needed to get my driver’s license renewed in December. I saw Dr. Snyder on Oct. 29th and he was very prompt in getting the two surgeries scheduled for the first two weeks of November. He was very pleasant and cheerful and confident he could get it done in time. I had a total of six appointments and the two surgeries. Dr. Snyder was a joy! Immediately after the first procedure, I could see 20⁄20 with my right eye! I was reading street signs and license plates all the way home. The left eye was done the next week. I now only need glasses for reading. I have worn glasses since I was twelve — I am now 70! What a fantastic experience. Dr. Snyder is my hero!

I had the PRK laser vision correction on 9−2−15, and I am amazed at the results! I am able to read the bottom line on the vision chart. I now have 20⁄20 vision in my right eye, and 20⁄15 in my left eye. I’d like to thank Katie for sharing her experience with me about her results, as it was one of the deciding factors for getting it done with Dr. Snyder. I’d also like to thank the other reviewers on here for their stories, as I knew from reading your testimonials that this was the right place for me to get my vision corrected. Dr built tremendous confidence with me about the procedure, and realistic expectations on recovery. He also told me I would see better than I ever have without glasses. My eyes don’t get fatigued like they did looking through the scratched lens of my glasses, and I would strongly recommend this procedure. It is the BEST money I’ve ever spent! Thank You — Bryan

I was a patient of Dr. Snyder’s in early January for custom LASIK surgery and can attest to his and his staff’s attention to detail, professionalism, and the overall good-​natured atmosphere of the office. My results were better than expected and Dr. Snyder went the extra mile to ensure my eyes had no complications from an automobile accident I was in a few weeks after surgery.
The only sensible choice in Tucson for these types of procedures!

Had Lasek done here some years ago. It is a little more expensive than the Lasik, but there is no healing of the flap to worry about. I couldn’t believe it was painless. The procedure was so quick and being able to see 20⁄10 immediately afterwards? Priceless! To this day, my eyes are still doing great. Dr Snyder and the rest of the staff are absolutely wonderful! Highly recommended!

Finding a doc you can trust with your peepers is no easy task. It turns out my parents eye woes worked in my best interest. When I discovered a foreign bump on my eye and freaked out I was quickly comforted by the fact that I knew who to go to! While it was scary to have fire red eyes and a strange bump on my eye, it was no ocular emergency worthy of waiting in an ER, so I called in and thanks to the lovely reception staff, they squeezed me in for an appointment with Dr. Hunter. I had called in to see Dr. Snyder, but seeing that my phone call was returned right away, I was «triaged» over the phone and was scheduled the next day, I knew I would be in good hands. Please note, the only reason I called in for Dr. Snyder was because both of my parents are patients of his and that’s the only good Ophthalmologist I knew of. Both, Dr. Snyder and Dr. Hunter are professional and thorough, I would know, I saw them both! On my first visit, I saw Dr. Hunter and I had my follow up with Dr. Snyder. I enjoyed my visit with both and we covered all my ailments. While my «dry eye syndrome» might be their bread and butter type of case, they didn’t make me feel that way. All of my questions were answered thoroughly on both visits. I highly recommend both Dr. Snyder and Hunter as they provide exceptional eye care. They also specialize in Cataract and Laser Surgery and have an excellent reputation.

I did a lot of waiting and research before choosing Dr. Snyder’s office. He had come highly recommended by a friend but I wanted to make sure. My first meeting with them was very educational and they took a lot more time explaining my options with me than the other two doctors I had consulted with. They were very friendly and did not try to «sell» me on any kind of procedure.
After choosing to go with them I scheduled my surgery and they did the rest! The process was very smooth and they assured me every step of the way.
It has now been almost a year since I had the procedure completed and my vision is better than 20⁄20! I cannot believe I waited so long to get the Lasik Eye Surgery completed. Laser eye surgery was something that I had always wanted to do but was too nervous to let anybody mess with them.
Dr. Robert Snyder was the best choice I could have ever made!!! Thank you Dr. Snyder and your entire team.
