Salon Nouveau

A thousand thanks to Victor for making my wildest of hair fantasies come true. We had to meet up for two consultations because my hair is dark and I wanted to have purple highlights done– he took a test strand to make sure that my hair would be able to tolerate the strength of bleach required for the application process. He had me booked for a 5:15 appointment (the shop closes at 8) but he stayed over two hours past closing time to ensure that I got the results I wanted. His work ethic is outstanding! I’ve made the unfortunate mistake of going to Toni & Guy once to have my hair done in a similar manner. The lady had me out the door in less than 2 hours and I saw hardly any change… Which was extremely disappointing because getting your hair done is not cheap! After this bad experience at a salon, I began experimenting on my own at home, which is why Victor was left with a hell of a mess (what was left of my hair), yet he was able to breathe new life in it. I will return whenever I can, he is an exceptional stylist in every sense!

I came here for a haircut with Katie… now, I hadn’t gotten my hair cut in over a year (and it showed). I sat down with Katie, asked her to make me look good but to keep it low-​maintenance, and goodness gracious did she deliver. By the time I left, not only did my hair look great, I was relaxed and had thoroughly enjoyed my entire time. Katie knows how to keep the conversation going and truly made me feel at home.
I cannot attest to the rest of the facilities, but the entire place was clean, relaxing, and friendly.
In short (teehee), I’ll make sure to get my hair cut more than once a year just so I can go back to this lovely little paradise.

I came in here for a facial. I have been getting black heads on my face and decided it was time to treat myself. I came in not knowing exactly what to expect. My facial was 45 minutes and it was so perfect. She also massaged my neck, shoulders, and face. It was really relaxing. Marcela was my aesthetician and she did an amazing job. I’ve gotten facials before, but this by far was my best experience. I will definitely be going back.
I also left with coupons and a chocolate bar. :)

I love Janice. She is so creative with nail art. She is friendly and courteous. Best place for sculptured acrylics!

I have been coming here for about three years and everything is top notch! Great products and services all around. I’ve had brazilians, eye brow waxes, pedicure, manicure, but most importantly… my hair! I see Victor because he did such an amazing job with my hair the first time two years ago. I get highlights and a cut, they look amazing from day one and grow out nicely… plus he gives styling consultations (crucial). Today was the fourth time I’ve been back to see him before I move out of Arizona, but I am going to fly him out to do my hair in New York City — he’s that good.

I see Katie at Salon Nouveau. I’ve lived in big cities… and I truly believe she’s the best hairstylist I’ve ever had! She’s fantastic at color (my hair has red in it so it’s very easy to either make it brassy orange or bleach it to platinum which always makes me anxious about trying out new stylists), giving cuts that are stylish plus grow out beautifully.
Personally, she’s also the friendliest and sweetest person, but HONEST which means she won’t steer you into something that wouldn’t be flattering on you.

Outstanding! I had an excellent facial with Lisa! She’s great. I was in town for vacation and picked this place based on reviews and it was hands down a great experience from checking in to checking out! I recommend this place to anyone. Hopefully the next time I am in town I can go back! Maybe for a facial and add a mani pedi!

I love this nail salon. I cannot say often enough just how great the salon is! I received a gift certificate from a friend back in 2008. I have been a happy client for many years. Rene’ is my nail technician. She does the best French on natural nails! Tracy is the only person I let take care of my hair! She is a true expert with color and styling! I won’t go anywhere else. One last shout out to FRAN! Top notch for sure! Great salon, great staff and superior products!

Hate to do this. I had high hopes for this salon. It’s on my way home from work and looks great inside and out.
I asked for a trim — and color — the trim was the equivalent of a bang trim and yet I was charged full pop. The color was a nightmare — it was garish, harsh and one dimensional, not the subtle highlights discussed. Total bill — a few hundred dollars to look worse than when I walked in.
I know they give new clients the new stylists and they often aren’t the best but to charge me a senior stylist’s rates and then not reduce the bill at all for the obvious disaster on my head was just classless.
Honestly, I would have returned had they not charged for the trim or taken a few dollars off the color — I wanted to like this place. I’m new to town and I need a salon. And it’s very nice inside — upscale, nicely decorated, relaxing. But now, I’d never go again.

I can’t say enough good things about Salon Nouveau, or at least my experience of them. I get my nails done by Rene every month or so, and she is amazing. I always end up with fabulous looking nails and, more important, she is completely dedicated to my health (I’m currently receiving chemo and my feet, hands and nails sometimes suffer because of it). She is also a lovely person who refers to my appointments as ‘visits’. She and the reception staff (all of whom are the essence of calm, friendly professionalism) always see to my comfort in every way.

What a wonderful experience. Place was clean, well lite and calm.
My eyebrows are so much better shaped then ever before. I’ ll be going back sooner then later.

My eyebrows look exactly like I wanted them to. On top of this, this was the least painful waxing experience I have ever had. Ever. When Caela started doing her thing, I was skeptical that hair was actually being removed. She has the most gentle technique I have encountered and because I’m such a baby when it comes to pain, I was completely sold.
My new go-​to waxing place.

I’ve only been here once, and it was to use a gift certificate from a friend for a mani/​pedi. The woman who helped me was very nice and thoughtful.
The décor and set up at this salon is very nice and comfortable.
After all compare to other places in town it might be a bit pricier than traditional nail salon but its worth it.
Prepare to be pampered… they really take time with each person so you wont feel like they are rushing while pampering you!

I have been going to Salon de Nouveau for years and have had only pleasant experiences for waxing with Alyssa. The other experiences not so much.
The haircuts — two of the worst hair cuts ever! The first time, they literally cut all of my hair off. I asked for short layers, but to keep the overall length. I wore glasses at the time (if you met me pre-​lasik, you know what my coke bottle bottoms looked like) and I could not see what the stylist was doing until she was like ok put your glasses on! Tada! I earned the nickname baldylocks. My shoulder length hair was not a pixie cut and there was nothing I could do about it. My hair grows really slow so this was an extremely traumatic experience.
The next time was three years later, I saw a more experienced stylist who was highly recommended and honestly she made me feel so uncomfortable. She was silent the entire time. No conversation, she tugged at my hair and I had a pounding headache by the time I left. It was terrible.
The mani/​pedi This was more of a cuticle push with polish. There was no trimming and the manicurist was just not pleasant. It was over priced for what I received. One time was more than enough.
Why did I keep going back? No, I’m not a masochist, I just couldn’t understand how a place that employed my beloved aesthetician could have some many employees who were just sub par.
Alyssa was this salons best kept secret– in a sense. She wasn’t a secret, but it was a pleasant surprise to any one I referred. Even those who had visiting the salon before, but never seen her for a service. She was always so nice, happy and eager to make you happy and your skin beautiful. She able to my tame my unsightly super thick, but sparse brows and make them pretty. I referred so many friends and family members to her and every single one of them was pleased. I recently called to make one of four random appointments per year and earned that she recently moved to M Salon.
I’m sorry, but she was the reason I kept coming back and tried other services. I must say that it is time bid Salon Nouveau adieu for services. They do, however, sell Bumble and Bumble products, so I may see them a time or two in the future.

I had a full set of Gels done by Maria. Considering I have very flat bed nails and a stubborn attitude, I should have chosen acrylic to help give the nail a more natural appearance, as she suggested. But I wanted those darn gels. She did a beautiful job. I’m not sure if the gel was just too fragile for my active lifestyle or what but they broke off in a few days. Shoot! Maria gave my husband a manicure the next day, and that was really where she shined. The man actually had nice hands under all that cuticle! I didn’t care much for my initial meeting with the receptionists. They were somewhat unfriendly.

I have been going to Salon nouvea for a long time for my brows and lip I go to Lisa she is very talented at her job I really love it when Fran is working the desk she always greets me by name and is very sweet

For thick wavy hair or cuts that require precision attention to detail, Tracy is the best. I’ve done different versions of the «Betty Paige» arc bangs over the years and she has always taken the time to make sure they are –perfect– which is no easy feat. I also don’t have easy hair to deal with… thick with a wave to it. Tracy always gives a beautiful cut. I’ve had a blow out once by her which she added a little bit of curl back in after and I have never seen my hair look better. She is a sure bet for a good hair cut on top of being just a fun person to talk to for an hour.
The salon itself has plenty of parking, comfortable lobby and very competent front desk staff.

So, all I got there was mani/​pedi. I thought for the price I paid, I was getting great service. The nails are not well polished and it took me forever to let my nails grow to the point of filing them square and the lady rounded them up. You can see clear faults on the polish and she took 2 hrs to get mani/​pedi done. She talked a lot and talked with her hands, so she couldn’t work and talk at the same time. The place is nice and the people are friendly.
Stick to the vietnamese near your house!!!

As a disclaimer, this is going to be slightly personal and uncomfortable for a second. But I feel I have to be, to share the appropriate reviewing information.
After doing some research I decided to go to Salon De Nouveau for my first bikini wax. I finally had enough with the shaving and was taking the plunge. I called and was scheduled an appointment with Lisa. Lisa was wonderful on so many levels, where to begin. She showed me around the salon and introduced me to different staff members. Then we went into the treatment room where we had the initial consult. I had explained that this was my first time and I wasn’t sure what to expect. She talked me through everything and explained the entire process. What she was going to do, what I was going to do, etc. She pointed out the wax they use and the fact that they do no double dipping in the wax. We also discussed what I wanted the end product to be, and what she recommended. All along the way she made sure to check with me to make sure she was doing what I wanted. And when was done she gave me great aftercare pointers.
Overall the process went extremely well. I was so impressed with Lisa and the fact that she took the time to make me feel comfortable and explain everything. That is a big deal when going through such a personal process. I felt the prices were also extremely reasonable.
I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, especially those who have not been waxed before. I made my next appointment before even leaving the salon.

She takes a lot of time to find out exactly what you want, and follows up to see what you liked and what you want to change during your next appointment. Debbie Lynn provides great advice on maintaining the look, too. Plus she’s a joy to visit with.
Staff here are very friendly and attentive.
