Serenity Nails Spa

This was the worst experience I have had getting my nails done. I had made an appointment to get a full set of gel nails. At first the nail tech tried to just do a normal manicure. I told him that I wanted a full set of gel nails and he started to put acrylic nails on. I once again asked for gels and he did it. However, one of the tips was put on crooked. The rest of the tips he did not file straight. At that point, I just wanted out and they look okay at a glance so I let it go. As I had my hands under the light to cure the gel, he left and never came back so I actually had to put on my own nail conditioner so I could leave.
This brand new set started lifting within a week. Now at 2 weeks one of the nails has already popped off. This is such a poor job! My normal nail girl is on vacation and her nails easily last 3 weeks, even if it is a fill. I will not be visiting Serenity again!,

I Tried Serenity Nails one time. It was also, the first time, I took my daughter to get a pedicure. It was a special day for her.
The girls who did our nails, we’re so distracted that they barely said hello. It felt so impersonal. The nail girl also left my feet in the water so that she could give someone an eyebrow wax… TWICE!
I have been going to salons for years, and never had someone multitask so much. They also only did a very light coat of polish. Usually they do an undercoat, 2 or 3 of polish, and a clear top coat. I felt they took short cuts.
The chairs seem old and uncomfortable.
I did not return. Plenty of great Salons in town… I found a better one.

I’ve been meaning to post a review for quite some time now. I’ve been getting my mani, pedi, & eyebrows waxed at this location for about 6 months now. I absolutely love them!
The salon is super clean. Everyone has their own expectation of clean but it meets mine. The surfaces are clean… The tools as well. They even offer a one time charge of $ 5 so you can reserve your own tool set ! Pretty neat if you don’t like using the tools previously used on someone else. They even offer free drinks. We’re not talking water, but soda and I believe Gatorade. For FREE!
The ladies there are phenomenal. They make small talk and I can tell by the times I’ve been there that they get to know their customers and their needs/​wants. Every time I have gone, there have been more then one «loyal» customer. I’ve even seen ladies who were getting ready for a wedding! The entire atmosphere is warming. Not like some places where you sit in silence.
The work is phenomenal too. I was deployed overseas and my feet and hands were a disaster. And the ladies helped them get back to their original form. They also help you find any color you’re looking for. Being military I’m very limited and the ladies have done such a great job looking at the pictures on my phone of examples and finding exactly want I wanted. I’ve never had an issue with my eyebrows either. They are on «fleek».
Everyone has their own experience and based on the reviews some people weren’t fond of the place. Each experience is different but I truly recommend them. It doesn’t hurt to try. The prices are reasonable ! Good luck !

Go to Nancy– She is amazing! My nails are always straight, the same length and the gel never runs onto my skin– I am very picky when it comes to my nails being perfect and Nancy delivers– also they have a lot of shellac colors to choose from and the cost is very good considering the quality.

My daughter and I and our friends have all been going to Serenity for years and we love it. As other reviewers indicated, you can pay a one-​time fee of $ 5.00 and have your own personal box with some nail tools and can bring in other ones if you like to keep in your box. Kelly does beautiful nail art and the one time I didn’t like the design she did, she didn’t mind at all removing it and doing a different one. The employees are always friendly, although they can get very busy at times!
Serenity is where I got my first gel manicure and it was beautiful! So, months later when I was out of the area and wanted to get another gel manicure, I went to a different salon. I have no idea what the difference was but that gel manicure lifted off of several nails. I went back and they repaired them but it happened again! I’ve had gel manicures at Serenity since then and they’ve never lifted, so I’m sticking with the place I know I can trust!
Besides a whole menu of different pedicure types and manicures, they also do waxing and again, I go to Kelly. She listens to me and does my brows the way I want them and I actually get compliments on my eyebrows after she does them!
I’ve both taken friends and referred friends to Serenity and they are always pleased. This place is a slightly hidden gem and when you decide to go get a really nice pedicure with a fantastic massage, be sure you go to the correct salon! Serenity is in the back corner of the shopping center, down the sidewalk from Albertson’s.

I got my last manicure at my usual spot but instead of cutting my right thumb cuticle it was painful ripped off. I believe it was an accident, but it hurt for days and it was a mess. I decided to try somewhere different. I had a 20% off first time customer coupon.
Today I had my gel polish changed at Serenity Nails. My experience was mixed. It was the middle of the day, a weekday, and not busy. I walked in without an appointment. There were two women getting pedicures and chatting, everyone else in the shop was an employee.
The first color I chose they were out of, I picked another color. The gentleman who did my nails wasn’t chatty. We didn’t talk at all. However, he was detailed and careful. He did a good job removing the old polish gently. He did a good job cutting and shaping my nails. The polish was applied well, nice and even, and not too thick. He wasn’t rushed or sloppy and my finished nails look great.
After I had my nails done I looked at a few of the Unilocal reviews. I have to say that I agree with the people who don’t think this shop is clean enough. It is so important to be clean and this place isn’t clean enough. I would also agree with the comments about the rundown looking equipment and furniture. As an example the vinyl manicure chairs are cracked and damaged. The yellow foam is exposed from the inside of the arms of the chairs. It is time to get new chairs. Everything looks worn out.
Another small issue was the clientele. A few minutes before I left a couple walked in asking for a pedicure and mentioned the coupon. The nail tech incorrectly told them they needed to get two services to use the coupon. She could have just been confused as I am sure they have multiple specials going on. The couple got unnecessarily loud and a bit combative. The nail tech checked with another employee and was told it was ok to use the coupon. I was glad to be on my way out, not having to share space with these rude new arrivals.
I wish I could recommend Serenity Nail because the polish was done well, but I just can’t. Today there were just too many issues and there are so many other nail salons in Tucson.

I am very excited to found this place, Serenity Nail Salon always the best nail place to go, they always have the cool color I wanted. and they always update the newest products & colors for you to choose from. they also carry all the most Gel polish brand Shallac. Etc…
All the staff are very professional and friendly, they will do whatever it takes to make sure you are happy and satisfied.
The only reason i rating 4 star. because they super busy during the weekend every single time i go there, i have to wait for at least 15 mins to get to the Spa chair. :(but over all good Job!

I have been going to this nail spa for a few years. Kelly is the best! I always feel they appreciate my business. Good customer service. The salon is clean, well organized with good communication. The staff is always friendly and helpful. You can have your own personal spa box that they will store there for you. They might try to get an add on sale, but that is how a business makes money. I don’t blame them for that, they are never pushy. Walk ins seem to get right in, but I always call and make an appt. I always feel welcome, get a good mani or pedi for a good price. Great foot massage! Always a good experience.

I think I was the only person who didn’t have a great time here. t was greeted when I walked in and liked the décor. Everything seemed clean and pretty. I was just disappointed that it took two hours to do a full set. but then again I think I was stuck with a new girl. She didn’t ask me how I wanted my nails filed and even used different size nails on either of my middle fingers. The plus to this was it was very inexpensive… but then again, you get what you pay for and I definitely won’t go back here again.

The guy that gave me a pedicure did a decent job minus the extra nail polish left on my toes (not nails), the girl that did my friends pedicure was ok but she did cause a small but painful cut. We came an hour before closing and I felt like we were rushed so they could leave exactly at 7. An employee started vacuuming so I couldn’t have a converstation with my friend and didn’t even vacuum between all the chairs where the nail dust builds up. It’s decent but nothing special.

This is my usual nail salon but after this time I will not be back. I got a full set and they came out terrible. Two nails are really short and the rest are long and completely uneven. She was very ruff and cut my fingers up. The lady was so rude, she keep saying «you need your eyebrows waxed bad» like that is so rude and an insult. Wasn’t to happy about that. On top of all this she keep pressuring me to pay. Usually you pay after your completely done and your nails are dry but she made me pay before she even painted my nails. Never going back again. Waste of $ 30 take your money and go to a better salon.

I found out about this mail salon thru Unilocal,they were by far the nicest, professional place I’ve been to in a long time. They removed my old thick nails from a previous salon with care and put a new set within 2 hours. I went on a weekday so no wait but I will be going back Ang I will make an appointment! Very many color to choose from, regular to gel!

This place is very clean, and the staff was friendly, however the quality of work was not good. I went in for a back fill, because my normal nail person was out of town. It took over 2 hours and my nails were left very thick and days later they were lifting.

Serenity Nail Spa was ok, I guess, but I likely won’t be back anymore. It’s certainly no where near as clean and fancy as many of these reviews seem to say it is. If you just glance, it seems fine, but when you get closer to surfaces, you can see how run down things are, and that some stuff is a little bit grungy. The UV machines were especially nasty to me. I really didn’t want to put my hands in them since they clearly are never wiped down. Ugh. I’m just not comfortable having my skin cut up during a manicure and then have to go touch surfaces that any unsanitary slob has potentially touched. My own fault for trying gel this time, I guess. Meh.
Speaking of that last manicure I got, it was just a mediocre job. The polish ended up on my cuticles and fingertips. It didn’t look particularly neat, but from afar, it was ok.
Back to the cleanliness issues. This was the first time I was in the waxing area and it was even worse than the mani/​pedi area. Oh my. I won’t ever step foot in there again, and it’s my breaking point. It solidified my skepticism about the other cleanliness issues that I thought I was just overreacting about at times. The waxing table was covered with a bunch of dirty towels. Instead of using a clean towel for the head rest, they just flipped over the dirty one that was already on there. I decided to lay on my purse. The floor had dead moths on it and their containers of supplies didn’t seem to be so clean, either.
Their prices were fine. The girls were nice, but on this visit, they were very interested in trying to get me to purchase other services that I didn’t want or need at all. I pretty much got guilted into waxing my eyebrows. I just don’t think I’ll be back here based on the fact that I feel like it’s not very sanitary. I need a place like this to exude cleanliness. You can get some pretty nasty stuff during manicures and pedicures if things aren’t sterile. Bottom line: I can find a cleaner place without having to drive more than two extra minutes, and the prices will be the same.

I have been to numerous different nail salons and spas in Tucson to get a pedicure, and this place takes the cake and others were major flops! For starters, this location offers personal boxes for a one time fee of $ 5 with your own nail tools, which really makes me feel more sanitary. In addition, the chemical smells of most nail salons is pretty much non-​existent here, which really appeals to me. Their location is very spacey and welcoming and on top of that everything is very clean and well kept. Great place to come to really relax and get your nails done. For $ 25 you can get a great pedicure, and for $ 30 you can get their additional callous treatment, and while it’s gross to see what can come off your feet, it leaves them feeling like a babies butt. Compare them, I dare ya! ;) Worth the extra $ 5 for me! And something that a lot of nail salons struggle to fix for me is ingrown toe nails. Not that any of you needed to know that about me, but it’s a big deal to me to have found a place that can not only fix them, but do a spectacular job that will last until my next monthly pedicure! If you haven’t found a good place to get your nails done in Tucson, definitively give this place a try!

Had a relaxing pedicure however the girls I went with had a horrible experience and their mani and pedi’s turned out terrible. Depends on the time you go and how busy it is to get great customer service.

They were very clean and knowledgeable. Family friendly as well. My daughters and I loved our Mani/pedi’s.

I suggested this place to my mother based on it’s Unilocal reviews. Boy, was THAT a mistake !
It’s not as clean as everyone claims it to be, and it’s pretty run-​down looking compared to other shops in the area.
My mom said that the tech kept raving about how she’s been doing nails for like 9 years… Well, lady, I’m surprised you still have a job.
All she went in for was a fill. Simple, quick, nothing dramatic. Well, it took about 50 minutes all together, which is ridiculous. Also, the end result looked as if it was the person’s FIRST TIME doing fills. Unevenness, gaps, just a horrid job. To top it off, they’re a total rip off. My mom didn’t have anymore time to waste to stick around and complain. But, we’ll definitely never be back OR recommend them to anyone.
We used to do nails. I’m not criticizing because I think I’m better. I’m knocking you off your pedestal because you plain & simply suck.
Stop boasting & start practicing.

It being my birthday this week, I wanted to treat myself to a little bit of pampering over the weekend. I’ve found a gem of a place on the Northwest side (Coachline Nails, if you’re in the Marana area) and have been making the trip up to them to get my fills… even though I moved to the east side a few months ago!
I know it’s time to detach the cord, and find a new east place side. However, nail salons are tricky. They are a dime a dozen, and run the gamut from knock-​your-​socks-​off to DON’T-TAKE-YOUR-SOCKS-OFF!
I turned to Unilocal,and found Serenity from it’s high reviews… and decided to give it a shot!
The other reviews were accurate. It was a pretty standard set up, pedicure spa chairs on one side, nail stations on the other. What set’s this place apart is the little details. The chairs are of higher quality, for starters. Rather than the dinky vibrating chairs, this one has a very nice roller ball massage… I was sore the next day! (In a good way). I noted that there is a wall of personal supply boxes for the regulars.
They gave me a menu of pedicure types, and I selected the standard pedicure ($ 25) with the add on callus remover ($ 5) for a total of $ 30. Sandy was my tech, and she was friendly and through. The callus remover was essentially a very heavy duty scrubbing – don’t sign up for this until you have very tough Arizona feet like mine! But I wear sandals 99% of the year, and my feet show it. The amount of goop she got off was both fabulous and horrifying. Worth every penny of my extra $ 5. I also thought the massage was above average, very lovely!
I also noted the curtains in between the pedicure stations… tied back while I was there, but Sandy said it was popular with the men getting their feet done (GAH! No one can know I am getting a pedicure!).
Feet look great, on to the fill.
My nails were in ROUGH shape. One had popped off, the others were grown way out. I’ve had acrylic nails for many years – No, I haven’t been able to make the leap to the gel nails, my nails are thin thin thin and I need some OOMPH to keep them from breaking. So I’ve come to appreciate a good fill… there really is an art to it. And having experienced both fantastic and awful fills, I can pick out when someone knows what they are doing. I’d give my gal an 8 out of 10… The only reason it wasn’t a 10 was because afterwards I had an under nail (my real nail) that didn’t get glued and it was jagged underneath. An easy oversight, but still annoying to have to deal with.
I noticed during my fill that there were vents on the wall, next to the nail stations. I asked if these were special air vents? My tech said yes… expensive to install, but these special air vents right next to the nail stations kept the air as fresh as possible and avoided that nail salon odor… and now that she mentioned it, it did smell pretty chemical free! A nice touch for folks who are sensitive to smells.
My fill was $ 15, plus an extra $ 3 for fixing the broken nail, for a total of $ 48 for both the pedicure and the fill.
So… I think I have a new eastside nail place! Not as good for fills on my first visit, but overall it is a clean, orderly, and friendly place!
NOTE: There are actually TWO nail salons in this strip… there’s one in the freestanding buildings closest to the Broadway/​Harrison intersection, and Serenity is actually back in the corner of the main line of businesses… make sure you go to the back corner if you’re looking for Serenity!

Last weekend I went to my regular place (who shall remain nameless for evermore) to get my nails done and at 11AM on a Sunday they only had one employee there with one customer in the spa chair and six waiting. I was told it would be a long wait and could I please come back in a couple of hours.
Yeah, not so much.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered Serenity Nail Spa just a hop, skip and jump away. For the exact same price ($ 37 for a mani/​pedi) I was treated to no waiting, a cold bottle of water, a complimentary hot stone leg massage, hot towels after the normal massage with lotion (hands & feet) and a very detailed mani/​pedi.
The interior of this nail salon is very chic. Spa chairs are separated by tied back curtains and calming spa-​like artwork on the walls. For a small fee ($ 5), they will store the nail tools used for you in a small box for your next visit & keep them separate from everything else. For those worried about hygiene problems with sharing salon tools, this is a great idea and the first I’ve ever seen in a nail salon. I love the idea and intend to take them up on it on my next visit.
But what sold me on this nail salon? What made them my new ‘regular place,’ you ask? I’ve now had a chip-​free fire engine red manicure 5+ days. That is amazing and a telling sign of the quality of service at this salon. (It’s not even Shellac!)

‘Twas a time when I would treat myself to a weekly mani-​pedi. Now it seems like a semi-​yearly thing, if that. (I know!!)
Then, there was all that talk about icky infections… So, I let my pedi-​area go «natural». The upside: I could walk across fire with my calloused heels. The downside: well, sandals aren’t a pretty option.
However. I do believe I’m a lucky girl because the first nail salon I spotted after we moved to Tucson a year and half ago — literally a stone’s throw from my home on the East Side — earns its five stars. In spades.
Do I go monthly? Um, no. But when I do… OMG! … it must be Serenity Nail Spa.
I have been in for three pedicures (only three in a year and a half? I know!!) and the staff are always welcoming. The massaging chairs are magical stress-​relievers. And, four weeks after my last pedicure, my polish appears to be… well, bulletproof! (Although I haven’t taken an actual bullet to it.)
I am feeling ready for a holiday treat and dreaming about Serenity’s full-​Monty for feet, which includes a moisturizing «mask» and a few other tricks to smooth stubborn calluses. Ahhhhh!
