I am pleasantly surprised going here. The pharmacist knows my name, they are willing to take time to answer questions. The lines could be shorter, but compared to other Walgreens, it’s pretty good.

Thank you for having a 24 hour pharmacy! My husband was able to pick up Tamiflu for me at 11pm last night. Thank you, again!

This may not be the most attractive Walgreens in town and the parking lot and exterior could use a facelift, but the service is great and most of the time everyone is really nice. The pharmacy is efficient, the hours are good, the location is central and I’m sure they stock everything else other Walgreens stock. This location in particular always has a ton of U of A goodies… so you can get all decked out for a game without stepping foot on campus and dealing with their crazy busy bookstore.

The only reason I keep ending up here is the because of how close it is to my house and because I haven’t ever received better service at a different Walgreen’s. Some recent experiences include: — a ONEHOUR visit to get passport photos taken. I was the only one in store, but the girl kept cropping the photo wrong and kept having to retake it which turned into quite the ordeal. At least I got to keep the pretty funny collection of botched photos — two simple prescriptions were on auto fill and on two separate occasions the automated system called to tell me they were ready. After getting to the pharmacy and waiting on line both times, neither was ready. The second occasion they«lost» my insurance information and instead of calling me up they let me sit there for about 45 minutes until I finally asked if it was ready yet, and that’s when they told me, so I had to wait all over. — I bought super glue and when I got home and opened the box, there was no glue in it… hopefully just a fluke but rather strange! Bottom line, be sure to double and triple check everything if you have to go!

This is the closest 24-hour pharmacy. The staff is professional. I only had a minimal wait in the drive through. Unfortunately this is becoming a pretty sketchy part of town. I love the bullet marks in the bullet proof glass and the scary looking people in the parking lot. I tend to not go in to the store after dark unless I have to.

I don’t have any complaints about this Walgreens. It is okay. They have the candy I like, the wait times at the front register are not long, for the most part it’s always clean. The location is good for me and I will continue to stop here. But I have yet to get a prescription here, so I will update if that happens.

Is it too soon to joke about Communism? Is it in extremely poor taste to draw parallels between an impoverished national health system a Walgreen’s Pharmacy? Before you respond, try getting a prescription filled at this or any one of their many locations. There are several reasons I have defected to Target’s fine network of pharmacies. Something about the lighting and linoleum in a Walgreen’s really exacerbates my symptoms. If I didn’t feel sick before picking up my prescription, the grimy, fluorescent ambiance and inevitable fight to get some drugs usually has me doubled over on the way out to the car. This is no one in particular’s fault, but bears mentioning. Which brings us to the real problem: the struggle. Why is it always a trial here? Do you take my insurance? Is my prescription ready? Can you fax my doctor? I don’t think these are real mindblowers, but since I can never get a direct response, I’m also left wondering what I’ve done to make the pharmacy techs so mad. Why are you treating me this way? Because I’m infirm? You know, in some circles, illness elicits sympathy. This isn’t one of them, and when you’re feeling sick and sensitive, that can make you feel like you’re in one of the outer rings of hell. Just go to Target, ok?

Allie, Lee — I had the same problem with one pharmacist. But I am always treated very well by employees, just this morning I was leaving the pharmacy area with several bags, and dropped a few items — everyone came to my assistance. I also highly recommend using the online services to coordinate with this Walgreens. One thing that’s prevented any problems such as Lee describes is ensuring I’ve got my prescriptions set up online with notifications. You can also have your prescriptions sent to your home if you’re in need of that service. I stop at this Walgreens almost weekly for this and that, and deal with the Pharmacy on a monthly basis. I am very pleased with the service. Perhaps part of my bias is I recall the old El Rancho Walgreens as my primary pharmacy, and that place was just a crowded mess in comparison.

I’ve been dealing with this branch since it opened back about 11 or 12 years ago now. Great, convenient location for me; knowing it’s open 24⁄7 including holidays is nice to know and the staff in the main part of the store are great. The staff in the pharmacy is another matter. Now, the majority of the time I’ve had no problems; those have been helpful, friendly, did their jobs, but there’s been times where I was surprised they were hired. I’ve been given the wrong information over the phone about what prescriptions I had available, given the wrong information about when a prescription would be ready to go, been told that their system couldn’t add a note to my account while another tech told me it could(the system actually could). Not all that professional, IMHO. Just keep in mind that a follow-up call to check on a prescription can be helpful.

They have a nice location, nice store and drive through pharmacy. However, their pharmacy employees are some of the worst. While calling to check on a refill, the employee got angry with me and hung up on me… and ladies, expect to get some judgmental looks from the older male employees when picking up your birth control. Avoid this particular location.
