Someone opened a claim for me but they don’t answer the phone or call back to set up an appointment. Can’t speak for their service since I will never experience that!

This company gave me the WORST SERVICE I have EVER had with a contractor. First of all you have to wait 30 minutes to have someone take your call. (AND THIS KEPT HAPPENING OVER AND OVER IN THE NEXT 10 CALLS I MADE TO THAT PLACE) Totally bad customer service. They give you an emergency phone number and no one ever calls you back. While on ENDLESS hold their message says they give round the clock service which is a joke. They say their office hours are until 5 but stop taking calls a 4.
We had 110 degree heat here and I had them come out the first time. 4 Times later, my air conditioner is still not running right and there is now cold air flowing under the house instead of in it. When I tried to explain this to the contractor the FOURTH they time out, he looked at me like I had 3 heads. THE WORST SERVICE EVER… DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!!!
Now I am still sitting here 4 days later, still in 100 degree heat and 4 visits later and the unit is not fixed or running properly. Not even gonna mention that now there are now wires hanging out of the top of my unit outside which were not there before they came. WTF? BAD BUSINESS, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A TECH WHO CLEARLY DID NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO FIX A PROBLEM. AFTER THE 2ND VISIT, WHEN THE UNIT STILL WAS NOT WORKING, HE WALKED OUT AND SAID THEIR WAS NOTHING ELSE HE COULD DO.

Three times through home warranty and they can not fix our air conditioner. We have two small children and there is a hit wave this weekend. They have been here twice and couldn’t fix the problem. This is our third time calling them in. Last time they listed that the motor was replaced, which seems like a lie, as we can not imagine a central AC motor being replaced without having to order a new motor. Stay away from this company they do not provide results.

I had a very good experience with this company. I was referred by my home warranty co.
They came out promptly during the time frame they said they would and were able to quickly and efficiently repair my broken air-​conditioning unit. I would recommend them.

I have had to use this company twice now through my home warranty. The first time out in 2012 we had a problem with our heater motor. It took them 3 days to come out while my wife, several guests, and I froze in our 60 degree house. The technician was alright and he did eventually fix the problem. My experience with this company today is really why I am writing this review. Our A/​C blower was leaking from what we thought was a clogged condensation line. We called our home warranty company and they scheduled someone to come out between 4pm and 7pm. My wife and I went in to work early at 6am to make sure that we were home in time to meet them. A little after 10am, my wife received a call from the tech saying that the company had made a scheduling error and asked if they could come now. My wife explained that we were at work an hour away and could not be there until 4pm. The tech seemed annoyed by this, but said that he would be there at 4pm because «he had to». When we arrived around 3:40pm, the tech and his assistant were waiting for us. They both came in and my wife showed them the A/​C blower unit. The tech looked and said that the drain was probably clogged and that he «would try to unclog it, but if he couldn’t there was nothing that he could do.» Then he detached the drain hose and then went and got a tank which he hooked up to the hose. He said that it wasn’t working and that «there must be cement in the drain». WTF? He said he didn’t know where the line went out. All he could do at this point was sell us a condensation pump for $ 450.00 which would not be covered by the warranty. My wife asked if he could look for the drain line outside which he reluctantly did for a couple minutes claiming he couldn’t find it. We both then walked the entire property trying to find the drain line while he followed us. At this point I happened to mention that I had a similar problem in my last home and an A/​C tech was able to fix it inside the blower (General Air, GREAT company in Monrovia). He then told me, «No, that must have been a plumber». I assured him it was an A/​C tech and he again said it had to have been a plumber. I said, «So you’re calling me a liar? «You weren’t there, I was.» At this point I asked him to leave. It wasn’t hard to figure out that this guy just wanted to get on the road ASAP because he had a long drive back to the valley. Even his assistant seemed puzzled by his lack of effort the whole time and was urging him to do more. His other aim seemed to be trying to overcharge us for a condensation pump. To top it all off his tank got rust stains on our carpet. Called the home warranty company to complain and they are sending out another company. Read the bad reviews, DON’T USE THIS COMPANY, you will regret it!

I have been using a home warranty company for years. Sometimes the vendors they send out are good and sometimes not. However, I just had a very positive experience with E & A Mechanical with my A/​C. The called me promptly and set up an appointment for the next day. The technician showed up with a smile on his face and was very courteous and polite. Eugene resolved the problem in a short period of time. What more can you ask for? Thank you, Eugene!

Terrible service — will not provide you with honest service. Beware of technician reluctance to provide you with a proper report on work completed.

These negative reviews appear spot-​on. Here is the rundown of my experience:
1. Referred by Home Warranty
2. They called within the 24 hour window (left a message)
3. I scheduled the appointment.
All good so far right?
The technician, Garry, came within the window. As mentioned in other reviews he does not any social skills and I am glad I was not home alone. He did just kind of stand there. After the visit I gathered he is just sent to collect the required payment and state there is no issue.
Talking to him was like short text messages. Here for XX, okkkkkaaaaay, told him the problem, we walked quietly to the area, he reviewed it, within 15 minutes he returned stating «I can’t help you» okkkkaaayyyy… why not? After some probing he said everything was fine. I said no it isn’t or I wouldn’t have called you. He just stared and told me the charge for the call. I reluctantly paid just to have him leave — I cant trust someone like that to do the work, obviously he didn’t want to. He left. WTH?!?

After being without heat in our new home for a week, Arthur from E&A came out and within 15 minutes had our furnace back up and running. He diagnosed the problem with the furnace and replaced a small part resulting in a faster less expensive fix than we were lead to believe by another company. Arthur the technician was polite, courteous and I would call E&A again in a heart beat. Thank you E&A.

Do NOT hire this company! Our heater broke a week ago and the earliest we could get them to fix it was today. They just called us an hour before our week long appointment to reschedule for tomorrow. Mind you, it is winter and our house is 55 degrees! The woman on the phone was very rude and unhelpful. Save your time, money and sanity!

Had a problem in which my thermostat was incorrectly wired such that the heater and air conditioner came on at the same time when I tried to turn on the heat. I did not realize this and was concerned that heat was getting lost out the ducts above the heater.
Alex (Alec?) and Sam came out and quickly figured out the issue. The thermostat was replaced, wired correctly, and now both systems work perfectly.
There was no nonsense, and they worked quickly and diligently.

I went to open the door for the technician from this place, and realized at once that I would either (1) be murdered in my house, or (2) get my furnace fixed. Spoiler alert: neither of these things has happened (yet).
This guy just stood there, staring at me. I awkwardly mentioned that my husband may have called and spoken with him about the repair.
«No.»
Well, okayyyyyyyyy then. I let him in, and he just stood there again. I reminded him that he was there to fix my furnace (?!) and showed him the way. He got to work, wordlessly. Keep in mind, this dude absolutely, 100% looks like he left his full time job as a Russian assassin to fix furnaces. Thankfully, minutes later my dad arrived.
My dad started watching him doing his work, and having decades of experience as a general Fixer of Everything and Smart Person, noticed the guy was trying to clean parts that were clearly older than time and needed replacing. When my dad asked the guy about why he was cleaning versus just marking for replacement, the guy could not have been MORE RUDE with his responses – or lack thereof. He was INCREDIBLY defensive, and short, with every response.
Keep in mind – we had these people out here because our insurance company made us. We’d called Canoga Park Heat & Air last week, who came in and professionally looked at everything, provided options, but told us REPLACING THE 30 YEAR OLD MACHINE was really the only option. They mentioned 2 other parts that, if replaced, could give us 1 more year of life on the machine. Anyway, so this guy kept tinkering and tinkering for about an hour, and finally closed up his tools, stood in front of me and handed me an invoice for $ 60.
I asked what he’d done. He said, «I fixed it.» And I said, «What does that mean? What did you do, exactly?»
He said, «I fixed the spring coil» (something like that, I don’t know). I asked if that was all wrong. He said that was the only thing wrong. I told him the other guy was here last week, and found TWO other parts that need replacing. He said, «that doesn’t matter to me.» I said, WHAT? WHAT DOESN’T MATTER? And he said, «what another repair person says doesn’t matter to me.»
OK, I get this in theory – but why would you talk to me that way? Why wouldn’t you say, «Oh, that’s not what I found. I found this to be the only part that needs attention,» or something like that. AGGRESSIVE AND RUDE. At this point I asked if there was a problem, because I didn’t appreciate his tone. And he smiled and said there was no problem.
My dad asked if this repair had a warranty on it, and the guy said yes, 6 months. My dad asked if it was in writing on the invoice, and he said it was. I read the invoice, it was not. I guess the guy got tired of me actually READING THE FINE PRINT on what I was going to sign, and suddenly said, VERY HUFFY, «I know what you want! You want me to replace the part!» And before I could even respond, he was back at the furnace, angrily opening everything up again, and taking out the part. He then closed it up, held the part in his hand, and said, «We’ll call you when it’s ready. My work is done for today.» And I went to respond, EXCEPT HE STARTED WALKING OUT OF MY HOUSE AND DIDN’T LET ME.
I don’t know how this epic tale of laughter and tears will end, as I’m not sure if we’ll get the parts tomorrow. I’ll be sure to update. What I think is extra special is that he took the part he had «repaired» with him, to make sure I’d have no chance of even an accidental warming up of my house in this, the first cold spell LA has ever had in history. He didn’t even leave me a slip stating what he did, or what he’d be replacing.
As I said, the dude ignored me when he was done, and walked out. Of course I didn’t sign anything or pay anything. He did not wait so I could ask WHEN the parts would likely be ready, or to even say goodbye (I thought we had a special connection).

I was referred to E&A Mechanical by my insurance company. I went on Unilocal to find out what kind of reviews this company had and I was quite concerned about the service I would receive.
I have to say what we experienced was quite the opposite from what I read.
I was very impressed by their professionalism. They came to our home the day after we put the claim in to access the situation.
When they ordered the part for the A/​C they were told it would not be available for at least two weeks.
Thanks to Carmen the Office Manager she called another vendor and got approval from the insurance company to use them. She was able to get a rush on the order and get the unit here in four days. (Thank you).
The crew came today to install the unit, they were very professional, friendly, cleaned up after themselves and did a great job.
I highly recommend E&A Mechanical.

I have to say — this company not only saved me but went above and beyond. I was assigned to this vendor by my home insurance warranty plan and I saw the reviews here. I was prepared to be upset. But instead they came out within 24 hours and fixed our AC. (During a heat wave) And even followed up well, when a 2^nd part broke later that season. Then I asked for documentation afterwards for my personal records and they sent that pretty quickly.
I think the key is to not wait until your home ins company contacts them. Once you’re assigned to them, call them directly to schedule your appt. Good luck!

THE WORST COMPANY EVER! Came through American Home Shield to address AC issues 3 months ago. 1^st time repair lasted 15 min. Different company came out and re-​addressed the problem. 2^nd call was yesterday (7÷7÷2015)… while trying to figure out why they NEVER submitted the report to insurance company, we find out that technician reported being threatened and refuses to come back out. If it wasn’t for the discomfort of non-​air conditioned house, this would be hilarious. Apparently he was threatened by a 4’8″ young woman holding a new born baby.
This «company» is a complete joke. Give business to people who actually deserve it and are competent and honest. Please do not support these scammers. Help your community by driving them out of business.

The technician came at an unexpected hour. He first complained about my small dog being scary. And then claimed my A/​C to be fine… Until I told him to go check in the roof. He left without getting the work done. Very bad attitude and work ethic. Very unsatisfied. Not recommended.

This is the absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with. They fixed my AC a year ago. More than a year later someone from the city has to inspect. Turns out there was a fire hazard because the job was done incorrectly. Someone had to come back and fix it. An inspector needs to come back again.
It has been an absolute nightmare having to deal with these people. I have had to take at least 5 days off of work in total for all of the back & forth. I have been canceled on repeatedly, because of E&A.
Finally, I called the inspectors office & scheduled the appointment myself. The city inspectors office was so polite & were able to work with me.
Seriously, do not use this company. If you are using them because of your insurance company, ask them to provide you with a different one.

I finally had my final inspection, turns out the permit expired in June 2013. It is now Feb. 2015.

Absolutely horrible service and work!!! I was given this company to do insurance repair work by American Home Shield. The first time the repair man came out here to fix the heater, I sat there and watched everything he was doing. Thank goodnes I did, because if you take your eyes off these jokers, they will try to do some rigging job.
My repair tech wasn’t really trying to explain anything to me while he was working. The less he tells me I bet he’s thinking the crappier a job he can do. He was tryingnall kinds nonsense with some copper wire he stripped from some cablemand it wasn’t working. Finally he determines it must be a thermal fuse, but doesn’t tell me that. He then strips a thicker piece of cable and that’s when I questione he is doing as I see the part he removed.
At this point I tell him he’s not putting that copper wire in to replace the part he took out. Thank god I was watching him all this time, otherwise if that did work, I could be running the risk for a fire when the system overloads with no fuse in place. After going back and forth he finally decides he will replace the fuse with another one, but that will take at least 5 business days to arrive. I had to demand he give me paperwork showing what he did. Apparently yhis is a big no no for him as they try to document as little as possible and just bill the insurance whatever they want as long as it’s below the max. When I asked him if he cant fix the unit, will he report that to the insurance company, and he told me NO.
We come to today, and the same guy comes out. Note, I also called my insurance company to complain, but that didn’t do much. I’ll be cancelling them and just saving that money for my own repairs. So he starts work and doesn’t even come prepared. Asks to borrow a step ladder and a flashlight. He starts work and I’m watching himthe entire time. He finishes, asks me to turn the unit on, and then seals up the area. I don’t get a chance to i spect the area, and when I ask him to stay at least 20 min to ensure that the heater is working, he says no. I say I’m going to call the insurance company while he is still here and he says that he wont talk to them. We argue a little, and I blew my top and dropped an F-​bomb. I felt bad, but he doesn’t care one bit about me and my safety.
To end this, he just grabs his gear and takes off. No receipt, no nothing. The thing to note here is that they will do whatever it takes to leave without having to ever say the unit needs to be replaced. The insurance company gives out the contract work based on how little money they have to pay out. So if company A doesn’t ever have to replace anything, but company B (let’s say they are more honest) does initiate repair claims, company A will get more work in the future. It’s designed to screw the customer in the end. Oh well, I will not be renewing my policy with AHS, and go out on my own as pretty much everything I replaced when I bought the place.
If you are thinking of hiring these guys, you would have to be crazy. DO NOT HIRE THEM!
