People from this company have been coming to my door for years, despite the fact that I have a bright red No Soliciting sign on my door. After purchasing a Canary, which is a security system that records audio and video inside of your house, I decided to let one of these people in. The salesman’s name was Vinny. He asked me what area of my home gets the most traffic. I replied the front hallway, which I was standing in. When he came into my house, he proceeded to stare at my living room electronics while asking me what the name of my dog was, if I watch Breaking Bad(the Netflix menu was up on my television screen), and what the name of my security system was. I got visibly angry, and he wrote his name down on a flyer and left without talking about his company. There was no normal conversation occurring while he was asking me these questions. He just basically came to my door, asked me what carpet gets the most traffic, asked me those three weird questions, wrote his name down on the flyer, and left. My husband, who works for a local news channel, viewed the video and then called the number on the flyer. He asked them if the salesman had undergone a background check. He had. Oddly enough, this company is located in Tukwila, whereas I live in Marysville. Their«area» is apparently the entirety of Western Washington. This might not be connected, bur neighborhood had been experiencing a theft, fraud, and burglary spree prior to this. It slowed down dramatically after this incident. So basically what I’m saying is that if you want your house cased, then by all means, allow these salespeople into your home. The Canary does not allow downloading of their videos yet, but I will be sure to post it to YouTube along with a photo of the flyer when they update their system in the very near future.
