A Best Tailoring & Alterations

Well, as a recent resident of Seattle, I was shocked at how few men’s tailors there are up here as compared to LA. Anyway, I came across this alterations shop and brought three pairs of pants wanting to make sure she could do the simple things before I gave her a nice sport coat to alter. She mentioned she alters men’s suits as well but it turns out my caution was well rewarded. All I wanted done was to have the legs hemmed and suspender buttons affixed on two of the pants. She quoted me the price and a week later I picked up the garments from the office she shares with an accountant. It is an odd setting but I forged ahead. The price had been altered higher without her asking me but my main gripe is the work just lacks something. The hems are OK but the buttons sewn do not seem to be the right spacing and in the future, I will limit anything to the pants being hemmed. I would never allow her to alter a quality suit or sport coat as I may not be able to replace with the same quality. Prices are fair but remember you get what you pay for. Odd experience as I have seen many over the top reviews from bridal customers.

I highly, highly recommend that anyone looking for some MAJOR bridal gown alterations on a budget needs to see Ezzat at A Best Tailoring! She makes miracles happen and she is very knowledgeable in her profession. And also — if it helps, she used to actually make gowns herself, so she knows what a well-​designed gown should look like, inside and out.
I’ll admit it. I had my parents buy me a cheap gown from a market in the Philippines and had them bring it back to me coz I was so overwhelmed with wedding dress shopping that I took the lazy way out since I wasn’t picky. I got what they paid for and as much as I appreciated it, it still needed lots of work down to it. The seams were uneven, the hemming was horrible, and I needed a modesty panel added to the back. Ezzat came off to me as very honest and she was more than fair in her pricing. I don’t think any other tailor would have been willing to do all the alterations I needed, and if they did, they would have charged an arm and a leg and probably my first child.
After her initial examination of my gown, she still found other things that needed to be fixed along the way and did them anyway while honoring the original quote we agreed upon. She told me, «There is no way I would let my bride leave unless the dress was perfect!» She is caring, comforting, and understanding about the bridal stress and anxiety that comes with trusting a tailor on what should be the most beautiful dress you’ll ever wear in your life! I felt like I was in good hands with her throughout the whole process and she was always more concerned about the satisfaction of her clients than the payment her project would bring in.

I bought my wedding dress used online and took it to her because it needed some minor issues fixed. She was polite, fast and very friendly! David’s bridal wanted to charge me over $ 70 and she only charged me $ 10! She also added a personal touch to sew my dads military tag in the back of my dress for me :)
Her husbands tax business is in the back, and she has the front part of the office for her alterations. Nonetheless, it didn’t bother me At all! Would definitely come back to her for other things! :)

I had a dress for a major event. She made me look like a million dollars. This service isn’t cheap, but worth every penny.

This is the first tailoring place I’ve ever been to, but I’m quite convinced that this is as good as it gets! Ezzat is professional, candid, and ethical about her work. She will not try to convince you to alter your garment if she believes that it would get ruined. Plus, she will give you a fair rate — if you bought a shirt for $ 15 she won’t charge you $ 15 to get it hemmed. She also offers fashion advice and tells you if your garment properly fits you or not.
I got 3 shirt hemmed for $ 10 each x 3 = $ 30 + tax. They look great! Very skillfully done so much so that you can’t even tell if they were altered.
I got a black jean hemmed for $ 15 + tax. That is an awesome rate considering that I bought the pants for $ 85. So for a total of $ 100 for a awesome looking pants that actually fits me.

I had my wedding dress altered here and it came out wonderful! Ezzat was very professional, very personable and quick and she did such a wonderful job!

Amazing tailor! Quick, clean, professional! I got my flight attendant uniforms altered and they were ready ahead of schedule! Will definitely use again next time I’m in Seattle!

In 2013 I brought in a full length summer dress with an intricate pattern to be hemmed. Expecting some of the design at the bottom of the dress to be ‘cut away, I was amazed that instead. she unstitched the waist, shortening the dress without ever touching the beautiful hem! It was just gorgeous‼ALWAYS get compliments when I wear my now favorite summer dress! Extremely reasonable rates and quick turn around… just dropped off 5 pairs of men’s pants & 3 dresses for hemming; Also, 1 dress to add straps & have a blouse ‘fixed’ that was too long-​waisted on me. All this to be ready in 3 days (leaving for Maui in 4 days)‼ Will continue to have all future alterations done at A-​Best Alterations. If YOU’RE Smart… YOU will too!

Wow $ 20 for pants hemming… I’d rather bring it to Nordstrom.

Ezzat is amazing! She is very professional and incredibly talented. Although she was not listed on the list of tailors provided to me by my bridal shop, I read all of the great reviews on her from Unilocal and decided to take a chance. I am glad I did! She turned my size 8 wedding dress to fit my torso to a size 4 and top to a size 6. My wedding dress looked amazing thanks to Ezzat! I highly recommend this place to other brides!

I had a fantastic experience with a best tailoring and alterations. The tailor, Ezzat, was friendly courteous and very fast. I would highly recommend her business to anyone looking for alterations. I went in needing an alteration within 10 days, she was able to get this done for me and it was a perfect fit. Very high quality. I will definitely use her services again in the future

I used Unilocal to find Ezzat a few years ago to get two dresses altered, one of which was my wedding dress. I was married in Oct ’11, so my apologies for the slightly outdated review… I finally got on it two years later.
I took a dress to be altered prior to my wedding dress as a test. It was a little small and the seams had to be let out, which as I understand it is pretty labor intensive. The price was right and it looked brand new when I picked it up, and most importantly fit perfectly.
For my wedding dress, I had Ezzat remove the train, and then she hemmed the entire length. The bust area was too big and had to be brought in, which was done very impressively when you consider I had a sweetheart neckline with rouching. I was charged something like $ 140 for all that (I don’t exactly remember, so don’t quote me), which is significantly cheaper than bridal alterations basically anywhere.
In both cases I received my dresses faster than expected and it was pretty easy to set up an appointment. Also, Ezzat does tailoring for David’s Bridal (I think it’s on a contract basis), so despite the lack of a store front you know she is the real deal. I’ll be using A Best for all future tailoring needs, without a doubt.

I took my too small bridesmaids dress to Ezzat with the lingering feeling I would still not fit into it by the 30 day wedding mark. I dreaded the initial fitting and assumed she would tell me nothing could be done. Ezzat was prompt in contacting me on the day my dress was ready and showed me thoroughly how to lace the corset she replaced the zipper with. The dress fit amazing when I tried it on and I was in disbelief that it was the same dress I came in with. Ezzat was able to match additional fabric to my dress’ color and texture perfectly. The price was fair for the amount of alterations and hand sewing involved. When I put my dress on at the wedding, it was a better fit than I had remembered, even from the last fitting a few days prior and the Bride said she preferred the corset back of mine (which matched her dress) than the zipper of the other maids. Both the other bridesmaids also said they had wished theirs was corset back as well. I would definitely recommend Ezzat and I have already returned with several other alterations of my own!

The most important thing to know if you want to come here, is how to get to the building. You cannot access the parking lot, nor see the building directly from Southcenter Blvd. You have to turn north on 62^nd Ave. and then left at the T to get into the parking lot. It is located within the Pacific rim building.
As for the alterations, they were excellently done breathing new life into a suit I was unable to wear, and the work was reasonably priced.
I would definitely call and make an appointment before coming in to drop off or pick up alterations.

Found her on Unilocal and she was fabulous. She hemmed a dress that another alterations had refused to do because of the difficulty. She did a wonderful job and was a wonderful person to work with. She had it done when she said and at a reasonable price… use her you won’t regret it.

She did a good job with the alterations, BUT my wedding dress STINKS! It smells like curry or some other type of cooking spice. I called her to ask that she refund me the cost of the dry cleaner trying to get the smell out. She insists that it could not possibly smell bad and refused to refund me $ 40 of the $ 187 she charged to take out the dress a little and put a bustle in it. I can’t believe she is arguing with me on this point. I hope I can get the smell out before my wedding day!

I just got back from meeting with Ezzat, the lovely Iranian woman who owns A Best Tailoring & Alterations and will be doing the alterations on my wedding dress. She is darling and it is quite obvious that she really knows her stuff. She shares an office space with her husband (an accountant) over by the Southcenter Mall. She said that she would like to have her own space but because she only moved here a few years ago, her English isn’t very good and she still needs help talking to customers. Honestly… I had know idea what she was talking about. Her English sounded just fine to me!
Anyway, I had a great time with her. She was very professional and friendly. She fixed up the hem of my dress, threw in some bra cups, moved the straps on my dress and created a beautiful bustle to boot. I can’t wait to see the finished product! I’m so glad I took a chance on her!

i should’ve listened to my sister.
i had been looking for a place to take my wedding dress– it was too long and the top wasn’t the perfect fit around the bust.
my sister pointed out a place called «a best tailoring» because she found it on the better business bureau. i told her that i wanted to keep looking around first. i took it to two places that i found here on Unilocal.the first place didn’t even do that type of alteration (the lace hem). and the second place that COULD do it wanted $ 750‑1000 for the job. and that was just the hem!
so as a «last resort,» i took my dress here. i should’ve done that first. she charged me only about $ 150 for the hem, the bustle, the bustline, and for sewing bra fasteners in. the «store» is completely no frills— i think she runs her side business out of her husband’s office in tukwila. but, i’m not paying for an aesthetic environment…
my dress took a little less than a month to do (i wasn’t in a huge rush) and it looks like NOTHING was altered on it. amazing! she’s super sweet, too.
i’m recommending this to anyone who needs alterations.
