Act 3 Catering

It was my first time planning a holiday party… the even more stressful part was that the party was at my boss’s house.
Many inquiries went out to different catering companies but only a few responses came back in a timely manner. Act 3 was one of them. Aryn was great at communication and answering all my questions. Their prices and policies were more reasonable than other companies. Loved the different menu options. Aryn had great recommendation.
The day came and they arrived at the time we discussed. They brought their own holiday themed décor for the table. They had a menu that said Happy Holidays to *our company’s name.” Maureen and London did a great job and setting up. Party started at 6 and they were all ready to go by 550. They were behind the scenes cleaning up after everyone, replenishing food, and taking out the trash!!!
Food was amazing! Loved the stuffed mushrooms, pita points, crab and artichoke dip.
Everyone had an amazing time and it’s mostly because of Act 3. Definitely recommend and will be use again!

Act 3 came highly recommended from our wedding planner, when we arrived to their location in Tukwila it looked unassuming, but don’t let that fool you. Inside they have the most helpful, kind and wonderful staff to help you with a tasting, menu review and everything to finalize your event.
The chefs created the most amazing array of food items for our guests and we heard nothing but great feedback from our guests.
They left the venue cleaner than when they arrived, ensured me and my wife had top notch service all night and made our reception a success.

These guys are awesome. The food was wonderful, as was the customer service. And best yet, at the end of the night, they went above and beyond to make sure our venue was cleaned up and packed away. Overall a great experience!

Bartender was a smart ass to my grandmother. Food was lacking. Staff was eating in front of guests.
The servers were on top of their game when it came to bussing tables and bringing water so at least they have that going for them.

They recently did my wedding and the sales team was thorough, the pricing was right and the service was amazing. Not only did the team show up on time but they were ready to go, setting up food, buffets, bars and while I was not able to show them around personally (since I was the bride). The team showed up and knew exactly what needed to be done.
During the event they were friendly, fun and service to the guests was seamless… they were doing their job discreetly at the same time were very present for any guests questions.
They left their working space completely organized and clean and all the leftover food packaged in the fridge.
i am in the wedding planning business and they are my #1 referred catering company as they always do an amazing job!

I used Act 3 on multiple occasions for corporate events at my last job. We never asked too much of them, simple boxed lunches for about 30 – 40 people, but they absolutely delivered. Delicious sandwiches, salads and wraps, cookies, bottled water, chips, and included all the serviceware. They delivered the stuff on time and in great order. I would definitely recommend them for corporate catering without hesitation.
At one event my boss invited an additional 5 – 7 people without telling me, and a quick phone call before the delivery came in and they were able to add several additional meals with about an hour notice. It was DEFINITELY appreciated. They really saved my butt.

We liked Act 3 so much, we used them again for our wedding reception. Completely different venue and menu, but same experience — great food and happy guests!
Act 3 was easy to work with, very responsive, and amazing on the day of the event. They researched our venue beforehand, and did a great job at bringing décor and linens that harmonzied with the season and the event. Afterwards, my family kept asking if they needed to pack up ornaments and vases, thinking they were mine — I had to tell them no, it all belonged to the caterers.
They arrived a little early, which was awesome too, and set up very quickly — they were patient with our guests who also arrived early (grrr) and efficient the entire time.
What touched me most was having the head person check in on me several times during the reception to make sure I had a glass of lemonade and that I’d eaten. If she hadn’t done so, I honestly would have missed eating or drinking for the entire 4 hours.
And like I said, the food — we did an appetizer buffet — was tasty and quickly gobbled up. The iced tea and lemonade and coffee were good (and I’m a coffee snob!), and they did a wonderful job with bartending the wine we brought and serving the wedding cake (also externally purchased). I just felt such confidence that I could enjoy interacting with my guests while everything was being handled.
Act 3 is such a pleasure to work with — I know I’m gushing, but it’s true. And very reasonably priced as well.

Words cannot express how amazing Act 3 Catering was! From the minute I contacted them for a tasting they were incredibly accommodating and helpful! I have already referred them to many of my friends and family.
The food was delicious! We have had so many compliments about it! The servers were so helpful. All night they made sure I had my drink of choice in my hand. They also made sure my family members were well taken care of all night as well as the bridal party. They did our rehearsal brunch as well as our wedding and I have zero complaints. You would be a fool not to use them as your caterer!

ACT 3 catered my wedding at Sanders Estate, and everything about the experience — the food, service and staff — was superb!
They were the only catering company we looked at that sat down and did a personal tasting with my fiancé and me. The prime rib was to-​die-​for, and our veggie friends said the portobello mushrooms were delicious. Donna and Janice were so easy to work with and very knowledgeable throughout the entire process, and the service staff and bartenders the day of the wedding provided excellent customer service. Highly recommend ACT 3 if you’re looking for high caliber food and service for a reasonable price!

We chose Act 3 Catering out of a list of preferred vendors for our venue Laurel Creek Manor. Not only were the staff incredibly friendly during the open house, but during the event they were nothing but wonderful. They cooked the food well and made sure everyone was satisfied. After the ceremony the staff asked my husband and I if we needed any beverages. In addition, they personally served us during the reception and provided us with any refills.
We had a pleasure working with Donna and would recommend Act 3 to anyone wanting great food and service at their wedding.

ACT3 was chosen from my venue’s list of preferred vendors. THEY DID AN AMAZING JOB! They were attentive to me and my groom. They worked hard and kept everything going smoothly.
We have gotten tons of comments that the food and service were amazing.
They always seemed like they were on our side– they suggested a kids buffet since we were to have many children attending– it’s easier and cheaper! they suggested a money saving option!
Everyone that I dealt with was so wonderful and it was a great feeling to be so confident in my choice on the day of.

I went for a taste testing with my friend for her wedding. Their location is somewhat secluded but easy to find if mapquested. Their presentation for a simple tasting was fabulous! Loved the dishes the food was served on, so modern & neat looking. We tried the Chicken Parm which was sooooooooo yummy! OMG, I loved it! The salad they served us had their own special dressing that was absolutely delicious!
We weren’t able to taste any of the pastries since the baker wasn’t in that day.
All in all, she ended up hiring them for her wedding so we had a filling dinner on her wedding night. Everyone raved about the food & how delicious it was.
Dare I say it? I would use them for MY own wedding, whenever that is. lol, & that says a whole lot.

I order lunch through Act 3 Catering at least once a week, I am a sales rep and most of the lunch orders go to different locations. They have never been late and the delivery driver always sets the lunch up for a nice appearance. The service is incredible and the food is consistently fresh.
I usually order salads and sandwhiches. Yummy salad selection, a nice variety to appeal to everyone.
I have tried their warm dishes. Lasagna (vegie option and meat), Enchiladas, Taco Bar, meatballs… all of it has been great!
They will deliver everything you need, serving spoons, tongs, etc. Assorted bottles of water and sodas, desserts, the have you covered.
They are always a hit. I chose them for every lunch that I cater because of their consistency.

As an Executive assistant I have worked with several caterers, vendors etc. For this years corporate holiday party I made arrangements for the Clise Mansion in Redmond and I chose Act 3 from their list of preferred caterers. Clise Mansion and the event planners were a total pain to work with, however Act 3 Catering saved me! From the Start Elizabeth Williams was wonderful, I put as much of the set up work as I could on the catering staff so I wouldn’t have to give the mansion a penny over what I absolutely had to. She communicated very well with excellent follow up. The menu was fantastic, the table set ups were pretty and the holiday buffet decorations were gorgeous. Elizabeth even showed up personally for part of our event even though she wasn’t scheduled! I was very impressed with the staffs professionalism, the food was absolutely mouthwatering, they adapted very well to any special or last minute requests. I received so many compliments on my event and I know I can thank Elizabeth, Wendy and the staff for that. They made it SO EASY. Definitely recommend!

Act 3 came highly recommended from our wedding location, which required we choose from a list of preferred vendors. We visited their booth at the Wedding Show in Seattle and were impressed by the owners and displays they showed there. We were invited to and attended an Open House held at their facility and were able to taste many different dishes to consider as possibilities for our event. All the food was delicious!
Because times are tough and we are broke (like everyone else), we wanted to be sure we got the best deal for our money for our wedding (catering is expensive!) so we did interview a few other caterers and were impressed with others as well, though in the end we went with Act 3, thinking that a larger outfit would provide less hassle and more professionalism as opposed to some of the single-​person operated companies (which were quite a bit less expensive!). We splurged and paid a little more, in turn, expecting a little more.
Let me start with the PROS: Excellent food! Beautiful displays on their catering tables and with the food. They obviously take great pride in making a statement with their arrangements. Let me recommend the Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms. Seriously — SO GOOD!
OK, so here are the CONS: Now, I do realize this is my wedding, but I don’t consider myself a Bride-​zilla to any extent, so I feel I’m taking a fairly open stance on my opinions here. My wedding was not, by any means, ruined by these people. I’m just commenting on how they underwhelmed and why —
Communication leading up to our event was awful. When we signed on with Act 3, the girl in charge of our account put together our package and emailed over the details for our event. Any time we wanted to make any changes, I made sure I sent them over in writing via email. Most times it would take several emails before the changes were fully adjusted on our bid. I think this person was let go from the company, so we were switched to another account manager. Same deal. Any time we would call, if anyone other than our account manager answered the phone, they were unable to answer questions or provide us any info whatsoever. So frustrating.
Food — I did say the food was delicious. It was! We still get comments from guests telling us how much they enjoyed it. However, the chicken dish we received was not the chicken dish we asked for. We specifically requested a certain chicken dish from the Open House that we attended. We emailed, called, and had in-​person meetings about this chicken (seriously!) and were assured that they were clear on which recipe we wanted. No dice. Super bummed.
Service — when we arrived at our event, my husband met up with the bartender to be sure everything was set and to ask him where he wanted the kegs to be delivered. The bartender responded that he wasn’t aware that we were having kegs and didn’t have the right equipment for that. This was another thing we emailed, called and met in person about. They obviously didn’t communicate internally to him about this before he showed up to bartend. Not something the bride or groom should have to deal with in the 11^th hour. Arrgghh.
Also re: service — It was time to cut the cake. The announcement had been made. Bride and groom are standing at the cake table. Cameras are poised. But where are the serving utensils? After about 5 minutes of trying to track down an Act 3 employee, and us standing with fake smiles glued to our confused faces, our DJ finally ran back to the kitchen area and grabbed a knife for us to use. Still don’t know where the Act 3 employees were (besides the ones chatting amongst themselves at the bar). Not cool.
All in all, the things we were disappointed in went unnoticed by our guests, so I guess I can’t complain too much. It just sucks to spend so much money to have something put together and professionally executed, and have it fall below your expectations.
I might recommend Act 3 to someone else, but probably not anytime soon. I feel I overpaid for what I received.

So interesting that Lynette H. and Ann D. joined Unilocal in September 2009 and felt so compelled to rave about Act3 in their first reviews ever, just 2 days after my so-​so review! My opinion of Act3 just went down another star, for what I think are 2 obvious reasons.

We were initially drawn to Act 3 because our wedding location only wanted Preferred Vendors. Their prices are really good, food is delicious, and their wait staff is commendable.
The problem I have with Act 3 is their financing guy, Francis. We had two families joining together to pay for this meal, so two separate credit cards. Not only did he mess up, he overcharged one of the them double what it was. When my husband called to put a fraud alert, he challenged it without question. Working with him has been such a hassle we had to get the manager of the business involved to straighten things out. Thank God he recognized the fatal flaw in Francis’ game: not taking good enough notes on what the customer actually wanted!
Francis. You suck.
