New heat pump and A/​C installed, just a few weeks from quote to install, they have installed and serviced a furnace in the past and now this upgrade to heat pump, professional service, good people, reliable, reasonable cost, no reason to try anyone else.

Brennan has been doing our electrical for the past year and I have been so impressed. We originally needed help when upgrading our kitchen and then again when we needed to upgrade our panel. They are thorough and fully explain how and why in terms both my husband and I can understand. They always go the extra mile to ensure we are happy. Quality work, good prices, great people. I can’t recommend them enough.

Ah the joys of being a homeowner… Radiant heating is what this home and 5 other townhomes came with. What is it? In my unknowledgeable way to explain it, it is a way to have warm floors for my cold tootsies all year round and somehow also be energy efficient. Ooooh, sounds heavenly, right? It is until you learn that the tubing used, Kitec, is of the cheapest quality and every one of my neighbors has had theirs burst over the years and mines is a bomb just ticking away.
So, I found Brennan on Angie’s List and read all their reviews here on Unilocal as well. Pretty up and down so you bet I was nervous. What they said they would do was to replace the wall tubes but decommission the floor tubes. (In order to replace the floor tubing, they would have had to tear up my main living room floor…$$$$$$$ so, no thank you. Gone would be my warm tootsies but that’s what Uggs are for, but also my worry that my tubing would burst any minute.
Well, their employees, Mark and a buddy were great. They were timely, courteous, friendly and excellent communicators. They had to cut a ton of holes but did so in the least cutting a hole way. …They tidied up after themselves everyday. For the work done to all three floors of my home, it was under 8K. ***They do NOT fix the holes though. You have to hire a drywall person**** That is what Victor is here in my house doing right now. I’ll post a review after all is said and done about him and his company, Jeffco.
I would recommend these two to anyone needing plumbing work done. It’s a big, stressful and expensive deal and they come backed by me.

I called for an appointment to have Brennan come out and look at our ducts, since our back bedroom wasn’t getting any heat. They scheduled an appointment and were on time. The tech looked at our ducts and it turned out we had dampers installed inside the duct work. He adjusted them and Voila! we had heat!
We had considered doing a duct test, which would have cost us, but after looking at our set up, he recommended against it and didn’t charge for the service call. I was so pleased with the service we received, that I will happily call them again for any repairs or issues.

I called Brennan because I was referred to them by a friend. The technician Russ came out and was incredibly helpful. Diagnosed the problem immediately, showed me a couple of things I could do with my settings on the thermostat to save money and maximize efficiency of my heat pump. I was going to just buy a new furnace and he was so helpful in giving me expert advice and talked me off a huge cliff!!! So thankful!

I called Aaron from Brennan Electric on Friday because one of my rentals was having an issue with partial power. Aaron answered immediately, and I kid you not, was at my rental within 20 – 30 minutes. He quickly diagnosed that the problem was with the PUD (the issue was with the power coming into the house).
I contacted the PUD and they told me to have my tenant turn off power immediately. I turns out that somewhere along the line before I purchased the house, the connections on the roof were done wrong.
Aaron’s quick availability not only got my tenant back with full power, but according to the PUD tech, avoided a very possible fire. I’m very thankful to Aaron and Brennan Electric for their great service and look forward to using them again!

We called Brennan with a blown circuit board in our furnace.
Mid December with a new baby and my husband was out of town. What a nightmare.
They got someone out early the next morning.
Our furnace is old and the part needed to come from back east over the weekend.
Sean pulled some strings and got it overnight and we are up and running.
Super nice guy, gave me contact info for any questions while we waited for the part.
The office is very professional, it’s impressive how efficient they work. That amount of professionalism is rare these days.

Wow. Well we had a gas fireplace installed less than 6 months ago and the remote receiver MELTED. We called to have them come out and replace the box, which should be under warranty and which we were GUARANTEED would not melt when we asked during install (we thought it seemed absurd to put a plastic box in a fireplace). They said they no longer work on fireplaces and refused to come out and service the system they just installed. Also couldn’t offer help on where we might be able to received help. Horrible service and faulty products, I will advise everyone I know to not use this place, would give them a negative rating if I could.

l had Brennan install a new gas furnace. The estimator told me they would be doing a ductwork leakage test and evaluation after the furnace was installed. They didn’t do one because I have some ducts that aren’t connected to the vents. l payed $ 3450. to get a new furnace now they want another $ 1850. to connect the ductwork, seal and insulate. What kind of company is this that takes advantage of people. l’m sure the estimator knew that all the ducks weren’t hooked up to the vents. Not happy customer.

After several quotes, all being in the same rough neighborhood money wise, we chose Brennan. They showed up on time for the quote and didn’t need a three hour window like some others (get to that in a minute). I like to pick a company off of the service I receive. The personal experience, not only off of price. Were they the cheapest? No. Were they the most? No. I found the Man who estimated the job, who I cannot remember the name off :-(personable friendly and accurate. The young men who came out had several years of experience and handled the job in the ¾ hours they thought it should take.
As far as competition? Snohomish heating and A/​C, they are the ones who were an hour late for a three hour window, scheduled a follow up (for the real quote?) on labor day, then called to reschedule, then no showed. To top it off, they never returned a call or email regarding my concerns or complaints. Years ago I chose them for a repair based off of the service from the owner. I don’t know if he has retired, or has just stepped back but one thing is certain. The culture of Snohomish heating and A/​C doesn’t revolve customer service. Brennan gets the 5 stars, Couldn’t be happier with the selection. No over pressured sales, here is what we offer and promise and they delivered. Thank you guys

I’ve upgraded Brennan to three stars. I was not pleased with the install work and I was actually the one who discovered they incorrectly set the mini-​dip pins on the control board for a single-​stage furnace, rather than a high-​efficiency two-​stage model.
They also, I found out recently, switched the exterior air exhaust and intake, which explains why my siding has been damaged… when the furnace runs it’s constantly blowing warm, wet condensate right back toward my house.
But I must say I was quite impressed today when they came out and did a great job fixing the swapped exhaust/​intake pipes. No charge, and we’re talking six years after the original install… so, that’s pretty darn good.
Just make sure the install team isn’t rushing through the job like the crew who tackled mine…

We called Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning because of their good reviews. Unfortunately our experience with the company was not good.
Our air conditioning was working downstairs, but even though the system seemed to be working fine, it wasn’t blowing through the upstairs vents. Brennan sent a technician out 3 times. Even though we said we had recently had the ducts cleaned and that we thought it might be a problem with a damper or the ducts, the tech insisted that could not be the problem and refused to look. He was nice, professional, and eager to help, but unable to diagnose the problem. He said he would discuss it with his boss and have him get back to us, but we never heard from them again.
Fortunately we called a second company. When the technician from the second company arrived and we explained what was happening, he immediately said «It sounds like a problem in the ductwork, I need to get into the crawl space.» When we opened the crawl space access, there was a duct right at the opening that was split apart. He also found a damper that was broken, and additional places that the ducts were separated (they were installed badly using LOTS of dried out duct tape). So, instead of cooling our upstairs, all of the cold air was going into the crawl space. They did a great job of repairing/​replacing the damper and ductwork, and the system works better than ever now! Sadly, by calling Brennan first, we wasted the cost of a service call. Unfortunately for them, by being unable to diagnose the problem, Brennan lost what turned out to be a very expensive repair job.

Good price for furnace install; really disappointing service.
Been dealing with these guys — and getting the run around — for a few months now to have some of the PVC outlet pipes re-​routed. Even when I showed that the moisture from the exhaust pipe was dripping onto the electrical box I got a half-​hearted «we’ll have our instal manager come take a look» which is continually followed by radio silence.
Went with Brennan to replace our ancient furnace because they had the best price point, a knowledgable/​seasoned sales rep and I liked the product line they carried (Bryant). Had a few other companies bid higher for lesser brands. Initial meeting was good, took the time to explain the options and basic installation procedure, and got us scheduled in quickly despite being February.
The furnace has been great so far, except for the issue of poorly routed pipes which is preventing me from finishing that area of the basement.
Shouldn’t need to take a day off work to supervise «professionals» (that’s being generous for the early 20-​somethings they sent out to do the install); but in hindsight that’s what needed to happen. Make sure they explain exactly what they plan to do in case the ‘easiest way’ is what they have in mind.
Came highly recommended, but after all the run-​around unfortunately I can’t do the same.

I’m not sure why Costco has chosen to hang their reputation on this company. It started with the salesman told me I would get a top of the line system including a thermostat that could be controlled wirelessly when the installers arrived and told me the wireless was a Bluetooth unit and would cost an additional $ 150 that should have been my first clue what I was dealing with. (I have since gone to Home Depot and found that same brand thermostat with an identical appearance and user interface with no need of any kind of blue tooth) I later contacted the salesman and asked what happened and he had forgotten to include that in my price quote. Once they had arrived on site they immediately up sold me on a new furnace for an additional $ 3000 + dollars.
The two installers went to work and a manager (some form of their boss anyway) I liked all the guys but at some point in the day the two installers just quit working and literally sat outside my house for two hours while their boss continued to work. They left at 5:00 the their poor boss continued to work at my house until almost 10:00 pm. Keep in mind I was initially told the install would be done around 3:00 pm and with the additional of the furnace they’d be done around 6:00. Finally when I’d got it done the last guy there told me he ran out of refrigerant when charging the system, but he thought it was enough.
It wasn’t. My house at BEST has only stayed 10 degrees cooler than the outside. I called and and few days later they sent a tech out. Again nice enough guy but he relayed 0 information to my wife about what he had done. I called the tech and I informed me the refrigerant was low and he had added more. I called on the weekend — closed– As I type this it is 75 outside my home according to the weather channel whoever does the temp for iPhones and a separate thermometer. However the installed thermostat is reading 90 outside and 80 inside my home. The thermostat says the AC is on but who knows I am getting only sort of cool air out of the registers. Right now I am a super frustrated customer who wishes he had read the other Unilocal reviews beforehand choosing to go through this company. maybe if everything is made right I will update all of this.
Costco will also be getting a call lodging my complaint.

I had a heat pump system (including ductwork) installed in October of 2013 through a special that Costco was running. The whole process got off to a pretty rocky start when my appointment was scheduled with a salesperson for October 1^st. I took the day off from work and waited for the installers to arrive. When they didn’t show up on time I called to check with the office and was told my appointment was scheduled for the 8^th. I thought it was my mistake until the salesperson who sold me the system called shorly after I spoke to the office to let me know he was on his way to my house. He was equally surprised to find out about the appointment change.
The following week the system was installed. The installers were great. Unfortunately when I had the city come out and do a final inspection on the system there two code corrections that needed to be done. I called the Installation Manager, Eddie, and let him know what corrections needed to be done. He seemed annoyed but went ahead and scheduled an appointment to have them completed. Sadly I had to call him two more times about the corrections because they weren’t done properly.
Today I had some additional ductwork and another vent installed. Again, the installers were great. Unfortunately when the work was done I was asked for my credit card number to be written on paperwork that the installers would then take back to the office. I was not comfortable putting all of my credit card information on paperwork that would be carried around in an installation truck all day so I asked if I could pay the office directly over the phone. The installer didn’t think it would be a problem so I went ahead and called the office. I was told that the person that takes payment for Costco customers, Mercedes, was busy and that she would need to call me back. So I asked the installers whether they had to wait at my home until they called me back and I made payment. They called their manager, Eddie, and he asked to speak to me. When I got on the phone he explained to me (in a very condescending tone) that I can either pay with by check or by credit card recording the information onto the paperwork the installers had. I told him that I did not feel comfortable doing this. He then asked if he could take my credit card information I told him that I was not comfortable with that either and I would prefer to wait for their office person, Mercedes to call back. He then put a woman on the phone who said she could take my credit card information. When I asked who I was speaking to she ignored me and kept talking. I asked again and she said she was Mercedes (for some reason I doubt it was her). She assured me she would shred my credit card information once she entered it online and it was run successfully. I was really annoyed by this time and also felt bad for the installers who had to wait for all this drama to be over so they could go to their next job, so I went ahead and gave her the information.
I would not recommend doing business with this company. This is unfortunate because the installers that I dealt with were very professional and friendly This is the only reason I gave them two stars. I am seriously considering contacting Costco and letting them know about the extremely poor customer service this company provides. They really should be more careful about who they partner with to provide service to their customers.

We needed a form for our power company filled out & signed by a technician. Day-​of install the techs were running behind and said that we could have Brennan fill it out later. We’re five weeks after install and after seven emails to Brennan we have still not received a resolution or a returning of the form.
EDIT: In my first version of this review I erroneously indicated it had been eight weeks since our install and we had sent ten emails to Brennan. My wife has since corrected me and the information has been updated. This correction was prompted by a Brennan follow up email over this Unilocal review which included a threat of litigation for the «mistruths and slander» written in this space. UPDATE 1: The paperwork issue was been resolved, only after two months and a posted complaint on Unilocal.
UPDATE 2: We just had to schedule our one-​year maintenance for the new system Brennan installed last year. Our salesperson told us to look for the $ 70 Groupon and that would take care of the $ 185 annual maintenance costs. We come to find out the Groupon is only for the furnace, not the heat pump, and the entire inspection/​service costs $ 229. And the replacement air filter, which needs to be done annually, is $ 130. Our salesman told us neither of these things. A $ 360 annual maintenance cost completely negates any potential system savings we would have realized by this upgrade. Our Brennan salesperson neglected to tell us these things as we weighed our decision to purchase. If we could do this all over again, we would not use Brennan and would never recommend them to anyone.

Steer clear. The reviews are accurate. Customer service is the last thing on their mind. Couldn’t even get a return phone call yesterday when the installer showed up 4 hours outside his window and wasn’t prepared to do the whole job. No secret that their prices are high but if I pay that I expect someone to pretend they career at least.

They did an electric to gas conversion for our hot water and furnaces as well as installing air conditioning. They were excellent to deal with throughout the entire process. The estimator was very knowledgeable and thorough. The installers were punctual, friendly and conscientious. They never left us without heat or hot water during the 3 day project. They were very good about protecting our floors and cleaning up each day. I’m very glad we chose to go with Brennan even though their pricing was a little higher than other bids we had received. It was a very positive experience and the experience and professionalism we received from their entire team was well worth the little extra we paid.

I am a member of Angie’s list and so when a business gets good marks on AL I feel comfortable in contacting them. Our water heater was on it’s way out so we called Brennan to get an estimate on installing a new unit. I liked that they were located not too far from me and it wouldn’t be too much trouble to call them out. I told them what was wrong with the unit and briefly consulted with the guy they sent out. He took a brief look around the furnace room then wrote up an estimate for a new unit to be installed. Roughly it was a $ 500 hot water heater and $ 1,000 to install it. He left me with the estimate and left. All in all it was about a 20 minute visit. I soon received a bill for $ 110! They charge $ 99 just to come out and talk to you (plus ten bucks tax!). Needless to say I didn’t go with them and I would not be able to recommend them to anybody, not because of the work they do (I’m sure they do fine work) but because of the fact that they charge you to consider doing business with them.

Back in March of 2014, we decided to replace the furnace in our home, as it was originally installed back in the early sixties and we were sure it would go out at any time. We had 3 – 4 different furnace companies come out and give their sales pitch and when everything was said and done, we went with Brennan for the new furnace. They were more expensive than the others, but my wife felt that the sales person was a reflection of the company and she liked the sales person. We scheduled an install date of April 18, and paid half up front before they would start work. The work went as I would have expected for the better part of the day. The old furnace was removed, exhaust and intake air lines were routed, and the furnace was going in. Towards the end of the day, one of the installers came up stairs yelling fire! Everyone out, FIRE!
I ran down to the lower level of our split level home to find the area between my kitchen floor and laundry room ceiling was fully on fire. While drilling an exploratory hole from outside so they could route the drain, the installer ran a drill bit through two power lines that ran through the space and caused the wires to arc together and start the fire. While the two installers were running around doing who knows what, I grabbed the fire extinguisher I kept in my garage and emptied it, but no real luck. I then turned off the power to the house and went back in with the garden hose, finally getting the fire under control. When the fire department showed up, they took their saws all and proceeded to cut the sheetrock out. It was during that activity that the water main, also in the space between the floor and ceiling was severed, causing even more damage due to the flooding.
As soon as I knew the fire was out, I called Brennan and asked to speak to a manager. I was connected with one, and when I told him I needed someone out besides the installers to assess the situation, I was informed they would be sending an electrician out to restore power. I assured him that the damage was extensive and he should either come out, or send someone of authority in his place, and again was dismissed. It took the electrician 1 minute to walk in, and walk back out to make a call back to his boss. «There is no way I can fix this» was his response.
An hour later I had two managers at my home, assuring me they would do everything in their power to make things right. Their installers fixed the severed water line, and the electrician deadheaded the wires, leaving us with a house full of smoke, water, and no power for over half. The next two nights were spent in a hotel.
We had our insurance company and Brennan’s insurance company (Federated) come out to assess the damage, and based on their assurances, my insurance said it would be best to just go with Federated, since they said there was no doubt as to Brennan’s liability. Federated gave us 4 companies they trust to do an accurate estimate to clean up the smoke and fire damage and said it would be up to us to find a contractor to do the repairs. I submitted an estimate for 12,000.00 for clean up and Federated said that since the fire was technically downstairs, they were not willing to have the upstairs cleaned and only authorized 6,000 after much going back and forth. I then got an estimate for doing the repairs, a little over 20,000.00 and submitted it to Federated insurance, and asked if after their adjustment to the clean up cost, should I get several estimates, and I was assured it would not be needed. I had the contractor start the repairs and notified the insurance company that they had started and I had paid them 10,000 up front. It took the insurance company 3 weeks to reply, and when they did, they said they did not authorize any work to begin and had some issues with the original quote. For several months we had no electricity in half of our house, and I wanted to get the work done. The repairs cost 20,000.00 and when I submitted my paid invoice, Federated offered me a quote from Brennan stating they could have done all the electrical work for no cost to me, and the rest of the damage for 4,000.00.
Maybe it’s just me, but if someone keys my car, I don’t think I am going to hire them to do the repair. To date I am out well over 30,000.00 and have yet to see a dime from the insurance company. At one point, I offered to settle for the 20,000.00 I paid for the repairs, and the remaining balance owed to Brennan (about 3,000.00) and was told Brennan was not interested in settling. I agreed last week that I would accept 13,000.00, since the insurance company said it was all they were willing to pay, regardless of what it cost me.
Bottom line, Brennan could have stepped up at anytime and done the right thing, but they stood back and watched while the insurance company had their way with us. What a messed up way to do business…

I bought a Groupon for a furnace check from Brennan. The tech, Russ, was on time and nice, but after doing the furnace check, said that he needed to shut off the furnace and hot water tank because there was carbon monoxide leaking from the hot water tank. There is a carbon monoxide detector in the laundry room right next to the garage, which has never detected anything. When I told him this, he said it has to get to a high level for the detector to go off. Seriously? That’s when I knew this guy was not being honest. He said I needed to get a new furnace and a new hot water tank for a whopping $ 3685 for the furnace and $ 1455 for the water tank. Ummm… no thanks. I’ll get a second opinion!
Fast forward to honest company coming over. I didn’t prompt the new tech on anything… just let him check everything out. He said that the furnace just needed a small repair ($ 57) and the water heater was fine. After the new tech was all done and gave a clean bill of health to both the furnace and the hot water tank, I asked about the problems Russ had mentioned and the possibility of carbon monoxide leaking. He confirmed that there was no leak, and I also checked with my own carbon monoxide detector. When I told him that I had Brennan come out and who the tech was, he said «Yeah…those guys sell a lot of new furnaces.» I do NOT appreciate scare tactics! Beware!
Reading the other reviews, it looks like this is a common complaint.

I had a full basement remodel done on our home in 2007 with brand new furnace installed by Brennan Heating and A/​C; they asked if I wanted A/​C installed, said it would cost $ 6000.00!!!
«Update» Six years later its 2013, and I had A/​C installed in my house from a different contractor and cost $ 4000.00.
Can someone tell me why six years later it was cheaper to have A/​C installed in my home?

We are very happy with our new heat pump\air conditioning system. We went with x17 and two stage air handler. The system is very efficient and quiet. So far our power bill has gone down by about $ 25 per month. We purchased it through Costco and Brennan did the installation. Everyone that we dealt with at Brennan was friendly and courteous from the salespeople to the office staff and technicians. Several weeks after the installation we could not get the heat to come on. It was late in the evening. We called Brennan and they had a technician here within an hour. We have had no problems since. We are very pleased with the new system and the service we received. Would recommend Costco and Brennan to anyone looking for a new heating\cooling system or to have your current one serviced.
