Lance Timmerman, DMD

My review is regarding BOTOX only! Not on Dr. Timmerman’s dental work.
I have been having issues with clenching at night for years and it started to cause pressure and some headaches when I wake up over the past 6 months. When I heard that botox could be a helpful treatment to help ease clenching by freezing and weakening the masseter (jaw) muscles, I wanted to go to a REAL dentist who also does botox because I felt that they would have more expertise on clenching, bite issues and the jaw muscle itself.
The office is upstairs in the «University of Phoenix» building near Fort Dent. There is a good sized parking lot which was close to full both times I visited. The office is clean and pleasant. It is definitely meant to be used as dental office only. The office receptionists were friendly and accommodating. Once I sat down they began discussing Donald Trump favorably while I waited for my appointment which was rather unnerving.
Dr. Timmerman is very knowledgeable and seems to enjoy sharing what he knows about botox and bruxism. He has a book (featuring his practice) that he hands out to new clients. I will say he looks quite different than his picture on this site and in the book. He should update his photos.
I think I was expecting to be treated more as a dental patient with a jaw issue who needed botox for a medical purpose rather then as a cosmetic procedure client. He did not examine my bite or the effects clenching has had on my teeth. But did explain dental procedures I could do along with the botox if needed. He up-​sold me on a full syringe of botox because this would take several treatments and it would be cheaper to get more. He Injected my jaw right there in the dental chair. It was more painful than other botox treatments I’ve had but that might be because I’ve never had my jaw done before. The dental chair is visible to anyone talking to a receptionist at the front desk. I could hear another customer talking about 10 ft behind me the whole time. If I turned my head I could make eye contact. I would have preferred more privacy for this procedure.
The days following… I had swelling and bruising in my jaw that was noticeable to others, I have never had this happen to me before. When I returned for my second dose I was told that this is normal for this area which is completely possible. After my second masseter botox treatment I decided that I would just use the rest of the syringe in my forehead and not come back to this office for botox again.
I will continue going to a dermatologist if I continue to get botox for my clenching in the future. There is nothing gained from getting a botox injection from a dentist. I prefer the atmosphere, technique, and specialization a Dermatology office has to offer.

Great place to get a first or third opinion! This will be the last place you go because he will answer all your questions and alleviate any fears! Highly trained according to my research and great reviews. I got a consult for possible veneers and now I feel comfortable for the first time ever going forward with a plan!

Nice blanket cover. Just how you say you fixed my tooth and you never touched it is amusing. Your assistant did a temporary fill on it while I got a second and 3^rd opinion just to be sure.
All other dentists said they would never grind my tooth down for a crown due to a small chip.
The previous repair lasted 12yrs.
Only reason I came in to see you was on a referral (which I regret).
And. yes. I paid for your 5min consultation time. $ 160. And the temp fill by your assistant (not even a DMD) was nowhere close to smooth or flush.

Everyone in Dr. Timmermans office is genuinely friendly, pleasant and professional. Dr. Timmerman is very knowledgeable, thorough and so caring of his patients. He is courteous of your time and budget. He doesn’t ever try to upsell you on expensive dental work, but rather, listens to your needs and offers reasonable solutions. I’m extremely happy and impressed with the services provided by Dr. Timmerman and Angela, his assistant. If you are like me and everyone else, pressed for time and on a budget, but need and want the best dental care, I promise you… you will find Dr. Timmerman and everyone at Lance Timmerman Dental, offering you the great service you’d expect. The office is beautiful and has a very relaxing feel. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be called in after checking in and there has never been a down time waiting on Dr. Timmerman to come in to see you. Dr. Timmerman and the staff are always prompt in getting you taken care of and they truly value your time! I have yet to be disappointed by Dr. Timmerman and his team. Thank you, Dr. Timmerman! I absolutely LOVE my new smile.

Let me start by saying that I am a veteran to the dental chair. I was once told that my teeth had a «tough childhood» and I have spent my adult years trying to correct those issues. I have had military dentists, managed care dentists and private family dentists. I can honestly say that I have not had a better dentist in my life and this is the reason I’m writing this review.
I initially contacted Dr. Timmerman to correct a cosmetic issue with my two front teeth. I was unhappy with their appearance due to a large amount of cosmetic bonding attached to them. They looked like chicklets only worse because they were uneven and discolored. During my initial consultation, Dr. Timmerman took his time to explain all my options. I was very comfortable with his knowledge and expertise. He showed me examples of his work and we decided that the six-​month smile system would address the cosmetic issues I presented. Approximately six months later, my braces were off and my teeth looked great! I was astounded that such a change occurred in such a small amount of time.
Dr. Timmerman is also wonderful with general dentistry. I have had several fillings and crowns replaced and I was completely comfortable throughout the process. The final product always looks natural and cosmetically pleasing.
Lastly, If you are in pain or afraid of the dentist, Dr. Timmerman will do everything he can take make you comfortable and take care of the issue. I feel lucky to have found such a great dentist and dental staff!!!

Had a Groupon or Living Social deal for botox. I was super nervous for the procedure itself and even more nervous about some of the bad reviews. It was an AWESOME experience, well, as awesome as getting stuck with a needle in your forehead could be. The staff was very kind and professional. Dr. Timmerman was very pleasant as well. Answered all my questions and put me at ease immediately. They got me in right at my scheduled appointment time. I was seen quickly (but not rushed). It was a great experience and I will be a return customer, coupon or no coupon. Very satisfied with everything.

Dr. Timmerman is GREAT!
His practice makes going to the dentist feel more like a mini day spa rather than another dreaded dental appointment.
Dr. Timmerman is always very helpful and answers all of my questions. He makes sure his patients are as comfortable as possible by providing warm neck pillows, paraffin hand treatments, and fresh baked cookies! The cookies may be an alterior motive for repeat business, but I am not complaining! ;)
I first saw Dr. Timmerman several years back when I worked near his office, although I loved going there, I changed jobs and tried a Dentist closer to home, he was not the same AT ALL! I am happy to say I am back at Dr. Timmerman’s despite the drive, and I will remain his patient for the life of his practice!
I recommend him to all of my family and friends!

I was recently visiting family in Washington state and broke a tooth at dinner. This is pretty embarassing, especially for a dentist! I know a lot of dentists around the country from various continuing education courses and when I searched online for a dentist, I recognized Dr. Timmerman as a smart guy that I had studied with at several courses. We don’t know other well, but he went out of his way to make sure that I was taken care of right away. I’m sure this must have been inconvenient for him but he never complained and he was even funny! His treatment was first rate, by the way. I wish I could have worked on my own mouth but since I couldn’t, I was glad Dr. Timmerman was available. I highly recommend him, and, as a dentist, I ought to know.

Dr. Timmerman has been my dentist for many years now. He is simply the best. Like most I dreaded going to the dentist, anticipating potential pain and a push for unwanted or needed treatments. Dr. Timmerman offered me solutions and options and is always ready to answer my questions, all without any pain during treatment.
Holly and Alicia are the best and keep me on track with my insurance and what I am having done. It is clear they care about their patients. I especially like being able to communicate with the office either by phone or email, as often times email is more convenient for me during the work hours.
I couldn’t be happier with the care I receive and would recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist who cares about the patient and what you want and need.

this place is a major headshaker. they NEVER answer there phone so you can even schedule an appointment. That is a clear sign the office manager or the doctor does not have their shit together. I have been calling during business hours ALL DAY. not one person will pick up and you get this standard voicemail about waiting on other customers… blah, blah… well, obviously they are a pain in the ass to schedule anyway. I am looking at 15−20k in cosmetic… I will be taking my business ELSEWHERE

Here’s my story.
I bought a living social voucher to get my teeth whitened at Lance Timmerman and have been trying to get an appointment to go in before it expires in a month. Mr. Timmerman’s office have been extremely inflexible, letting me know that even if I schedule it before it expires I must come into the office to do the procedure before the expiry date of the voucher. I can understand scheduling before it expires but why do I have to come in before my voucher expires? The offices are only open from Mon — Thur and you are all the way out in Tukwila. I live in Seattle. The assistant even went on to let me know that they aren’t making any money off living social customers … so I guess I am a second class customer now just because I have a living social voucher.
It really looks like I’ve lost the $ 130 I’ve paid to get my teeth whitened unless I can fake being sick for a day and risk being fired. All in all an EXTREMELY BAD EXPERIENCE and I haven’t even stepped foot into the office just yet. Contrast this to an airline voucher I had a few years ago. When I couldn’t get a flight booked in time, they extended my voucher by three months and tried as best they could to work around my schedule. I have flown that airline many times after that just because of that one experience. That’s how you do business Mr Timmerman!
All in all an EXTREMELY BAD EXPERIENCE and I haven’t even stepped foot into the office just yet. I am looking forward to seeing the whole staff of this place working at a McDonalds some day … and yes I’d like fries with that!

I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. T. for over 10 years. He is one of the most conscientious thoroughly prepared individuals I know. His care and concern for people in general is a standard that anyone would admire. He has my highest respect and recommendations!

I interviewed Dr. Timmerman to make sure he was what I needed for a dentist — one who was fairly quick (my last dentist of 14 years was so nice but so slow that my jaw developed severe problems from several appointments in a row where I had to have my mouth open for so long due to a crown that repeatedly broke just as it was being seated… and I just couldn’t hack it anymore.)
I also have MS and pain affects me differently than other patients. I wanted to make sure my dentist understood this and would be willing to prescribe pain medication when needed. Dr. Timmerman said he understood and would be glad to have me as a patient, and I saw him for several years.
But he soon reneged despite meetings I arranged to remind him of my needs, and he was suddenly very hard to talk to. I got the feeling as time went by that his own needs were far and away more important to him and he seemed to have no qualms expressing this — could hardly wait to get rid of me in fact.
A secondary but definitely highly annoying aspect of his practice is the amount of reminders of appointments via email, cell phone, text message, and land line constantly coming in absurd. When I requested they cut back on these I was told it would be too much trouble as the doc handled these himself. The messages contradicted each other as well.
I even started to get the feeling that something was bothering the doctor — he seemed very unwilling to talk with me — only zipping in when the staff had me ready for him, doing his work (quickly, as I had requested, and this was good) — but it was perhaps a bit too good as I felt he was unavailable to have any kind of talk except the type where he told me what his position was and did not appear to listen to my concerns about our previous agreements being cast aside.
What finally made me decide to find a better dentist was when I had an emergency which the oral surgeon he’d referred me to for dental implants told me to go right then down to Dr. Timmerman for emergency treatment. The surgeon’s staff called ahead for me. I went to Dr. T.‘s, waited an hour or so, then got to talk to the receptionist who told me they would not be able to help me no matter what the surgeon thought about the immediate care needed… When I said I was disappointed that he refused to see me for a few minutes or even talk to me about what the problem was, I was blown off with a «sorry we can’t help you.» Tears of pain and disappointment were met with indifference.
I went home and wrote an email to Dr. T. about the problems I was having with his treatment (basically all the above), and how sad I felt that he didn’t seem to care about the emergency I was having.
What I got in return from Dr. T., who did not answer my specific questions, was a sentence fragment to the effect that I should seek treatment elsewhere. Was he having a bad day? Maybe, but I felt like poo on his shoe. I’d been polite and patient. I don’t write negative reviews for the whole web to see, but I don’t want others to go through what I did and end up spending a lot of time and money for pain and teeth nearly worse than when I started. For the latter read on.
After an exam with my lovely new dentist Dr. Minagawa I got the sickening news that new crowns from Dr. T. already need to be replaced due to a LOT of decay under them.
A few months before this I’d been to Dr. T. to tell him I had lots of insurance $ left to fix any remaining dental problems. He told me there was no work needed! I think Dr. T. done me wrong, and I don’t doubt others have felt the same.
He is capable of very good looking work, and he is fast. But nota bene my warnings about what may lurk under the work that looks so good… very nasty hidden decay may lurk there and you may not find out about it as quickly as I have.
Sorry, Dr. T., but every word is true and heart-​felt, and I hope it helps not only potential patients, but also you helps you see how your chair-​side manner affects those of us who depend (ed) on you for courteous and competent care.
Dr. Timmerman, my opinion that you care more about yourself than your patients has been proven by your rush to get your friends to quickly respond to try and negate my very valid concerns about the treatment I got.
It made me very sad that you further proved my critique by responding to my comments with a snarky and untrue snipe about me just wanting pain medicine from you. You know that isn’t true. You certainly aren’t more convenient than my MS docs, who I see once a month. You once again as I say in my critique — do not bother to address the patient’s concerns –the decay under my new crowns being the most disturbing and worthy of being pointed out in a review about you. No concern about that at all, I guess. Just quick action to get fake reviewers to help you out, and some mud slung at me to further protect yourself. You have shown that you deserve my 1 star review. How about some truth?
