Tried this place as it was very close to Doubletree suites. Great quality of food. Better than benihana in my opinion. The décor wasn’t as nice to support prices higher than benihana. Thus 4 stars.

Came to see my old friend, he use to work at mongo, long time ago in Houston. i am surprise he now became teppan chef. I ordered newyork steak and shrimp which came out not bad. The location, at the strip of mall which should be a strategic location. Service was okay, given seat roght away, i came on thurday night which was half full, but i didnt have a chance to meet him since i was with the other chef. steak and the rest of entrée was good, a bit more price than most steak house ive visits. Location is good but it is a bit far from central seattle where i seen alot of great place of interest. One significant different, they use garlic butter which kind of tasty upgrade more than other steak house. Parking are huge but kind of dark sight. Good for party and kids.

I used to be a fan of this place, but after tonight I won’t be returning or letting people know about this place. They have always been accommodating of allergies and the chef forgot about my seafood allergy. Which is excusable, but the restaurant failed to fix it. First, the chef wasn’t being careful about separating the shrimp from the rest of the food, then put it on top of my food on my plate. So they had to take my plate away. I ended up not eating, because the rest of my party was finished eating. So I did not end up eating a meal. The restaurant should have fixed the mistake by sending me home with my meal or rushed a meal out ASAP from the kitchen.

This place was pretty good overall. We were seated right away. The restaurant is split into two sections. We chose the sushi side, and the atmosphere was lacking(dark, quiet, awkward seating). The food was good. I don’t have any real complaints, but I also was not very impressed. If you want a good sushi spot in this area, go to Miyabi. It has a better Unilocal rating for a reason — it is much better than this place in every possible way.

Sadly I have had two bad experiences in a row my steak was cold when I got it after asking for Medium my first time there. Went for a friends birthday they had reservations and it was bad we waited for a half hour after our reserved time with the restaurant practically empty. Ordered a water it was only asked to be refilled at the end when we paid our check. Specifically asked for the birthday song and none was given. The shrimp appetizer wasn’t given even after asking rice wasn’t given until asked for i guess I had chicken with my SALT It was very bad I couldn’t understand or hear our chef he was silent dang near. A friend had something floating in her beer they just took it back and charged her for it anyway. It was bad I left so sad yet again. Bad service bad and food this time. I did see them give a good show to the other folks around us maybe I caught them on a bad day twice…

Don’t waste your money. Bad experience here last night. Started with seating us 30 minutes past our reservation time. The restaurant was maybe a third full at the time. Waitress was incompetent. I ordered a Kirin and she said they were out of the small, would the large one be ok. I asked the size of the large one and she said she had no idea. So I asked for the beer on tap. Most of the way through drinking it I realized there were several large chunks of debris in the bottom of the glass. Gross! I alerted the waitress and she took it away but did not comp it off our check. The waitress also informed us that they don’t do the shrimp appetizer anymore when we asked her about it. The chef was as quiet as a mouse and did no tricks. We saw other chefs tossing eggs around with the spatulas, making onion volcanos, tossing food into people’s mouths, and engaging the guests as I’m used to at a Japanese steak house. Our chef did NONE of that. We couldn’t tell if our chef was talking to us or himself. No one could hear a word. He messed up the orders of steak as far as preference for doneness. The chicken was soooooo salty you really could barely eat it. Waitress forgot our rice until the very end. Lastly, we told both the waitress and chef that we were there for a friend’s birthday. We saw other tables who were there for birthdays also, get a dessert and have a drum and tambourine brought out. Apparently out waitress forgot because they did nothing for us. 18% tip automatically added was a joke for the service we received here. Will never return and will warn all acquaintances to stay far away!

Made reservations for an entertaining birthday evening at this restaurant last night. Upon arrival they said they did not have a reservation in my name although I showed my email confirmation I received from a week prior. After waiting a half hour past our reservation time we were finally seated. Our waitress was very incompetent on many levels. Our chef was so quiet that no one at the table could hear what he was saying. We were unsure if he was talking to us or just mumbling to himself. The 5 guests at our table who did not order fried rice did not receive any rice until I asked the waitress where their rice was(this was well past the time the fried rice was served and eaten). When it came to the our chefs performance, I’m still trying to figure out where it was. The tables around us were definitely getting the expected experience… onion volcano, flying shrimp, and egg tricks. Once it came to our main dish, not only was the meat not cooked to guest’s liking, it was so salty that it was barely edible. Too add to this unpleasant experience, my friend found chunks of debris floating in her beer and they didn’t even comp it. RIDICULOUS! Last but not least, it was mentioned several times that we were there for my birthday from the hostess, to the waitress to our chef. As we heard the birthday celebrations going on at other tables all we were handed were our checks with a ridiculous gratuity in comparison to the service. I will never eat at this restaurant again! I think I’ll stick with Benihana or Tokyo Steakhouse if I want an all around great experience.

Mizu has the best sushi ever! I went there with my friends and we sat in the sushi bar. Sushi chef was a talented Asian guy who even made us special desserts. He was a funny, nice guy and made us feel very welcomed. They have a wide variety of fresh sashimi, nigiri and special rolls. I got one of the special rolls called firecracker and it was just so GOOD. The presentation was nicely done and it was spicy enough. We also got a spider roll, a dragon roll, a Lion King roll, and couple sashimis. They were so fresh they literally melt in my mouth! Service here is amazing, very attentive and polite. I love this place, definitely coming back.

We wanted some sushi, and Miyabi was packed so my significantly better half found this place online. We sat in the sushi bar, although there are also booths that have private TVs which looked like it would be fun to exploit. The place while not a «dive» has a bit of a grungy feel to it. Hard to explain and its not a bad thing, just an observation. This place is billed as a steakhouse, but we were just there for the sushi. The sushi here was completed surpassed my expectations. The quality of the fish is about as good as it gets. The rolls we had were fantastic as was the nigiri that we ordered(unagi is my favorite, and did not disappoint). Can’t recommend this place highly enough for the sushi. I would definitely be back when in the area.

My Hubby ate Tepanyaki here before and he said it was alright but fun to watch the chef cooked food for you and a lil overpriced. I am craving for sushi and we decided to give it a try and it was a lil disappointing I should have waited for a long line at Miyabi instead because it was great there. We drove there and it was all packed with Friday night hungry folk so we came here instead.
It was dead at the sushi bar no one s there and there s one Asian young sushi chef behind the bar. We ordered gyoza and combination tempura for appetizer. gyoza tasted like pre frozen from Costco but the tempura is the best thing for this dinner but still was not that great . I ordered the spider roll which was a fail the crab with thick batter tasted like they have cooked it and let sit there for a while before it was made in to a roll for me. The other roll is spicy tuna inside with salmon on top and I could not remember the name of it was better than spider roll but salmon is not fresh. Sushi here are big and cheaper than Miyabi but quality did not come with quality. I ordered Blue Hawaii cocktail which come with lots of ice and a lil boost not worth $ 8
The only good thing is the service. Our waitress is nice. This place looks old and like a run down restaurant . Sorry It does not worth my money and I won’t come back here

We had a couple of rolls but wanted to order more but we we’re told that they ran out of rice. How does a Sushi Bar run out of sushi rice?

We came for a late dinner last Monday and the food cooked on grill was okay, wished their ingredients were better and they had no taste. Please create or improve a better sauce in your grill cooking. By the time food came to our plate it burned. The only thing we love were the dragon rolls. Great texture. The best roll ever. The fire show experience was great, loved the presentation.

Came yesterday for the hibachi grill meal. The chef that cooked for us was really friendly and did well. Server was friendly and efficient. Ordered the Covington and poke salad. Omg sooooooo good. I highly recommend those, especially the poke salad. My husband ordered the chefs special and I had the seafood one with calamari and shrimp. Our kids shared a chicken one. Everything was really good. Especially the calamari seasoning and the steak and shrimp. The fried rice wasn’t great, but it was good. It’s not how the chef cooked it but I felt it needed sesame oil or a different flavor profile and more chopped veggies in it. The sautéed veggies were really good too. Everything was cooked perfectly and had a nice grill/char to it. I didn’t like the dipping sauces much though. Too creamy and gooey for me. I was hoping for a soy ginger scallion dipping sauce and something spicy. Everything was seasoned perfectly too. That’s why i preferred a spicy dipping sauce, so we requested sriracha. We really enjoyed our service and meal, coming back again for a special occasion!

I came here on a date who chose this location based on his previous experience. We were seated quickly without reservations on a Saturday night. The place was half empty which I took as a bad sign. However, my first experience with a teppanyaki chef was fun. He made the experience entertaining. There was a family of four that joined the«table» and he got their kids laughing. The food was just OK. The portions were small, and I left hungry. However, I blame that mostly on the date as you pick out what proteins you want and I left him to order since there was no menu and I had no idea what to get. It took too long for the waitress to show up to get our drink orders and also too long to arrive with them, especially for not being busy. I looked afterwards and the pricing here is too high for the food and atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend taking a date here. You have no chance to talk to each other since the chef is talking nonstop and you’re seated with strangers. The décor looked dated and the room was frayed around the edges. It was also dim and not in an attractive way. Mizu is in a strip mall near Target so there’s tons of free parking. Food: 2.5 Service: 4 Ambiance: 2 Parking: 4

I really like Mizu. But the Mizu in Gig Harbor is better than the Mizu by Southcenter. I think the food is the same, but the service isn’t as good at this Mizu. It’s worth going to the one in Gig Harbor. The fried rice is very good and the Filet. They have some new menu items like the Tuna and it’s really good. I would recommend this place. I wish the service was better because it would be four stars!

Pros + Came here for a birthday dinner on a Sunday night and was seated immediately with no reservations at all. + Server was nice and attentive + Teppanyaki chef was really funny and entertaining! + Everyone enjoyed their experience Cons — They add 18% gratuity to parties of 6 or more — Menu prices are a little high compared to other japanese steakhouses — Chicken was kinda dry Overall good experience. Plus, I always enjoy watching people catch shrimp in their mouth… LOL…

Mizu doesn’t understand vegetarians. When told I was a vegetarian, the waitress replied with, «So you don’t eat meat?» No, I do not eat meat. «You just don’t like meat?» No, I do not eat meat. I understand it’s a bit weird to go to a hibachi/teppanyaki steak house as a vegetarian, but my aunt requested it for her birthday. $ 16 for the vegetable delight with tofu? Slightly ridiculous because it’s just the bigger portion of the vegetables you get as part of any set dinner and a few pieces of deep fried tofu. This is a missed opportunity — Larger hibachi-grilled tofu pieces marinated in any of their marinades would be delicious! Overall, Mizu is not bad, but definitely not great. The waitress was very sweet to give my aunt free dessert and led us in song to wish her happy birthday.

So the service kinda sucked. We came in at 9pm Saturday so the place is empty. We were ready to order so my friends and I looked at the waitresses and they noticed that we were ready. But she just ignored us and walked away. Cool? Then we finally ordered. Then they forgot one plate of our order. Um. The menu had our writing on it with dry erase marker, how do you forget that? And there’s nobody here? Anyways the food took awhile and finally came out. It was ok. The interior of this place is artsy but I suggest maybe training the waitresses some customer service skills. I also asked for tamago rolls and THEYHAVEITONTHEIRMENU and the waitress said they don’t have it. The fuck? Why is it on the menu then? She didn’t have an answer to why they don’t have it– she just walked away I’m sorry the only reason why they got 2 stars is because the food was decent. But I’m more about customer service and they lacked everything about it. Probably not returning here and don’t recommend it.

Came in yesterday and the first thing she says«we’re not serving Sushi» the main reason my husband wanted to go here. Little bummed. Well, I’m pregnant so I had to be careful of what I eat. The food was decent, nothing fancy or great. Very expensive! For the amount of food you get. The server/hostess was really busy drinks took awhile to come around cause she was the only one there, poor thing was running back and forth, cleaning, delivering rice, and drinks all by herself. Wasn’t her fault we didn’t have drinks management just needs to get more staff. We might try it again but with all the choices in the area we’ll see.

GAH!!! I coulda made all this in a frying pan. Face palm! Monkey do CHEFSCHOICE– NY Steak & Shrimp– good steak, oversalted shrimp Great big YELLOWTAILCOLLAR wasted due to overdone on one end and totally undercooked on other. Staff was friendly but looked like they were working with training wheels.
